I am a sweet-tooth person, and if I could, I would only eat sweets, but I am also genetically prone to diabetes, so I am taking it very seriously. First, not to overstimulate insulin, I always eat sugar last, like after a meal that is balanced with protein and good carbs/ fat.

For a month now, I have been trying to tone up, so I basically stopped eating sugar, except berries (all types of berries), kiwi, and cherry tomatoes/ carrots. I have to say, my cravings have disappeared for now.

Of course, there are many factors; sugar is also consumed by drinking (alcohol, juice, cocktails, fizzy drinks).

As for dairies, I eat Skyr/cottage cheese every day, so I am not in a position to give advice, but I have also paused eating cheese, and cravings have disappeared as well.

Consistency is key; rather than making drastic changes immediately, try starting by reducing your sugar intake by around 40 - 60% compared to your usual habits and then gradually build from there

Good luck

Hello! Thank you for this advice. Ive recently got my fasting blood sugar taken and its normal. Not even close to High. I dont eat sugar/dairy A LOT but Ive always had the urge to consume them. My main goal is to really cut them off.

Cold turkey. It is REALLY difficult for a month or two, but once it's completely out of your system you will feel amazing and eventually not crave it at all anymore. Now all food has so much better flavor and I taste the sweetness of apples, berries, fruits etc so much more. And "regular" desserts just taste awful to me. But it does take some time and the withdrawals can be tough.
