CAREER ADVICE Loomis

Hey y’all ! So my boyfriend has a job interview tomorrow for Loomis armed driver guard in HTX. I’m super nervous because I’ve heard things as far as danger, the long hours, but the pay is usually good saying they’ll start him off at $22 if offered the position. How was the interview process and how long did it take for you to know if you got the job ? What did your checks look like such as weekly or no-weekly? He also just got his conceal to carry permit so hopefully that helps him out. He currently works at allied but there isn’t that much room for promotion there and we’re trying to save up to move in together next summer. Help a girl and her future husband out with this information thanks 😘

The conceal carry permit does imply he is eligible to get a level 3 license, which is what you’ll need to work any sort of armed security role. Tbh, starting off as a loomis driver is kind of crazy for someone with no prior security experience, but it’s not like seal team six or anything by any means. If I were him, I wouldn’t be so hung up on Loomis and apply around at a whole bunch of different companies.

He works at Allied Security right now which I thought counted as experience? Would they supply the level 3 license or would he have to get it elsewhere?

Does he work without a firearm on his body? If no, he’s a Level 2 guard right now, he’d still have to get his level 3. Now I can’t answer whether allied would provide the training to him or not (not likely unless he wants to continue working for them), but if he plans to make a career of security for the next few years, he’d likely have to get it himself. Roughly 100-300 for the training behind the certificate, 100-200 for the mmpi exam, 60 for the dps fee, and some other small fees along the way prob is a rough estimate. If he’s been saving for all this, yall should be in a good position.

And this isn’t even factoring the gear he’d has to buy if loomis doesn’t ante up on their end.
