Advice Good (cheap-ish) date spots?

Hello everyone! I’m looking for a solid place for a dinner date that ideally isn’t too expensive, I can stomach spending like $40 total, but I really want the place to be memorable and nice. Distance isn’t too much of an issue, I don’t have a problem driving a little further if you know some other nearby places not in the springs

Cheba Hut or Ike's sandwich shops. Two meals under $40. Then drive to Garden of the Gods or Palmer Park and have a picnic in a beautiful place. Rockledge Ranch has a beautiful pond spot but you might draw attention from the geese.

the cheba hut off interquest has an outdoor roof top space with a nice view of pikes peak too!

Check if they like mini golf first. A lot of people absolutely hate mini golf and bowling.

Ivywild School - they’ve got a scratch kitchen, pizza, bakery, cocktail lounge, brewery, and whiskey bar. Outside is barbecue too

Memorable as well, since it’s a converted school.

Second this. Husband and I had our first date there! Get a bruschetta pizza from decent pizza co and grab a beer from Bristol.

Second this. The whiskey bar is maybe on the pricier side, but the brewery is great and there's a really lovely patio area.

Honestly, do a picnic at one of our wonderful parks! That $40 will go a lot further in a grocery than a restaurant, and a picnic in a park is just way more memorable than a random restaurant.

Grab a pizza, a bottle of Bay Bridge ($3.99!), a bluetooth speaker, hammock or picnic blanket and go to a park an hour before sunset.

My husband and I will be celebrating our hammock anniversary next month.

Edit: I forgot to recommend a park. Monument Valley park has some decent hammock trees by the pickle ball courts. Feeding the ducks and geese in the ponds is always a good time. The Horticultural Art society has a beautiful garden right nearby that is so nice to walk around in.

Tapateria is great. You can get 4 or 5 things easily for under $50. There's only one item on their menu I didn't like (carne adovada... the tortillas are horrible). Other than that the food is great. And it's a really cute spot.

We love Coati for date night or taking friends out. It’s a food hall with good variety!

The penny arcade in Manitou is fun too!

Go to hillside summer concert series on Wednesday evenings. Open from 5pm-8:30pm 3 different bands on different stages, in a big garden nursery event space. No kids and no pets. $18 to get in, comes with a drink. They have food trucks there too.

We went to Tacos el amigo this past weekend. A Colorado burrito and chipotle tostadas plus two soft drinks with 20% tip was $37

Four by brother luck has a really good happy hour, so does cowboy star, but honestly , bang for buck, split a steak at Texas roadhouse, barley and basil also has a good happy hour

When I didn’t have a lot of money, the dates I would go on would be picnics in the park. Grab something cheap to eat at the grocery store like sandwiches or a chicken and some sides, bring a blanket, and enjoy. There are so many beautiful parks here in the Springs. And it would be more intimate. Bonus points if you both like to read and each bring a book along.

Seconding Ivywild School. My wife and I went on like our second date, got a pizza and a couple beers, walked around the old converted school, came in under $40. Still one of our favorite nights here.

503w has some pretty great happy hour stuff. You can get in and out of there for under 40 with the happy hour menu.

Under $20. Go to a free Thursday night concert at Acacia Park. Follow that up with ice cream from Josh and John’s, or drinks at a bar.

Maybe a hike up near green mountain falls and lunch or brunch by the creek outside seating at the pantry in green mountain falls.

We like The Burrowing Owl. It’s a vegan restaurant on the west side. I’m not vegan, and the food there is delicious! Cozy atmosphere that kind of feels like you’re back in the 80s.

NomNom Thai, if you like Thai food. Lunch is less expensive.

My husband and I will get illegal Pete’s, chipotle, pizza, really whatever we’re feeling and then go watch the sunset at kissing camels overlook and it’s some of my favorite dates ever.

You can also do the same thing with the Palmer park overlooks. Really cute, sweet, intimate and low key for a first or second date

Fuji Yama has half off most of their menu on Mondays from 5-6pm

A picnic! You can closely control cost, it’s different, romantic. Go to the Italian market/restaurant on Garden of the Gods for good bread, sausage, cheese etc, grab some flowers and bring a blanket and you’re all set.

Hillside Gardens will be starting their summer concert series soon. Take PikeRide bikes and valet them. Parking gets rough.

Shanxi Noodles just opened a month or so ago near Constitution and Powers. Decent prices and good food! (I think it was like $50-$60 for my family of 3 with an app)

I like the roadhouse cinema. You could keep it under 40 bucks depending on what you get to eat

Good, cheap, filling. Pick two.

Scheels has a cafe with sandwiches, soups, pizza, etc. You could grab dinner there, have an ice cream cone, then ride the Ferris wheel, bowl, and walk around the store. Easily under $40 and fun and different.

This is like asking for a recommendation for a good (cheap-ish) pair of shoes. We need more details!

Who are YOU and how can the date be where this lucky person discovers that YOU are nice, and make YOU memorable to them?

Who are they? Because you could take them to the Maldives when they may fall more in love serving with you at a soup kitchen.

The way you asked the question feels more like you’re making crowd-sourced content for a blog and less like you’re delighting in the fine fine art of romancing a person.

Who you? Who they? Congrats on already being proactively thoughtful about a date night. It’s gonna be great.

Pack up a picnic and spend it in Garden of the Gods. Or Drive up Pikes Peak and have the picnic up there.

A nice date night experience can include sharing plates. Base Camp in OCC has a fun, nice atmosphere and really surprising, memorable (and delicious!) shareable plates. Today for lunch my spouse and I ordered one $10 plate and two $15 plates and we were stuffed... plus the food was amazing, really "experience" kind of food. Great, friendly and informative service too. I don't know if their dinner shareable plates are priced higher than the lunch shareable plates, but you can probably find that on their website. The total of our bill was $40 plus drinks plus tax and tip... but the quality of the food and the fun of a "shareable plate" experience are easily worth it!
