Survey Thoughts on YouVersion?

I think its awesome that over one billion people have downloaded a bible app, but the fact that it's all the same one doesn't sit right with me. Especially when they say things specifically about their app in things like guided prayers, it just feels wrong.

yeah the monopoly thing is weird, like having one company control how most people read scripture feels sketchy to me

All my concerns are the usual sticking points to American Evangelical Mega-Churches.

It's fine. But personally I don't use it. I never cared for the devotions or anything like that and find the UI frustrating. Logos is my preferred but the resources on it are paid. For free I recommend Bible Gateway.

Nah, best read as scrolls and codices as God intended. Don’t want any of these new fangled books. /s

I din’t want to give the American Evangeical commercial complex my Bible business, bottom line. I do not need or want their Bibles, bestselling books, tschotskes, anything.

They aren't the only bible app company, so not really a monopoly.
