Discussion Any hopes for Season 2?
Genunely have been waiting for a while for the new manga translation and a new season to drop. I think vol 9 of the manga just dropped like a week ago. Do we have any chance for s2?

It’s based on LN, idk how it personally did in Japan in terms of ranking and profit for both the anime and LN, but I think that the ending for the series was not really what people wanted: besides that, I think if we were to get another season, it won’t be anytime as of this year but maybe next year

Yeah that's pretty much true. Like the ending wasn't that bad but the author genunely didn't give a definitive ending like Himari and Maho are still chasing after Saito romantically. And he lowk ended terms without making everything clear.
The studio has a bad reputation of making 12eps animes then trashing the project with no season 2s.
And I heard someone say like the anime was just produced as a "original source promoter" and that they don't really intend on any season 2.
Anyway I was hoping was hoping for an s2 because the real romance genuenly began right from where season 1 ended. But I'll say this. The anime ending was gneunely trash and we just went back to square one with that "I really hate you"...
But not only that they don't even upload new manga chapters NOR the fricking translations. I gneunely should just give up hope cuz these authors trash their ideas very easily. Welp I really liked this anime and uhm especially cuz of the romance with Himari.

Well, at the end of the day, Aniplex has the final say on making a second season. The studio, or in this case, the animation studios that made the anime, don't have a say in whether it's made or not. It all depends on how the manga is received in Japan, since, let's remember, anime is always initially designed for its base audience, that is, the East.
And speaking of the ending, I'd say we don't go back to the beginning as such, since we see that things with the protagonists have changed a lot. In the end, Saito is no longer indifferent to her and wants to hear more, and while Akane may have said she hates Saito (again), she's a very different Akane from the one in the first minute of the anime.
And the fact that anime has only been an original source promoter is a misconception; all anime of this type (romantic comedies) are, very few have a consistent following in terms of anime adaptations, and nowadays there are only a handful that break that mold or rule. We'll have to see how manga is primarily sold, since that's what's most taken into account.

Yes you're definitely right, I've seen the manga is lowk having rlly bad sales. The author, Seiju Amano, recently just posted on X promoting the Volume 9 of the manga and it's release. It rarely had any views and likes. I'd definitely buy it if it was available in my country tho lol.
Well this anime is just gonna end up like KimiZero.

Well, views on "Twitter" are one thing, but sales figures are another (which are doing somewhat well, as stated on the volume covers). Besides, saying it will do as well as Kimizero is a huge exaggeration, haha. I followed its case closely and it failed due to bad timing next to Marin and Gojo, both in anime and their literary works.
