May 2026 / Season 22 * * EVERYONE PLEASE READ * *

Welcome to all new members and fans of the show. I am the more active mod here, and I wanted to ask members to review the rules here and of Reddit in general. Please remember that behind each post, is a human being with feelings. There's enough going on in the world for us to be unkind to one another here as well.

I have started scheduling episode posts again that will go live at 7pm EST, an hour before the new episode. Please try to keep comments about the new episode within that post, to decrease spoilers for others. It also keeps posts of the same exact content, to a minimum.

As most of you know, especially those who have seen Phil's last season, knowing the death of a cast member is coming makes that season even more difficult to watch. I don't believe the show has lost a crew member mid shooting like this though, except for Phil. I don't feel like Discovery has fully addressed his passing, so I'm hopeful for more.

I also wanted to address the comments I have seen about moderators removing and hiding comments based on personal opinion and not rules. I would like to remind everyone that the moderators are human beings with real lives outside of Reddit, and we do not get paid to do what we do. We rely on automods, trigger words, alerts, member reporting, on top of reading every post. If you personally have an issue with any content here, do not hesitate to message me or the mods as a whole. Fans of the show are what makes this community what it is, and we can co exist in the same space with different opinions.

Lastly, as a reminder, there are still certain subjects we discourage as topics of discussion. We let most snarky comments slide, but if you find yourself wanting to comment "What happened with <insert cast member>"? Google is your friend. Feel free to utilize any search engine, with words such as court case, arrest, jail, prison, etc. Yes, we encourage discussions and we are not trying to restrict anyone's speech, some things just need to be left in the past. We've beat many a dead horses here.

Please be kind, everyone. šŸ’œ

Todd Meadows question

Aside from his opening monologue, has Todd Meadows been in the show up to this point? Did he not join on until opie season? I try to see if he’s there every time they’re showing stuff on the Aleutian Lady but it’s been tough. Like, I know they’re not going to show his death, I get and respect that, but did they cut him out of the entire season?

I feel like they hardly put any focus on the deckhands at all this season. In years past I remember them flashing names up on the screens and having deckhands answer more questions throughout the show. Now, I feel like they’re almost exclusively in B-roll and you never really get to know the deckhands. It’s been tough to tell who’s who on each boat with the short bits they’ve shown on the deck so far this season.

What is up with that fence shown at the Caribou hunt?

Anyone else notice that there is a quick shot right as they found the caribou herd that showed a fence? Don't know if that was a cut in gone wrong or the whole thing was a fake. Anyone else have any info????

Season 22 - Series Revival?

So far Season 22 has been one of the best seasons in a long time, and I’m not talking about the crab šŸ¦€ count. I’m talking about how the show presents itself.

To be honest, for me the past several seasons had gotten so bad that I kept promising myself I’d never watch it again.

But Season 22 just feels different in a very good way. It’s hard to explain. It’s like Deadliest Catch has gone back to its raw, stripped down roots that we experienced at the beginning of the series two decades ago.

Anyone else getting that vibes?

Anyone else getting tired of Sig stealing & thieving?

I'm just getting really sick and tired of sig crossing lines stealing and thieving from Jake and everybody else. Why can't he just mind his own f****** business?

If I was Jake I would have called him out and said you f****** thief. I'm curious if it was illegal of him to cross the line, grab Jake's pot and pull it back to his side and if it was I'm curious if Jake could have pressed charges for stealing and crossing the line?

Anyway that's the end of my rant for now.

Jake’s a weasel

Just started watching this show again. Watched the most recent 3 seasons. Every single time he has a couple bad strings he gives another captain a ring begging for help. They’re usually on some crab. Understandable they usually arent very forthcoming about sharing a hotspot. Every time they throw him a bone he acts like a child and throws a fit. Claiming he has a right to a spot.. Watching Keith pull him from a raft and then slighting him and stepping on his toes the next couple of days is trash

Plus his inability to properly express his emotions is pathetic. As soon as a pot doesn’t have a doubt of a hundred or more he goes into a temper tantrum like a child. Yelling and having outbursts, yelling at producers cause of a low count…

I see previous posts about how everyone likes him and I just don’t get it. Dude sucks, I’m sure I’ll have people here to disagree. Oh well

Episode Help

Does anyone know where I can watch or find the episodes that usually air one week before a season starts? They usually involves captains recapping the last season while sitting in a warehouse. Jake Anderson posted this image on his social media with the caption "ME AND THE BOYS Deadliest Catch Season 22". I loved these episodes and watched them all the time but last couple seasons I have not been able to find them. Any help would be great. Ive checked Amazon video, discovery+. I may have missed them but I dont see it.

Less Focus on Deckhands

Catching up on the new season and I feel like they don’t introduce who are working on the boats as much anymore. Outside of Freddy this season, and a lot of the new seasons, they focus on the captains and while they are entertaining I always enjoy seeing the ups and downs of the greenhorns, deckhands, and deck bosses. Thoughts?

Working on a Time Bandit

Hello guys another huge fan of DC!! Just got back into the season binge watch up to the new episodes and I forgot how cool the Time Bandit crew is along with the boat. I recently got into 3D printing and was looking last night to see if there was a printable Time Bandit and there isn't one or at least not correct to the actual shape of the boat. Here is my attempt. Main boat shape and block are done so far. looking for some crab pot models, deck table, and maybe a tote to add to the Deck. If anyone just so happens to have these 3D models I will buy them! Pretty cool project I wanted to share. Enjoy guys and Time Bandit FTW!!!!

Seems like Jake is always the underdog. We always wants to see the underdog win. we see you man.

I haven't even gotten to the current season cuz I'm catching up, but I've heard about his struggles. I always thought Jake was a way too emotional for the job. a bit whiny even. you come to find out the man has been going through a lot of heavy stuff for along time. there's huge respect in not giving up. pushing through, lot of people out there can't do that. you can do it jake. lot of people out there watching and wishing the best for you. there's going to be a tipping point at some point. it's all going to click, you're going to realize that you had to go through all that stuff just to get to where you want to go and where you're going to end up is probably going to be a pretty good place. keep doing what's best for you. there is lots of time left on that scoreboard. weather the storm bro.

Relating to Jake Anderson's drama with his partner.

I remember a year ago my ex wanted to take a break because she was feeling depressed and physically hurt, and I agreed to it as long as we got back together within a time frame because I did not agree with the break and also demanded a "hall pass" for each week passed by. A month later, she broke up with me, which I won't get into why, but I'll just say the blame is on her. It's been about 8 months since she screwed me over, but all I wanna say is that I can relate to how she's upset or depressed. Because I was in that state for multiple months until I focused on myself and got stuff moving for my personal life. Seeing all the shit Jake has been in during his time on the show, I just really wanna see him win and succeed for here on out.

I want every one of Jake Anderson's pots to come up loaded and with riders

Except for perhaps a coupla pranks, and some tough judgement calls people have to make, Jake has been the most consistent "good dude" on this show and life has been dealing him tons of crappy hands. I'm sure some is exaggerated/edited for the show, but this guy deserves every good thing we can wish for him. I want to see him eventually own the CM, and follow Capt. Phil's fart bubbles...

Every time he pulls a pot my inner voice is saying "full pot, full pot; no whammies!"

Everyone has their favorites, but I want nothing but the best for this guy...

(edited for a coupla typos)

Discovered this series for the first time and feeling conflicted about life

Yes, I’ve been living under a rock and only stumbled upon this show for the first time tonight.

What hits me the hardest is finding out how much the crew made. $15K/month and it’s barely 3 months a year for crab season.

The kind of shit and danger they have to endure. ā€œboat fucked, on life raft for 5 hours, barely made it out out alive. aight lets get back to work right afterā€

People around me makes that amount of money pressing keyboards 9-5, and barely contributes any concrete thing to society.

I’m a snowflake, my whole life is a bubble. I can’t fathom all the BS around me while watching these real men and women risking their life to put food on the table.
