Game Finder 🎲 Anyone want to join my dnd campaign (in person only - Hartcliffe)? Got 2 spaces in campaign about 30% through (level 7)
Hi
I've been running a dnd campaign for about the last 6/7 months and unfortunately over the last few months 2 of our players have had to drop out for the forseeable future due to work/life changes, so I am looking to fill their places.
If you would like to join, please leave a reply with your availability and experience. Thanks!
---------------
Location: Copper Building, Lakeshore Drive, Hartcliffe (by Imperial Retail Park)
Schedule: We play once per week and are currently thinking of changing the day, but we can all do Tuesdays (our current day, but not the best for one of us anymore), Wednesdays and Fridays, We play between around 6pm and 10pm.
Players: Currently 4 of us (including me as DM, looking for 2 people. Doesn't matter if you're a complete beginner! The group just hit level 7 so you'd be coming in at that level (you can play one of the current characters that are free or make your own).
We have a Satyr Warlock that finds himself intermittently possessed by a powerful demon through his cursed flail, a Genasi Sorceror who finds himself getting along with the aforementioned demon more often recently, and a Dragonborn Fighter who sometimes has a tendency to act somewhat on impulse.
The 2 'free' characters are a Tiefling Paladin and an Elf Cleric with OP healing skills.
What to expect: We don't take ourselves too seriously and no one has to "be in character" or anything if they don't feel like it. It is pretty laid back and I host in the apartment I share with my partner who plays one of the other characters.
Campaign Details
It is a homebrew campaign called Rise of the Devourer made by me but set in the official world and using the official 5e rules. A brief description of the main questline so far is:
The group started off as kidnapped prisoners being transported. They escaped and found some links in the local village to explain what happened. People have been going missing and being used in sacrificial rituals of power by someone called Lord Fazrahl.
They tracked this to a city called Verbobonc and the surrounding areas and put a stop to the operations there. They have discovered that another part of the organisation runs in another nearby city and are currently tying up loose ends before moving on.
Obviously there is a lot more than has happened and that is an incredibly brief description but I didn't want to make this post too long. If you want to read the sessions notes the players have made you can do so here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yekvtZEb3W-jj90oaQGsH0vIuDG0Ws-YDr2DVSJp3Xs/edit?usp=sharing
There is also another platform we use with more organisational structure but you can gain access to that when you join.

Game Finder 🎲 I'm setting up a D&D group
Alright, let's try a different approach. I noticed that there are a lot of people looking for a group but there are not many available. So to all those people I say, let's set up a D&D group ourselves. I can host it at my place in Bedminster for at least the first few times. Heck I'll even throw in some snacks and drinks for those that come. I would DM if I could but I'm new to the game, so we would need at least one person taking in that role. So for whoever is interested in joining a D&D group, send a message my way

Hi everyone,
I've just recently moved back to Bristol with my girlfriend and we're looking to join a D&D group if possible.
Would anyone know of a game with a couple of spare spaces or where to look?
Thank you :)

Game Finder 🎲 New to Bristol, new to D&D
Hi,
I just moved to Bristol and I'd really like to play D&D; I played once or twice when I was in my early teens, but other than that I don't have any experience. I'm a 36 year old bloke and have my life in order so I can commit to most meets in the evening or at weekends. If there's any groups out there who want to take on a newbie, please let me know (and also what equipment/books I should get!). Ta B

I Made This! 🛠️ Custom dice boxes for our D&D campaign
I decided to get some custom dice boxes made for my party-mates and our DM.
I found CustomDiceBox on etsy and knew that what was offered was perfect!
Last weekend, I designed logos for each character in Adobe Illustrator and spoke with Shaun from CustomDiceBox to decide on the size of the boxes.
The final products are amazing and would highly recommend Shaun's work to all of you.
I decided to wrap them in a D&D-esque brown paper and string and asked my calligrapher friend to write brilliant labels for our characters.
Our DM, /u/bertramja, worked the gifts into the story excellently.
Here's an album of the finished products and a Facebook post that Shaun wrote.
I would love to hear what you all think!
Cheers,
Tau

Resource 🧰 Link to ALL DnD 5e books & PDFs
Hi All,
I came across this list of what seems to be the majority, if not all, of the books and printed material from 5e. If you click on the blue arrow on any particular book/item you can then download it as a PDF and save it for your own reference.
Obviously I'm not condoning printing this off but thought that it would make a great complement to any print books you already have or are thinking of buying.

Chatter 💬 DnD app (link inside because the mods are fascists)
As seen in the whatsapp group: http://www.theverge.com/2017/3/12/14899974/wizards-of-the-coast-dungeons-and-dragons-beyond-cursed-rpg-gaming
Hopefully this will allow more expanded record keeping, and if your group is anything like ours, help standardise the sheet used a little! I'm excited to see what's available and then immediately hunt for homebrew addons, just like the real thing :)

Chatter 💬 [LMOP SPOILERS][Story] The Winds of Fate
I titled this with spoilers, but I think my group is moving the slowest anyway. Our story begins in the Redbrand hideout, where our characters (A klepto bard named Eric, Iris the rogue, Regis the face-melting cleric, A Misanthropic ranger named Aramil, Krell the kobold cleric, and the valiant soldier who was just a normal bloke, Sharpe) have stumbled upon a mysterious room, filled with arcane secrets and brewing potions. After a brief search (and looting) of the room, the party discover a reinforced wooden crate, shaking as a creature attempted to break out. After a quick discussion, our brave heroes decided to surround the box, peppering it with arrows and crossbow bolts. The box, being an inanimate object, stubbornly refused to bleed to death in the face of their assault, so they pulled back to a more strategically sound position. After regrouping, Eric cast sleep at the irate crate, hoping to calm the suspiciously ratlike creature within.
At this point, it's important to point out that Aramil, the ranger, keeps a detailed list of every insult he's ever received, intended or otherwise, and attempts to pay them back at an opportune moment. Seeing his chance, he shoves Regis into the spell's radius, causing him to go unconscious immediately, whilst the container remained unruffled. After sheepishly waking the napping cleric, the party's resident heals-on-wheels kobold throws a tiny flame at the crate, hoping to injure the animal within, as well as revealing their new foe. However, the shot was very unlucky, and simply disintegrated the crate, revealing the terrifying, if petite, visage of the creature that was now free.
Amidst his mad experiments, the Redbrand leader Glassstaff had alchemically altered common vermin with mystical fragments of the city-destroyer itself. Now, in all its glory, there was revealed some of his finest work.
A TARRATSQUE!
Stricken with fear at the imposing creature before him, Sharpe panicked and backed into the wall. Despite his history as a soldier and protector of the innocent, he felt unequipped and unready to defend his fellows, and so drew on the desperation within his heart (he had just multiclassed into sorceror, and tried to witch bolt the terratsque, but missed.)
Unfortunately, the aetherial power of the Weave was more than his inexperienced body could contain, and a surge of Wild Magic filled him (Nat 1 on his spellcasting roll). Consumed by his fear at the creature before him, he released the energy in a corona around him, igniting the atmosphere with raw, unshaped might (fireball on the surge table, 37 damage).
The good news was that the Terratsque was killed. The bad news is that Krell was too, and Aramil and Regis were dying.
Unfortunately, Aramil had popped into the local miners' exchange, and picked up a horn of gunpowder for use later. Despute trying to shield it with his body, the horn caught handily (Nat 1), causing a secondary explosion which killed Regis and almost killed Aramil himself.
And that was the day the group tank was so scared of a weird-looking rat that he shat a fireball. (I edited out a few moves in combat as they weren't relevant, but the rolls were incredible.)

Chatter 💬 [Story] Introduction to our group
Well I'd like to get in first and introduce my group. We currently have an Elven Wizard named Aluf, a Blue Half-Orc Sorcerer (Hence the blueness) called Grug, a Dwarven Paladin called Torja, an Elven Postman-Ranger called Azzazarith (Azza for short) and a Homicidal Halfling Bard known as Good.
We've discovered that Aluf has a penchant for sucking the souls out of poor innocent creatures and is not at all bothered by Necromancy. His interest in seeking knowledge has put him on a bit of a slippery slope! His interest in seeking knowledge also means that he is probably too busy reading his book to care that you're being attacked, no, nor being eaten by a dragon.
Our dear Grug has a noble goal of being a hero, of using his new found powers for good! He has, of course, killed several innocents, aided in a military coup and killed his favorite companion since. He may well become the BBEG of the campaign at some point - more than likely between bouts of sobs, apologizing and the odd "I didn't want this"...
Our Holy Paladin has yet to really find his feet. He has certain morals, of this we're sure. He certainly doesn't want to kill humans, and would much rather deal with them in non-lethal terms. Setting fire to a Goblin's home and smoking them out into some sort of killing floor, however, seems to be completely okay. Eh, who am I to judge?
Our beloved Azza is the naive folk hero of our group. I'm sure he still thinks that he's with a bunch of good friends on a path to save the world and more or less just turns a blind eye to most of the slaughtering his companions do. Often known for breaking the number one rule of "Don't split the party", Azza can normally be seen with a look of sheer wonder which is then rapidly replaced with a look of sheer horror, just in time to work out what he's gotten himself into this time.
Finally, we have our psychotic Bard. Good. No, I mean their name is Good. Literally, their name is Good. Often in a position of selling narcotics, or trying to stab someone or indeed stabbing someone, Good is often the initiator of the party's conflicts. With no clear gender or defining features, bar the trenchcoat which hides their identity, it makes it quite hard to talk about them in third person.
And so, that is our party. Our band of merry mis-adventurers. We are not the good guys.

Chatter 💬 Feel free to Post Stories, if they have LMOP Spoilers please put [LMOP SPOILERS] in the Title
Hello you lovely pieces of human. It seems this Sub has quietened down a fair bit now that we're all happily in our groups hacking and slashing away at poor creatures.
I thought it might be a nice idea if we can start spreading the love and tell each others stories of our games. Obviously placing a Spoiler Tag and which chapter of the game you're in (If you're playing LMOP).
I know I love hearing about other people's games so I'd love to hear about yours!
