Quick Questions Thread

This thread (to be posted every four weeks) is a place for people to ask quick, common, or simple questions regarding Nihon Falcom and its games. The community is encouraged to ask here if your question is not opinion-based, such as where to find something in a game or when something occurred. Please mark all spoilers with the >!text!< format and remember to provide context.

If you post a new thread and your question is redundant (it has been posted on this subreddit recently), we will remove it. Additionally, we have made a Frequently Asked Questions wiki page for these. Please check there first before asking!

Joke question threads will be removed and joke answers should be kept to a minimum.

Please feel free to continue to post separate threads on this subreddit for content you expect to generate more interesting discussion, for example news, opinion-based discussion posts, and links.

Feel free to check out the subreddit wiki or the Discord server.

For Cold Steel 3, when is the difficulty achievement checked? Is it when you beat the final boss, so if you have it on Nightmare you're good, or does it set a flag like "switchedOffNightmare" somewhere in there to screw with you. I'm running SenPatcher, so no issues with it not allowing me to swap back.

Because Nightmare is SUPER easy on foot, but the V sections take like 20 goddamn minutes. And if I happen to get the boss to 10% only for it to decide "I get two turns in a row, instant S-craft, can't interrupt me byyyyyyyye" I might be interested in not having to deal with that.

Iirc it has to be one continuous playthrough. Why do you even care for the trophy if you don't want to put in the work?

I do play on Nightmare. It's really simple for most of it, and in the off chance I do get smoked it takes like maybe 10 seconds for a runback. The issue is that the Valimar sections take so much longer, that even smashing my Ctrl key into the ground for Turbo, it's like 10 minutes for an attempt as it wants me to smack a guy with like 800k HP down 2-4k at a time. So if I get to the end and botch counting delay, or it has a phase shift and suddenly gets three attacks back to back to back, I can go from 100-0.

The reason I ask is because the game, by default, prevents you from turning it back up if you turn it down. But SenPatcher unlocks that. So I if I hit a section that is just obnoxiously tuned, I was hoping to just smooth over that rough edge. As opposed to fighting 2 foot battles, then a 15 minute rock-em-sock-em match that I lose at the end, with like 3 minutes of cutscenes between each phase.
