nursing prerequisites
I am currently going to SFU, and planning to apply for BCIT nursing when I finish taking my prerequisites courses. I know that the prerequisites are Eng199W, BPK courses and one psych course at SFU.
However I got really bad grade ( like C) for my health science course last semester which lowers my gpa and cgpa a lot. This course is not a prerequisite course for nursing but since I am a health science major, don’t you think health science grade is also really important for my nursing application. I’ve heard it is really competitive.
So I am planning to retake health sci course. But retaking it does not change the final grade for the specific course it just changes my overall cgpa and gpa. Do you think it will help for me to retake for my application? I am just worried if my low cGPA would lead to rejection to nursing program.

Im an HSCI alum and a current BSN student.
Don’t waste your money retaking the HSCI courses. Make sure you’re passing the classes and getting that degree, even if it’s 65.5% on the dot. I also had a shit CGPA (2.5-2.67). They, in fact, do not care if you got your degree in HSCI or underwater basket weaving.
Apply to a college like Langara, VCC, Douglas and take your prep reqs there. It’s cheaper and you’ll know it will actually transfer (double check the courses you’re going to take does transfer tho). The BPK course is harder and more expensive.

It depends on how many credits you have. If u have a lot like 60+ it doesn’t matter to retake the courses cus they usually accept people with degrees and more credits
