It seems to me that we have an above average number of close games. He gets lots of opportunities. I fucking love it.

That first inning was great, right? Nothing else to talk about.

This is why ABS exists and why we traded for Patrick Bailey and why we need to save Patrick all our ABS challenges

Side note: I love that your mom sends you links to Guardians news/transactions. Great mom and great job by mom!

Better at defense, better at calling games, and apparently even a better batter than Bo

Hedgie’s been good too. I don’t know his challenge record off the top of my head.
But I approve of Hedgie + Bailey over any combo with Bo

It's even hard to judge off of challenge record. I know both of them have been throwing away challenges at the end of the game because they'll lose them if they aren't used.

Offense heard we wanted more than 3 runs today and responded in a big big way

Positives from today’s Cleveland baseball:
I know Hog is the clubhouse sword guy, but I think it’d just feel right for Slade to do it. Slade Cecconi🗡️ takes the mound and ends with a final line of 4.1IP, 7H, 3R, 0BB, and 3K on 69 pitches (49 strikes). Never mind, sub 4 ERA only for sword privileges.
The offense… IT’S ALIVEEEEEE! The bats get 4 runs off of 10 hits and a 🍌 stolen base. A Red Sox opener takes the hill and immediately gives up 4 runs, with singles from José🐐, CDL🚚, Rhys⚡️, Manzo🥔, Angel😇, and Schnee⛄️, and a Bailey🛡️ sac fly to top it off. Bailey also added a double, Chase and Manzo each added another single, and Baz🍌 had a single+SB combo.
Break out the arm arm arms! That was autocorrect somehow but I’m leaving it! Holderman🤝(1.1IP), Herrin🐟(0.2IP), Armstrong💪(0.2IP), Gaddis☠️(1IP), and K’d Smith🐴(1IP, 3K) all combine to go 4.2IP, 4H, 0R, 0BB, and 5K. Never a nervous moment!
(Yesterday) It be the Clippers’ turn for a double digit run day, securing a 10-3 victory off the back of… oh you’ve gotta be kidding me. NoJo⛰️ extends his on base streak to 19 games thanks to a 4/5 performance. Ingle📐 got into one and smashed a 3 run bomb, Genao👼 went 3/4 with a walk and a double, and Denholm📏 went 5IP, 1H, 0R, 3BB, and 4K on 76(43) pitches out of the pen.

What's the "you gotta be kidding me" about?

Nolan Jones turning into an actual hitter again would force me to go find comment and delete them.

Look man, Bello was great. I know his numbers for the year aren’t but he was really good. They’re all major leaguers for a reason. Gotta tip your cap.
Oh btw the Guards still won. Yeah you’d like a little more but a Win is a win is a win and we take those.

score 4 runs and don't let them score 5. Easy enough to get us to 97 wins and an October to remember.

Imagine the team we could have if Ortiz and clase weren't bums?

u/ClumbsyVulture 2d ago
We would have probably traded Clase but still. We could have gotten something good for him instead on nothing

Not many teams can replace a lights out closer with lights out closer. Guards did.

Loving Rhys nodding along to Angel's post game presser, he's brought a great veteran presence to the team imo

We missed the first inning due to parking issues at two garages. Told my friend already there that we probably missed all the runs they were going to score. Whelp lol! Still a fun game, and I’ll watch the first inning on TV when I get home.

just seen Cooper Ingle hit a triple in person in Toledo, I’ve seen enough, bring him up

u/No_Contribution_7635 2d ago
Fairchild was absolutely the first guy to go for with all the benefits he brings. But hell yeah Ingle is next, we're DHing Hoskins for Pete's sake.
They'll find a way to get a guy up who's batting that good AND can call five correct ABS challenges in one night.

Nice activity from 3-4-5 tonight.
Billy Haywood from Little Big League would have been very proud.

I could only watch the game after the 2nd inning and you would’ve thought I was pranked by the way the game day thread was hyping us up and then I had to witness our bats die at the plate

Cade Smith settling into the closer role is a lifesaver. Dude is slamming the door on the regular.
