Prayers πŸ™

Best wishes and hoping for a fast and speedy recovery for our brothers(or sister). It was said that the injuries to be facial burns and intense ringing in the ears, respectively. It also happened to be because of an aerosol can. Be careful out there, especially with the upcoming warm weather.

To all the new guys or guys / gals getting on soon. It’s very easy to stand behind the hopper as you cycle , you’ll do it a hundred times per shift . Shit can fly out , water and hopper juice sprays all the time , tail gates can pop open at insane force , things can explode !

Stand to the side and let the hopper do its thing before you throw more stuff in.

Seriously , don’t stand behind the truck when cycling

Say it to myself every fucking day. At least once a month I manage to get sprayed by something. Yeah, I know, rookie move. Such is life. So far so good, nothing painful or dangerous.

I have 18 complete in August and I still do it at times!

Not so much loading a stop while it cycles but crossing behind the truck doing both sides etc .

And now with split body on compost days by the time you get 6 or 7 tons on the big side , shit is spraying all the time !

True, it’s impossible sometimes unfortunately. & the situation with people throwing out acid & batteries is going to get much worse. Nobody listens anymore. You have to sort 4 different commodities and go through hell trying to get rid of electronics, paint, etc.

100% this. Also, step further away during and after it rains. Meaning take weather rinto consideration. Nice weather can also bring out vermin so be mindful of furries hopping out from the back. Best of luck to any new people and prayers to those who got injured πŸ™ ❀️. Stay safe. Work smart and safe to go home to your families.
