If you look at the social movements today there is a common theme. White people bad throughout history. All the world's problems are traced back to white people. No one takes accountability for their own history and places blame on one group. In fact, most people are not taught their own history. Deportation bad but breaking the law to get into a country is totally acceptable. We are judging history based on our current moral code and placing oppressor and oppressed labels on groups to try to create black and white dynamics. I agree that the government sucks. You and I can agree on that. My point is that is seems that if anyone breaks a rule its fine because they aren't white and have been oppressed.

Actually because Blackrock and other hedgefunds have been buying up single family homes and entire neighborhoods. Then sell a couple to an LLC they own which raise everyone's property values, rent, and taxes. Effectively pricing everyone out of the market.

They haven't bought enough of them to affect the market yet, but yes, that is a problem. Citizens united allows for companies to showbtheir vote with money. It needs to be repealed. Our housing prices are also high because the dollar is weak due to our debt. Oddly enough, higher gas prices bolster the dollar, giving us more value.

So we both agree on the first one, I know it well and its the biggest issue in politics.

Gambling pays more for schools and roads than taxes and I feel people should have the freedom to do what they want, even if its dumb.

We also agree on the third. No more lobby jobs period.

I dont feel a way about four.

Five I disagree with kind of. The reason we have such great technology is the capitalism aspect. I have traveled to enough countries to see how bad and the wait time for "government healthcare". I have friends in the UK with serious medical issues that wait years to see specialists. There should be public and private options. Transparent pricing from doctors and hospitals and not paying more than other countries for medications we subsidize to make would be a great start.

We arent as different as it seems on paper. The bright side to this is that people can see that we disagree but still have some common ground.

What percentage of the housing market have they affected? I hate those PEFs but they have not changed the market value. Covid made prices of lumber go up, they never came down. Then you had the mass migration from California to Southern states driving prices through the roof. The debt of this country has to be fixed before pricing comes down. We have a shortage of housing because there are not enough builders (it was this way before ice) and the materials are too high. Not to mention government subsidies to housing.
