Discussion What kind of characteristics should Pavi have/do you expect her to have?

Pavi being the newest avatar with two other avatar series, multiple comics, and other side stories makes standing out incredibly important for her; we need her distinct enough for a new story to be told.

So, what should Pavi be like?

In my opinion, I think Pavi should be shy, precise, and covert, but still stubborn and a bit of a rascal like Toph. Her design, expression, and pose already seem to suggest she may be shy (something about her eyes especially), so kudos to whoever designed her and drew her if that was the intention. Shy protagonists are a hit or miss imo, but they can do it without making her passive.

Make her struggle more than Aang and Korra to gain allies; both of them didn't have too many issues socially. Aang was playful and friendly, and Korra never backed down from speaking her mind. In a world where the Avatar is disliked, Pavi dealing with this loneliness and being more cautious with people makes sense and would possibly make it more difficult to connect with her sister. She also already has lost a leg.

And talking about people disliking the Avatar, again, her being covert makes sense. This can play into her fighting style; she can focus on sneak attacks. For fight scenes where she's in the open, she can use things like sand and glass to hide herself from view and strike enemies from behind. This also would make her a unique earthbender compared to what we've already seen. She can still be really good, but not exactly like Toph.

Her being stubborn of course is still necessary, and being mischievous would be fun.

I think she should also know quite a bit about technology around her, maybe even know how to make a few basic things. Yes it's an apocalyptic scenario, but I still imagine that some mechanics and remnants of the city would exist. Maybe even underground or something.

Another thing, I wonder if she'll be a bit more misguided? In the conflict between humans and spirits, will she take the wrong side and end up causing more harm at first before understanding? Not necessarily evil, but with no past avatars to go off off besides Korra, many people against her, she has more of a chance to make very big mistakes. I think this would be realistic in her setting and again, make her stand out.

Side note, sorry if I got some things wrong; I didn't finish LOK.

I hope Pavi is shy. that could differentiate her from Aang and Korra who are very outgoing

It's very possible. If you look at the art of her posted all over this sub, she has a hand in front of her like she's trying to shield herself from something, one arm is barely out and low as if not to go too far, and her smile looks like she's not trying to smile too hard. Overall her pose looks very "closed" to me, with her limbs close to her body. Her eyes are also bright and staring up, almost as if she isn't sure what to do.

"Remember Pavi, with great power, comes great responsibility "- Uncle Iroh probably ✌️.

They find a reason to make Iroh appear again, however briefly, because it's Iroh.

I want an old Zuko and uncle Iroh sitting around a campfire helping pavi meditate in her tough times

For me, I think she would have a strong sense of fun and mischief (given her age) but also a healthy mistrust of others, leading her to project a screen of being a joker/class clown to deflect from her inner thoughts and turmoil. This might lead to others seeing her as a little bird-brained but underneath she is quite perceptive.

I also expect her to be friendly, even protective, towards kids and animals, acting as a playful big sister or babysitter for those smaller and younger than herself. As such, patience and a gentle nudge would be her strong suit.

Lastly, I expect she would have strong empathy for people dealing with illnesses and injuries given her own disability. She'd likely have seen a number of people die from insufficient or delayed care and would be very grateful for her own survival while also striving to help as many people as possible.

Don't think so. I think they'll both be mix between Aang and Korra and their choice will be more like who to lean on and that'll make both the twins different from each other and from Aang and Korra.

It would be funny if she’s just fanon Kyoshi.

Immediately jumping to kill someone(?) Not sure what else "fanon kyoshi" implies.

I wonder if it will be a bit like the Indra/Ashura reincarnations from Naruto, where Pavi is considered an underdog that people dont take seriously.

Meanwhile Nisha is confident, outspoken, skilled, and considered a bit of a prodigy.

I hope she is timid and shy. Unconfident and scared, like Liko from Pokemon. The setting is post-apocalyptic so an awkward Avatar is appropriate.
