Where to read Etsusa Bridge
I'm a huge Durarara fan, want to read Etsusa bridge but all the websites use this link that I assume is no longer active, was wondering what other people use?

Welcome to our latest fortnightly Narita(verse) Friday thread! Here, you can discuss Durarara!!, Vamp!, Etsusa Bridge, and Wednesdays Smiling with Otsuberu, the four other works by Ryohgo Narita that share a universe with Baccano!—i.e. the Naritaverse.
Per early thread feedback, you may also discuss Narita's works that aren't set in the Naritaverse (e.g. DMDP, Stealth Symphony, Hariyama-san, Center of the World, et cetera). Suffice it to say, many don't have dedicated subreddits or discussion spaces of their own. Some likely never will.

Finished Vol. 5 the other day and the ending inspired me to make this fake satirical Clickhole-style article. For context, Clickhole is a news website known for satirizing content farm sites like BuzzFeed.
Enjoy!
---

Over half a year ago, citizens of a local village were greeted with an unpleasant surprise at breakfast when they took a sip of water and suddenly found themselves wracked with the guilt of the allegedly terrible things they'd done to the local abused children. That's already nasty enough, but get this: It's never going to leave. According to reports, that water will make them spend every day of their life remembering what they did to those children and living with the guilt, pain, and suffering.
Talk about a win for humanity!
It's not every day that you get to see perfect karmic retribution dealt so cleanly and efficiently. But this one hero went above and beyond, making use of an amazing new liquid that can instantly curse people with agonizing remorse for the rest of their living days. He just took that bad boy and plopped it into the village's local water supply, all with a great big smile on his face! Living proof that doing good deeds only makes you happier!
We tried to reach this potential Nobel Peace Prize winner, but we saw he was busy making some children smile and knew we couldn't interrupt our generation's Mother Teresa in his work. We were able to track down a strange masked friend of his, who had this to say:
"That was pretty clever of him, I admit. I still would've preferred to slaughter everyone in the village and paint the streets with their blood, but this will do, I suppose."
Um, hello? Mass murder is so last year! The hot new thing is endless psychological torment and forcing people to live with themselves. Geez, for someone who seems to care about justice, this guy is really behind the times.
We also talked to a bespectacled friend of his about the potential implications of this super awesome miracle liquid and how it could be used to guilt-trip people for other terrible misdeeds, such as murder, infidelity, and telling your friend you'll be there in five minutes but you're actually in bed and you'll be late again like you always fucking are you stupid piece of shit. He had this to say:
"Oh... Hmm, I can see how you might've made that mistake. But the water isn't exactly something that makes people feel guilty. Or at least, that's not its purpose. It's actually a little more complicated than that. Um... how did Elmer explain it again? Think of it like a video game..."
And then he said a bunch of stupid nonsense that proves he's never played a single video game in his entire life. Clearly, this nerd is wrong and we just found a revolutionary guilt-tripping juice that needs to be shared with the entire world.
We also learned he was in organized crime, so we asked him how he could use his mafia connections to get the juice on the black market, at least. But then he just rambled about how he was actually a "Camo Rasta" or whatever. Like okay dude, I like Bob Marley too, but who cares? It's obvious that this guy is a fucking dork and his friend who smiles a lot is way cooler.
Sadly, we can't give any good news on when this substance will finally hit the shelves and you can take it to a local water treatment plant then watch as the town's worst criminals and most annoying mother-in-laws grapple with their filthy, disgusting souls. But until then, we recommend volunteering in your community and finding other ways to ethically poison your local water supply.

I binged watched all of Baccano tonight and wow i am certainly lost for words.
This show really grabbed me from the start, before watching it i searched if i should know anything before watching and i saw something about focus on what u see and what’s happening. with that in mind the first episode is very confusing but i know it’s trying to tell a story backwards at first, all these big events with characters you have no connections too yet. But as the story progresses and you meet more of the cast, know their ideals and personalities, you link it back to the first couple of episodes and how some events ended up.
I really liked the interconnected of the show, the random moments where characters cross paths at times you didn’t even know had any correlation and that’s what i find so impressive. The characters are really just the cherry on top about it all, such a wide range of so many different personalities what all seem to have their unique charms when focused on individually.
The Rail tracer is one of my favourite characters and especially his introduction, when u first meet him you get the impression he was just a poor conductor who was just in a bad place at a bad time, many characters keep revisiting his so to be corpse but when it’s revealed that wasn’t him it was just so awesome.
The show has a very good sense of pace and style, there’s so much to keep you on ur toes or even freak u out at times (especially when the rail tracer starts pulling people out windows XD) but most of all it felt so impulsive, that anything could happen at any time.
I have nothing but praise for this show and i am so glad i watched it in one sitting, to be honest when i first watch a show it usually takes me a few episodes to fully get into it, but with Baccano i was hooked from the start and couldn’t end up putting it down until the very end. I truly recommend this to everyone because how impressive i found it in so many unique aspects.

As always,if you have just gotten into the other audiobook volumes or are catching up with the audiobook releases like I am..
Then I would very much like to hear your thoughts of either this volume or the previous ones.
I didn't realize that a posh accent would work with a character like the poet.
Sickle's fits her personality and ofc Christopher is gonna come back so I can't wait to hear the rest of the audiobook.
Can't wait to hear Graham in the next volume!

Okay, I'm not a fan of Narita's works, but doesn't anyone else feel annoyed like me when his works are described "just" as a 'fun'? I think that description is very unfair, especially since I read Baccano, his character writing and dialogue were extremely innovative, and the point of the whole story was also brilliant. I think the reason is that when his works are adapted into anime a lot of things are always cut out, which leaves viewers confused, but it's still annoying

Hi. I haven't read anything by Narita. I heard that baccano is his best work but is very long, and while Durarara is shorter, I've heard is not as good. Then, would it be a good idea to start with Etsusa Bridge?

Okay, I know very well that he is completely empty and broken because of his past, and he is selfish. All he wants is to see smiles, and he cannot feel genuine emotions toward others, nor does he understand romance.
But I have always wanted to see him feel real emotions toward some situation or someone like niki "for example" since she is the only one he felt comfortable telling about his past so that she would understand him or maybe other person to seeing him love someone for even a moment as a conclusion to his story.
Btw, what are your thoughts about the ending of his story if Narita releases the remaining volumes?

For those people who have just started the novel, is it true that every story in baccano stands on its own? I mean, I saw someone say something that surprised me: that if you start by reading the events of the 1933 volumes for example, it will seem like an independent story, and you won’t need to read the previous volumes to understand what happened??
