Where’s Chris Gimenez?
I know they’re shuffling around the talent a lot more this season, but it feels like he hasn’t been around in weeks. Anyone know if he’s just on vacation or did they let him go?

Decapitated. Whole big thing. We had a funeral for a bird.

Jim Chrismenez is replacing him

I read that as Chris Perez. I think his brand of pitcher insanity is what we need on the broadcast team.

Wherever he is, half his sentences are starting with, “back when I was a below average catcher for the Indians….”

Find something you can obsess over like Guards Reddit obsesses over announcers

I know he’s talked about coaching his kids so they probably scheduled around it so he still has the chance to.

I love listening Rick Manning and will die on that hill! I absolutely noticed his absence, but your post tipped me off to the fact that Chris hasn’t been on the broadcasts in a while.
It’s not nostalgia - I’m a late-twenties female transplant from Cincinnati, who became a baseball and Guardians fan organically. I moved here the year of the name change and just latched in on baseball.
Rick just has that kinda crazy drunk uncle vibe that makes listening to a baseball game special. Chris is….sterile. He doesn’t keep the radio listeners up to date on the score, calls the plays with inadequate excitement, and I find his stories don’t add enough context or color to the game. Different strokes, I suppose.

wherever he is, he's giving everyone a ton of credit and tipping his cap
