Dogs Are Idiots Well it happened again…

I was chatting with a perfectly nice man on a dating app and then he brought up dogs. 🙄 He said he was thinking about getting a dog. I said ew I don’t like dogs. He said “aww but dogs are so cute!”

….aaaaannd I’m done. I’m not even going to entertain a possible relationship with someone who likes dogs. Assuming we start dating, now I’m just gonna be annoyed because you’ll have to interrupt our dates to go home and let out some fuckass dog because their high maintenance asses can’t be home alone longer than a few hours. And forget ever spending the night… WHY DOES EVERYONE LIKE DOGS

Dogs Are Idiots Shut the fuck up. For the love of god. SHUT THE FUCK UP.

I never thought I’d evolve into such a dog hater. I used to think they’re ok but not for me. I love animals so much but never felt drawn to canines and never felt the need to associate around them. But my god can I name so many problems stemming from dog ownership.

I moved to a new house in a beautiful area. Not necessarily rural, but the closest grocery store is 15 min away. Surrounded by wilderness, all my neighbors have at least 1 acre of land including me.

I don’t know what’s in the ground water here, but there is only one neighbor without a fucking stupid ass yelling dog. Just constantly barking all the time. I built a super cozy fire pit and I cannot enjoy it without my neighbor’s obnoxious dog barking at me, even if it’s inside. I cannot sleep with my windows open to enjoy this nice brisk weather because those pieces of garbage bark all damn day and night and the open window amplifies their noises.

Not to mention they’re OFTEN unleashed and I see them walk up and down the road. Sometimes go into my yard. Haven’t caught one shitting on my property yet but once I do I am returning that turd to its owner. I walk every night, and I’m one of the weirdos who dropped $10k on night vision. Even in pitch black darkness, some asshole neighbor’s dog can spot me or hear me and just bark bark bark bark. I don’t understand how anyone can bear this sort of nonstop noise. I want to trespass onto these people’s properties and rig up one of those anti-barking speakers to all the neighbor’s trees but I know that’s a bad idea. And I can’t simply complain about all of them.

Dogs Are Idiots Tried to bring a dog to my backyard party. I am not having dumb destructive slobbering dogs in my home.

For context, I (32f) hosted a backyard bbq party for family / friends this weekend. It was a gathering of about 30 people who I have had round my house many times before, and they are all familiar with my rule... I do not allow dogs in my house or in my yard. I reminded everyone that dogs are not welcome in my house or yard when sending out invites to the party also and when confirming peoples attendance.

Regardless... One of my friends turned up to the party with their dog (a big slobbering highly energetic barking 80lb labrador type thing). I told them at my door that the dog was not allowed in, and that they were welcome to take the dog home and come back and join the party, but there was no way the dog was coming into my house or yard.

(for the record, I do not allow dogs even in my yard, because they poop and urinate on the grass and it can never be fully 'cleaned up' properly, and I like to be able to sit/lay on my grass and enjoy my backyard without worries of getting my clothes ruined with remains of dog poop/slobber/urine. I also just don't like being around dogs, because of the constant begging, staring at you 24/7, the barking, chewing up furniture, getting up on tables to steal food, constant attempts to lick your face/legs, so in my home at least, they are simply not welcome).

My friend threw a massive scene, shouting at me, saying that I was 'discriminating' against her and 'bullying / excluding her' for having a dog. She said her dog was an 'emotional support animal' and that she needs to have it with her at the party because of her anxiety. I told her she is more than welcome at the party and that i'd love to have her here, but the dog is not welcome and it is not coming in. If she is unable to be here without the dog (which is a lie, because she has been round many times before without the dog and been fine) then she will just have to go home and give this party a miss.

She left in a huff with dog-in-tow. But messaged a bunch of our shared friends during the party, turning them against me and getting them to gang up on me for being a 'horrible person' and 'animal ab*ser' etc etc (for the record, I would never harm an animal, I just prefer to not touch or be up close to certain animals that I find gross, or even terrifying depending on the breed, if possible. Im not a fan of them, so I just leave them be).

Anyway, the party went on, and most people had a great time, including myself when I eventually just ignored all this dog-related faff and enjoyed my time hosting. But I cant help feel the party was tainted at least a little bit by this horrible interaction with this friend and her dog, and the other friends involved in making me feel bad for not allowing a dog in my home.

Am I in the wrong here / AITA for holding the boundary on not allowing dogs in my home/yard? Im just not sure what to make of all this really.

Dogs Are Idiots My job has accelerated my hate for dogs

I'm a fiber optic tech, so I install fiber to homes and maintain it. I used to be a cable tech, so I've dealt with this for years. Almost every single house has a annoying ass dog. Please tell me how it makes any sense that every time I step outside the house, and walk back in, I have to completely gain the dogs trust all over again. It's been 5 minutes!! They never put them up, and obviously I can demand this, but it creates a awkward hostile environment because they think I'm now an awful horrible person because I don't like their dog. As soon as you walk in the door, BOOM dog paws in your chest. "He just loves people!" As they're licking at your hands, breathing all over you, jumping all over you. The dogs that never stop barking, or whine the entire service call (if they're put up)

I just can't for the life of me understand why anyone would own a dog. I really can't.

I get to see hundreds of dogs a month, and they all SUCK.

every now and then, you'll get the rare case where the dog is actually chill

Not to mention their entire yards are basically a dog poop landfill

I just don't get it...

Dogs Are Idiots I would pay good money to buy a house in a dog-free community

I’m so sick of my neighborhood. Unfortunately I bought my house, so moving again isn’t really all that possible right now. I’ve been looking into possible new home options for the future, but I can’t find anything that doesn’t have neighbors. If I see any neighbor with a fence, that’s an automatic no. Learned that the hard way at this house. The closest I can get to a dog-free neighborhood is an HOA. I’ve heard some don’t even enforce noise ordinances though. Why aren’t dog free communities a thing? I would pay extra fees just to live somewhere peaceful.

Dogs Are Idiots If dogs are “so smart”, why can’t they be trained to excrete?

I’ll always hear dog nutters give this argument that dogs are “so smart” because they’re supposedly “very trainable.” First off, it’s very, VERY rare to see a dog that is trained to do something useful nowadays. Getting a mutt to roll over knowing that there’s a treat incentive does NOT count as training. But then you hear these nutters go on to use the whole, “they can be trained to do lots of things and therefore they’re very intelligent animals.” That couldn’t be further from the truth. The biggest example is dogs lacking the ability to be potty trained. I’ve seen other animals be trained to excrete in some kind of box. But dogs? NEVER. They pee and poop wherever and whenever they desire, especially on other peoples lawns, flower beds, and trees. They have no concept of being trained to excrete. They just do it whenever, then will walk away like it’s nothing. If these mutants are supposedly “so smart and trainable,” why can’t they seem to be trained to do this? Oh right… this post’s flair is the answer to that!

Dogs Are Idiots Roommate Wanted

Hello all! I am seeking a roommate. A little about me:

I have massive codependency issues and can do literally nothing by myself. You will be expected to take me with you everywhere you go, as I cannot stand a single moment by myself. This includes vacations and if for some reason I cannot accompany you, I expect nothing but the finest accomodations while you're gone. I hope this is ok with you.

I also tend to lash out and scream at anyone who is nearby me, including your friends if they come over. Sometimes I'll just scream at nothing! It's just one of my quirks. I've been known to boil over and actually physically attack people and small animals. Oh well.

On the other hand, if I decide I like your friends...well let's just say I tend to get a little...personal, if you know what I mean. But it's ok, I'm friendly.

I believe in a shared space: what's yours is mine. A good rule of thumb is, if I can see it, it's mine too and I can do what I want with it. I like to take things apart, I'm a very curious soul.

I have a very strict diet to which you'll need to hold me accountable, because I will certainly take and eat your food, even if it will literally kill me.

Oh, I almost forgot. It's kind of embarrassing but I am unable to take a shower or do...other bathroom things by myself. I'll need you to help me, otherwise, fair warning, there will 100% be a mess inside our place. It's ok, it's just what I do.

And one last thing, I don't have a job or do anything productive, so I can't pay rent.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Dogs Are Idiots The Cult of the Canine: Humanity’s Greatest Scam

You ever notice how dog ownership has become a religion? Like some mass delusion where everyone pretends this loud, needy, hairy, farting gremlin is a "family member." No Karen, your dog isn't your "baby," it's a half-wolf with the IQ of toast and the hygiene of a swamp rat.

Somehow, society has collectively agreed that it’s normal to voluntarily bring home an animal that costs thousands of dollars, destroys your furniture, barks at dust particles, and then proudly takes a dump in the middle of your living room during your Zoom call. But it’s fine, because “he has separation anxiety” and “he’s just expressing himself.” Right. So is a toddler with a chainsaw.

Dog culture is the only place where being covered in hair, drool, and the lingering smell of warm kibble is considered “endearing.” People will gleefully clean up vomit at 2 a.m. and call it “bonding.” Meanwhile, I can’t leave a slice of bread on the counter without a panting beast launching itself onto the table like a landmine with teeth.

And don’t even bring up the “companionship” argument. If your idea of emotional support is a creature that licks its butthole and then your face with the same tongue, you might want to re-evaluate your social circle. If dogs are man’s best friend, we are clearly desperate and surrounded by enemies.

Honestly, if aliens ever visit and see humans picking up steaming excrement in plastic bags while praising the creature that produced it, they’ll turn around and nuke the planet out of pity.

Dogs Are Idiots Dogs losing their minds 24/7

I just can’t comprehend the allure of wanting to own a dog. I install fiber so I go in multiple houses a day, and 9/10 homes have dogs. From the time I pull up outside in my van, to the time I leave, the dog is barking/losing its mind going absolutely insane for the full 1-2hours I’m there. Sometimes they’re so loud, me and the customer can’t even speak to each other.

Why would you want that thing in your house? You can’t even have anyone come to your home without having to deal with that crap?

I just don’t understand the allure. And that’s leaving out all the other reasons owning a dog makes no sense to me

Dogs Are Idiots I genuinely just hate dogs so much…

They make everything worse… restaurants, parks, social gatherings, you name it.

So I really like flowers, right? Well… I can't really look at flowers anymore without picturing some stupid dog defecating all over them due to how many times I've seen that happen. Another beautiful thing ruined by disgusting dogs. I genuinely just hate dogs at this point…

People. Just stop owning these worthless things already! I hate this sound so much. There aren't enough words in any human language to describe the rage it gives me. It's sort of ruining my life. There's too many of them and too many stupid humans worshiping them .

Dogs Are Idiots All dogs suck

I can understand having certain breeds that you don’t like more than others. But at the end of the day, a dog is a dog. They’re all smelly, gross, loud, gluttonous beasts, terrible for the environment/public health, and are just awful, awful mutants overall. Golden retrievers, for instance, get hyped up by dog culture as being the “poster child of dogs” with a lower prey drive. But that doesn’t change the fact that golden retrievers are still smelly, annoying, and bark loudly. Plus they’ve caused deaths before too. Goldens getting the hype they do despite still displaying every other disgusting characteristic makes me dislike them more. Sure, some are worse than others… most notably the ones known for the most maulings. But that doesn’t change the fact that all dogs suck. The big ones, the small ones, and everything in between. All of them.

Dogs Are Idiots Which kind of dogs are the worst in your opinion?

Personally I hate almost all if not all of them. But we differentiate between these little anoying loud creatures that think they are better than anything else and they sound like sirens it's so goddamn annoying. And then there are the big ones. They aren't that aggresive and annoying but my god imo they are even more rotten and musty and when one of those will jump on me I swear to got I have to shower immadiately. Why again do so many people like these overwhelming monsters? Why do we keep them as pets?

Dogs Are Idiots My Flowers Are Ruined

My beautiful flowers I planted two days ago are ruined from the dogs in the neighborhood that run amuck.

I had to place a tarp over my flowers to keep them warm from the cold. This morning I wake up to the tarp and all the stakes gone and my flowers trampled and up rooted. The soil full of dog paws and dug up. My camera captured the dogs running away.

Honestly I needed somewhere to just vent. I feel so awful and those flowers were not cheap. I planted these specifically to help the honey bees and bumblebees.

Why must I endure a dog's destruction in my yard when I don't even have dogs myself.

Dogs Are Idiots Bf’s “intelligent” dog ate poop and wasps

My bf rehomed his dog recently to his parents and he always insisted how smart she was… I love my partner but the dog was dumb as bricks. Did not listen or know what sit, down, quiet, or any command was over 12 years. She ate human pills and got sick multiple times and was VERY greedy about food. She attempted to attack a dog twice her size about kibble and got a good chunk of fur ripped off.

Recently, she ate a cluster of wasps and her own fecal matter in front of me and my bf while visiting his parents. Her face is incredibly swollen as is her neck. Shes ok but in obvious self inflicted pain. His mom keeps saying how beautiful and intelligent this dog is… She has a chunk of fur missing from greed and a huge swollen face that she can barely see out of bc she ate WASPS

i feel bad for any animal in pain but how can we pretend these animals are intelligent

Dogs Are Idiots Frenchies are the WORST

Can we PLEASE talk about how absolutely FILTHY and dysfunctional these little gremlins are? I’m not sorry. Frenchies are gross.

First off, the farts. I babysat my bfs Frenchie for ONE weekend. That thing cleared rooms like chemical warfare.

And the snorting/snoring/drool symphony? Constant. It never stops. They can’t breathe because we bred their faces into a pancake, so every waking second is just honk-shhhhhh-honk-wheeze with a side of slime bubbles from their smush mouths.

Oh, and the yeast. Their little face folds are basically petri dishes. You have to clean the forehead cheese out twice a day or they smell like stale Fritos and regret. And the ears. They can't even clean themselves that's how dysfunctional they are

They can’t swim. They can’t give birth naturally. They can’t even mate without human assistance. Their eyes pop out of their skulls if you sneeze too hard. They overheat in 2 minutes under sun.

And on top of ALL that, I’m gonna say it: they are cognitively broken too. You can’t train them. They eat rocks. They stare at walls. They’ll forget where their food bowl is if you move it six inches to the left.

They’re expensive, gassy, snoring, yeast-infected, back-broken, eyeball-popping, half-wit little stuffed animals designed by idiots for idiots.

And people pay $5k for this?! I’d rather adopt a possum out of a dumpster. At least the possum has working lungs and survival instincts.

Dogs Are Idiots I’m seething right now

Currently shaking from anger. I’m at a public park with my 8 month old baby on a picnic blanket just enjoying the quiet, having some snacks and watching these silly geese. Out of nowhere this stupid dog came chasing these poor geese that were minding their own business trying to maul them. And what happens next? This mutt sprints towards me and my baby and all I can think of in the moment to do is grab my baby and yell “GET!!!” And I hear the stupid lady yell “sorry!” If it hadn’t happened so fast there’s so much more I would have said. Oh, and after walking away a while I see this idiot unleash her dog again. If there wasn’t a bunch of kids around and if I didn’t want to make a huge scene I would have been yelling at this dumb lady to leash her stupid dog back. We are at a public park with toddlers everywhere. Am I out of touch or is it okay to let out of control dogs run amok causing havoc to the animals that call this place their home? I have had such bad postpartum anxiety and this is one of my worst nightmares. Maybe it doesn’t seem like a big deal to some people but one of my worst thoughts I can’t get out of my head is my sweet baby being attacked by a dog and not having any control over it.

Dogs Are Idiots Dog chased my child towards deep water and I was “in the wrong”

On today’s episode of “Why I Fucking Hate Dogs”.

I am particularly sick of dogs this week after my neighbour’s dog has been barking all. the. fucking. TIME!

We’re having lovely, Spring weather where I am this week. Me, my husband and our five year old went for a lovely walk at a nearby country park today. Our daughter (aged 5) was having a great time feeding pees to the ducks and minding her own business. Then a dog comes along, jumps in the water and starts chasing the ducks. So we walked in because my daughter doesn’t like dogs and the owners were doing nothing about the dog scaring the ducks away.

Continued our walk towards a play park. I can see a group of people talking in the middle of the path ahead with three dogs running around off leads while the owners are not controlling them. My daughter was excited to get to the playground so ran slightly ahead. Then one of the dogs starts growing and chased her TOWARDS THE FUCKING DEEP LAKE! I’m seeing red at this point, my husband and I are trying to stop the dog chasing her but then the other fucking dog starts growing at me, jumping on me and preventing me from getting to my daughter quickly. Owner doesn’t see anything that’s going on because they’re busy talking and ignoring the dogs. My husband picked our daughter off and I went to tell the owners that this wasn’t ok. I said to the owner “whoa! Your dog has just chased my daughter towards the lake!” And the fucking owner literally looked me straight in the eye, laughed and said “awww haha bless him” the TURNED BACK ROUND AND CARRIED ON HER CONVERSATION!

I am really cross by this point and tell her so. Then she replies with “oh leave him alone! He’s only a baby!” to which I replied “he’s a puppy but that there is my actual human child. MY baby”. Of course I just got a load of abuse hurled at me and they walked off, laughing, continuing their conversation while the dogs ran round.

So that’s the lovely walk ruined. My daughter is upset because of the dog chasing her, I’m pissed off.

Not to mention all the shit everywhere! All through this lovely country park.

Fucking hell. When did dogs start to come before actual human children?

Dogs Are Idiots My hatred for dogs is literally indescribable

I’ve been lurking here for a bit, but I decided recently to make an alternate account to actually talk about this here for fear of my friends/followers possibly seeing this. I hate dogs so fucking much. They’re ugly, they’re disgusting, they’re fucking stupid, and, worst of all, they’re loud and obnoxious as hell. They bark at every goddamn thing and it always startles me and pisses me off. I don’t really like loud noises, but most of the time it’s bearable. Screaming and dumbass barking dogs are, like, the only exceptions, really. I wish we as a society could just collectively stop owning dogs; these things are clearly not fit to be kept in a household. And, y’know, isn’t the whole point of having guests over to make them feel comfortable and welcome? Some stupid ass dogs don’t fucking leave guests alone, incessantly barking at them. Now, some people might find this cute for whatever reason, but I sure as hell don’t (I was subjected to that kind of scenario once). I just hate dogs so much. I can’t wait to start owning rabbits, they’re so much better than dogs. They’re actually cute and quiet and relaxing to be around.

Dogs Are Idiots Friend ghosted me because I didn’t worship dogs 🤦‍♀️

So I have a hard time making friends anyway, and I found a woman who had the same interests as me(nerdy stuff like video games, dnd, cosplay). She told me she had dogs (had a bunch of pics of her and her dogs together), but didn’t go much into it at first so I thought that’s okay if we don’t like all the same things… but as we started talking more I noticed her discussing her dogs even more and more (like she couldn’t keep it out of any conversation!) She even told me she was going to have the dogs in her wedding as groomsmen 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️… At this point I told her that I didn’t like dogs at all, and she gave me the look like I admitted I was a serial killer or something!! Needless to say the conversation ended quickly after that (except for pleasantries) and she hasn’t replied to my texts since. FFS can I please find some friends who don’t worship at the altar of the mutt!!!

Dogs Are Idiots Dogs so cannot sense "evil"

so I'm sitting downtown today, and I watch as a pickup with 4 of the same breed of dogs pulls up and parks near me. and then, a local girl who lives in my neighborhood, and who is also on the sex offender registry for sotomizing babies and even for molesting her own children, stops to pet the dogs. The dogs all soak up her attention! all eager and excited for it. so there's that.

Dogs Are Idiots Dog Wiping Its Ass On the Sidewalk

You can't make this shit up. I was driving to the movies yesterday and I looked out to my right to see a shit bull puppy wiping its ass on the sidewalk with a gleeful smile on its doofus face. It was butt scooting like dogs often do in homes. It's bad enough when they do it there, but this was in broad daylight and I wish I hadn't seen it. These mutants have no shame.

Dogs Are Idiots I think I found a pretty good reason why most of us hate dogs.

I don't like dogs, that's why I'm here ofc. But i've always wondered why. Obviously there's the fur, smell etc, but why? what about them fills me and probably you with such distain. I found a reason that encompasses alot. Arrogance. Lets put it this way, most animals, like I dunno, tigers, even wolves at young ages learn their place. They learn if they beg and steal food from elders they'll get hurt, they learn if they disrespect territories they get attacked and so forth. Dogs aren't shown that. I don't mean this in the "aww fur baby" way but dogs are children. exactly like them. You shower puppies with love from day one, their biting isn't taught no but is usually "awwww" they beg for food, they're given it. If you do the same with a child, spoil them, show no discipline and indirectly teach them the world revolves around them what do you get? a brat. Dogs aren't taught to be normal. I realised this watching a video of a dog harassing a horse and it got kicked. I dont condone abuse but it occured to me, that dog had never been shown that harassing something usually gets you in trouble. None of them are. For example. Dogs begging for your food? Humans say "awww" and give them it. A larger higher ranking dog in a pack would probably attack them and teach them their place. Dog sleeps on your bed? Human allows it, a larger dog who ranks higher would kick them out. Humans have effectively raised dogs to be freeloading, incopetent narcissistic brats and it's because of that they're so intolerable. If you raise an animal to believe the world will kneel at it's feet for it's needs of course it will become a problem. they're 4 legged Veruca from Charlie and the Chocolate factory over here. Even the aggressive dogs are only aggressive because they've never been put in their place, they believe they can bark, growl and bite you and get away with it

Dogs Are Idiots Why are they so stupid??

I've never seen another animal that has such poor survival instincts. Most animals are well aware of danger but dogs seem to just not be for some reason. I had an old roommate who had a German shepherd and he'd just stand in the street. Not even crossing just standing there. Like why? Also most animals back away when you shoo them away. But dogs don't. They keep coming back to sniff my cooch. I'm so done with dogs and dog culture.
