This tiny little survivor is the silky anteater, the smallest anteater in the world, perfectly adapted for life high in the trees.

Found in the tropical forests of Central and South America, this rare species uses its curved claws for climbing and protection while feeding mainly on ants hidden among branches. Its soft golden fur also helps it blend into its surroundings, making it incredibly difficult to spot in the wild.

Photographer Amanda Jones spent years documenting dogs at two very different moments in their lives: once as energetic young companions and again years later as aging friends.

The project, Dog Years, began with her own dachshund Lily (last slide), whom Jones photographed from the day she came home. That personal habit eventually evolved into a long term photo series capturing the passage of time through the faces, posture, and expressions of dogs growing older.

By placing the portraits side by side, Jones highlights how much time has passed while showing that each dog’s personality remains instantly recognizable, even as fur fades and bodies slow down.
