BC 415 broken latch

Just got this Bone collector BC 415 for $5 from a guy that was just going to toss it. He says it has a broken latch. I am a master with firearms but I know nothing about crossbows. How much does a latch cost to fix? Can I do it at home? Cabela’s bow tech says that I have to send it to killer instincts

Since you already well experienced with firearms, crossbow is just a bow that have barrel and trigger and in this case it's trigger problem and you can repair it at home. First inspect the damage which part is really broken and how bad it is, he says that latch is broken so you need to look inside trigger box there should be a pin rod that hold tension for springs to keep latch standup and other pin rod that hold latch and springs even if either pin rod is broken you still can replace them with any metal rod of the same size but if the actual latch and/or springs is broken or you lose them you need to replace whole trigger box. For the repair cost it's depend on damage you got, If you need just the pin rod it would cost just few dollar but if you need trigger box would cost you quite a bit. I don't know about the price of KI spare parts because they don't sell them online but for my crossbows trigger box it's around 30-50 dollar.
