Visiting as an Asian

Hi! This will be my first time in Budapest and I really want to watch a Ferencvaros game.

Is there any precautions that I would have to take, especially as an Asian? I will preferably be choosing a seat in C4/5. Have watched many videos on attending a game and wanted to make sure that it is relatively safe for me to attend.

Bro it's Hungary, not Somalia.. ? Why would it not be safe to come? Unless you are wearing away kit at the home section then it's an entirely different story

Thanks for replying! Was concerned as some fans might harbour negative feelings towards Asians and I would like to avoid that as much as possible!

Would definitely be getting some Ferencvaros merch!

Lot of asians are coming to big games and have no problems usually. Obviously its a football game in Eastern Europe so you never know but at max you'll get some looks and some murmuring in Hungarian.

Don’t wear purple or any other Hungarian team’s kit. There’s nothing to worry about, people from all different backgrounds come and visit the games and there are rarely any issues, if any. As someone said earlier, it’s still a football game in Eastern Europe, but you’ve got nothing to worry about. Hope you’ll catch a great game - we’re all in dire need of one

Every sector is totally “safe”, especially C. Don’t wear purple.

Absolutely safe. Come any time.

But better way to torture yourself instead of watching our team “play” is listening to a Hungarian “operett” song. 😅
