That was the last straw, I am coming back home to Chandler/Phoenix

I was told that I cant work in other terminals at the airport i work at now. I called the same company at Sky Harbor and I felt so great inside because I was treated like a human being and talked to nicely.

Shelley thinks its a bad idea to move back, but what does she know. Where i work at now is so toxic. I am a friendly and nice person and this airport I'm at doesn't care about their passengers. I was harshly told i need to work within my assigned terminal and that I have to sit around and do nothing once all flights leave for the day. What Shell does not know is that Phoenix is amazing.

Phoenix, I love and miss you so much. I want to extend an apology to my past former friends who no longer are friends because of big fallouts. Past former friends, i am sorry for not listening when you said i should not move to the location i am at now. I am ready to come back.

My credit is screwed up now, but Idc, I can't stand where I live anymore. I can't imagine staying here another year. Im just gonna rent an AirBnB or live at a Motel. Or roommates if college students are willing to accept me into their home in Tempe.

I will never leave Arizona again. And someone online right before I left said I would be back. They were right. Once an Arizonan always an Arizonan.

Moving to Chandler

Hi everyone! I am moving to Chandler with my fiance, we have toured multiple apartments and believe we have chosen Alta Uptown but have not officially signed lease. Just curious if anyone has anything to say about the apartment? How is the facility, the amenities, the shared community charges? We are coming from WI and are unsure what to expect pricing wise following the base rent with the added utilities they’ve tacked on. It’s also so hard to decipher how the community is as every single review for the apartment on google is from the tours and are nonresidents. So if there are any current or past resident that can give some insight on Alta Uptown that would be amazing! Thank you!

On a mission to explore the area

I just moved to Chandler and I’m tired of only going to work and coming home to set up this apartment 🙄 looking for fun things to explore weekly. Things I can do for a few hours after work and then bigger adventures for the weekend. Drinks are cool but I don’t wanna be plastered every day. I wanna explore! I think I’m gonna go to the Desert Botanical Gardens this weekend… but what else is there that’s within a 30 minute uber ride?

Anyone have a dry cleaner they use in S. Chandler that doesn’t cost a fortune?

Seems like everything else, dry cleaning has gotten ridiculously expensive. Anyone have any good recommendations for one in South-ish Chandler that does a good job, for a reasonable price? Thanks!

After months of anticipation, they are kicking off a massive two-day grand opening weekend celebration at the new spot in Crossroads Towne Center (2700 E. Germann Rd., right near Gilbert Road). If you are driving by or planning to head over, here is what the schedule and festivities look like for the weekend:
Opening Weekend Details
Saturday, May 23 (Grand Opening Day): Doors open at 11:00 AM and they will run until 9:00 PM. They are doing major giveaways for the launch, including a "Golden Keychain" for the very first customer in line (which unlocks buy-one-get-one free hot dogs for life), free t-shirts for the first 20 people, and a free hot dog for the first 100. There will also be free ice cream at their new walk-up window all day while supplies last.
**Sunday, May 24 (Buffalo Day): From 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, they are celebrating their Western New York roots. The first 50 customers who show up wearing Buffalo sports or city gear get a free hot dog.
What’s New at the Chandler Spot
This is their first Arizona expansion outside of the longtime Tempe location on Broadway, and they built this one from the ground up to feature a few modern upgrades:
A spacious outdoor patio and indoor nooks.
The brand's first-ever drive-thru
A walk-up ice cream window.
Exclusive menu items: The Chandler location is debuting a few exclusive options not found at the Tempe spot, including charcoal-grilled steak sandwiches and breakfast sandwiches.
If you see a crowd or cameras out there today, they are officially in high gear and ready to fire up the hardwood lump charcoal grills.

I am not affiliated, just damn excited to have a fun place to eat!

Yum, fresh buttery, croissants, and

My mom bakes sourdough bread, but she doesn’t live close enough for me to get it.

It’s on my list of things to learn, but in the meantime, I’m not sure how long this bakery has been around, but Copper State Bakery on the south east corner of Elliot and rural Road, the corner with the sprouts market, is my new favorite errand to run.

I went there for the sourdough bread and occasionally I also happily leave with the BLT, so delicious, or the croissants and I can’t pick my favorite between plain, cinnamon, and almond. Just heavenly.

I have not tried the pizzas yet, but that is next. Although I did buy the pizza dough and make my own once. That was fun.

Have you been there? What’s your favorite croissant? 🥐 What other bakeries nearby do you like? 👩‍🍳

Hair stylist for natural looking blonde with grey hair

I’ m looking for a stylist who understands how to blend blonde and gray. I’m not cheap, but I think 250 for base and mini highlights odds a lot. that sense to be there going rate.

The woman I’ve been going to is pricey and after 8 months is sloppy (leaving the base on the sides of my hairline) and the color is fading fast to orange. I just don’t think she cares anymore.

am I crazy to think I could find someone to do my roots, tone and chunky highlights for about 185-200? I need to go every 6 weeks and just do roots every other time.

Arizona Soap Supply

I’m not sure if anyone has shopped there before but they have been turned into “Maker’s Haven” about a year ago.

I remember going in one day before they switched over. The “new” owner was there just yapping away about how awesome it was going to be and how many more oils and other products they’d be getting. I kind of got a weird vibe from her honestly. The gal who already and still works there is super nice and doesn’t talk your ear off or try to oversell you on anything. That’s more than I can say for the new person who I haven’t seen since that weird interaction.

I’ve gone in a few times since then and every time, it just gets more and more bare. It’s less than half of what it used to be. Their essential oils are at least 60% less. Their fragrance oil shelves are almost empty. The ones I need are gone and haven’t been there since I went in after the change. Not to mention prices have gone up.

What’s worse is when I asked the main lady when their new shipment is coming, she said they didn’t have an ETA. And I felt bad for asking because she probably gets that a lot. It’s not easy to tell customers that you’re out of stock and don’t have any info.

Has anyone else been there before? I really loved it and want to continue to support this shop. I make really uniquely scented candles, body oils and room mists that people really like. There’s no other store like it as far as I know. But I can’t help but feel like the original owners got scammed. It’s really disheartening.

Anybody here rollerskate / inline skate outdoors?

I love inline skating but I don't like skating at rinks. I prefer the open air and not being confined to a circle. Is there anybody here that goes skating at parks like Tempe Town Lake or urban skating? Or anyone practice slalom?

Summer activities for young teens

What is everyone doing with their young teens during working hours this summer?

This is our first summer having this type of schedule so we have never had to think about this before. Younger sibling is going to “camp” at his school. But oldest exceeds the age for the school summer care.

I don’t really want my young teen home 8 hours a day alone multiple days a week.

Looking for suggestions, recommendations.

Don’t suggest “family” we have no family
Here. We live in a subdivision with few younger families and they are all going away for the summer (my oldests bff).

PSA scammy dentists in the area

Hi yall! I had commented on a post looking for advice on dentistry in the area and noticed that mods deleted my comments. Nothing I commented was false or even slightly inappropriate for this page. I wanted to make a separate post with more context to clear any confusion.

In December 2023 I visited the dentist for the first time in 10 years, Dr. Cefalo.
Trusting and naïve, I told the "dr" this. I also told him that my biggest insecurity was my smile but unsure why. He asks me if it is because my teeth tilt inward and I have a gummy smile. Yes! That's it, I hadn't been able to put my finger on it but gummy smile, hated it.
Dr. Cefalo insures me that Invisalign is something that could correct my overbite. Not camouflage. Not help. He convinced me for two years and 3 refinement trays that Invisalign would CORRECT my overbite.
I asked many questions, upon asking for my client files none of which were documented. Only that "dr answered all of pts questions".
Questions that were along the lines of, would brackets be faster?
Is this working?
Will my molars come outward as well? (Constant mention of front 4-6 teeth being stuck on bone and they're just being stubborn).
Constant ear pain finally led me to a primary care doc, which led me to an ENT. Where I found out Invisalign was never, and could never correct an overbite.
When I told dr Cefalo my new treatment plan (pallet expander and two years of brackets) he acted shocked and surprised, saying he didn't imagine it would be so invasive. I also asked him if he could tell I had been grinding my teeth, said yes but nothing concerning. (Shocker, teeth grinding caused my ear pain).
Dr. Davis did give me a refund when I brought my concerns to the office, which had me conflicted on what to do next. But ultimately, what Dr Cefalo did was incredibly evil and I think people should know about it. My next question I wanted to be on record Dr, are you dumb? Didn't see a jaw discrepancy and/or thought plastic could fix it? Or are you poor? You needed to scam someone who CLEARLY doesn't come from luck or money (ie hadn't been to the dentist in 10 years)?

ETA: this happened at Chandler Dental
