Discussion 220 is kinda crazy no?

I was excited for this cause I really liked the Time Stranger Alt Arts and the deck box. But 220 seems excessive. Maybe I'm missing something

lol yeah, I kinda spent the morning talking myself into taking the plunge on it on the expectation that it'd be 200 (already way too high), but an extra 20 plus the 10 shipping and tax... I don't think I have it in me.

Exactly what I did lol. My friends who typically buy from P-Bandai said they were expecting around 100. Now I'll just grab the singles for the Olympus 12 cards I care about

The last set like this was $200 and kept selling out until they finally put it up for print to order. I expected this one to maybe be slightly cheaper due to the storage box looking smaller, but it's also coming with a premium deck box instead of a playmat and twice the cards. I don't think anyone who was there for last year's set would be that surprised by this price point. You can't really account for the market value of each card, as I'm pretty positive that TCG companies aren't allowed to do that.

I don't think the cards really have much to do with the price in the end, as sets with similar amounts have been far cheaper. This is just their price point for their "premium" faux leather storage boxes. It sucks, but their "premium" sets definitely aren't priced with players in mind.

For whatever it's worth, last year's set was very high quality and so much nicer than their usual cardboard storage boxes. Has a very nice, themed outer cardboard box that it came in, too. Even the brown manufacturer's box that these sets tend to come in had themed art on it, which made me keep that as well.

There was a similarly styled "premium" binder 2 years ago that had Beelzemon and BeelStarmon and came with 4 promos, 2 each. That was $100.00, so that was another reason I knew it wouldn't be that low.

My main disappointment here is that it does have a similar price but the images make this storage box look significantly smaller than the last one. I'll probably get it because I'm a sucker and more of a collector, but I'll be annoyed when they don't display nicely together.
