Erasmus+ semester(s) abroad Erasmus in Pescara

Hi everyone,

I’m currently doing an Erasmus semester in Cagliari and I’m really enjoying it so far. I love how active it is — there are always events going on, the ESN is great, and I really like the mix of people. The beach, the nature, and the overall lifestyle have been amazing too.

I recently got accepted for another Erasmus semester in Chieti-Pescara, and I’m trying to get a better idea of what to expect. I’ve heard mixed things, so I wanted to ask people who have actually been there.

My main concerns are:

Is the city (especially Pescara) safe? I’ve heard it might be a bit less safe than Cagliari.

Does it feel active in terms of student life and ESN events?

Is there a good international/Erasmus community?

Do you think it might feel underwhelming after a place like Cagliari?

I’m a bit worried it might feel boring or less “alive,” especially since I’ve had such a good experience here.

If anyone has done Erasmus in Chieti or Pescara, I’d really appreciate hearing your experience — both good and bad!

Thanks :)

Not an erasmus student, just a regular student that lives in Pescara (but studies elsewhere).

Sincerly the city is quite safe, as a rule of thumb if you avoid the Rancitelli, San Donato or Zanni neighborhoods, especially at night, you should be fine (Even tho they are being requalified lately).

The public transportation,is pretty decent, if you have to stay in town ( if you are staying on the north zone of the city there is a new bus line that goes on till late on the weekends). Public transportation is a little less efficient if you have to go to the Chieti campus, but just because intercity bus lines are less frequent.

For what regards the student life the city is pretty alive at night, especially on Saturday night, in the center or in Corso Manthone. I don't know if there are ESN activity in particular, but there should be surely somethig to do, I suggest you to look on the university sites if there is something like bulletin board for ESN.
