Public transport Buying Deutschland-ticket as a resident outside of the EU

Basically, me and my friend are in Germany for the next two weeks and we planned to visit many cities. We decided that the Deutschland-Ticket was the best option for the diversity of the available public transport and also the affordability. My research suggested that there was a way to buy it as a Canadian resident with third party apps, but I don’t know if they are trustworthy. Can anybody give me some information or possible solution? Thanks in advance!

Frankly I wish this guy would write guides for more than just trains. Would help my life immensely!

Sort of - the retailer he recommends now adds a ~€3,50 booking fee, so it's better to use another if you can and cancel any subscription.

Germany Transit Pass which he used to recommend (and still works the same) charges no fee and also has immediate termination.

Second vote for Mopla, worked fine for me, don’t forget to cancel it after.

Please make sure you understand the conditions of the "Deutschlandticket". It is valid for one person for one calendar month. You need to cancel by the 10th of the month to not renew for the next month.
"HVV Switch" app acceptes International Credit cards.

This imo is the best site, because you can select with immediate cancellation (to avoid any renewal) and use international cards.

Seat61 is generally a good resource but unfortunately they now recommend a retailer who add an easily avoidable ~€3,50 booking fee to the transaction which can be readily avoided. Seat61 used to recommend Germany Transit Pass but has stopped for some reason (no commission payment...?)

For this one, personally, I would stick to the most official-looking route you can manage and avoid random resale apps unless the app is named directly by a German transit operator. When I had to sort this abroad, the annoying part was not buying the pass, it was understanding the subscription and cancellation rules. Use a transit operator app that accepts your card or PayPal, then cancel as soon as the last valid month is covered. I would keep screenshots of the ticket, cancellation confirmation, and passport name match so an inspector can see the chain clearly.
