Support / How-To Highlights and saving
Hi, I seem to have a problem. I was unable to export my highlights in calibre so I decided to try converting the file to a pdf( don't ask me why the brain fart moment). Once I did that all my highlights disappeared. Now I'm only able to open it in the e book viewer via the browse annotations section, it's not available in the elibrary in calibre anymore. What do I do? How do I save the epub with highlights so it shows up in my library? And how do I export the file as a whole with the highlights (save to disk is not working for me)?
P.s no idea about any coding languages etc.
Pls help a bud out. DESPERATE.

When you right-click on the book entry in Calibre, go to View > View specific format. Is the epub not there? Simply converting a book shouldn't delete the original format.
Generally speaking, you can't embed highlights into an epub since the epub format itself doesn't support that. If you want to preserve your highlights in the epub, you'll need to figure out what other epub viewer you want to use and see if you can convert the calibre highlights into whatever format is needed for that other viewer. It will most likely not be straightforward.
