Product Review Has anyone tried this and what is actually the difference
A few months ago I got some email saying la Roche possay new sunscreen innovation coming soon and I guess this is it. But I’m struggling to figure out what actually was innovated here. Please let me know if you have tried it and noticed any differences.

It’s the particular UV filters that are different. I have been using UVmune for the past year after picking it up in London and I love it.

u/spicyrendition Apr 05 '26
Yes I have been waiting for this to finally arrive here after using it in Europe. It’s excellent

u/RipendGrain Apr 06 '26
How does it feel compared to the normal version?
15
u/spicyrendition Apr 06 '26
It’s very similar, but I would say maybe slightly thicker. It has less of that grainy feeling that I seemed to get from the old formula

u/peachprincejh Apr 06 '26
Does it pill? Couldn’t make the Anthelios work especially under makeup so i’m hesitant to try this

u/PrestigiousFigs Apr 06 '26
I haven’t had any issues with it pilling but I don’t really wear any traditional foundation over it.
I use tinted serums and hourglass tinted skin tint as well as balm blushes and hourglass powder with no issue.

The main difference is the filters. The UVMune 400 line uses Mexoryl 400, which gives better protection against ultra-long UVA (the deeper-penetrating wavelengths linked to ageing). The Invisible Fluid still has strong broad-spectrum protection, but UVMune is basically an upgrade specifically for UVA coverage.

Hello, is there any chance you can explain more about the age spot product you mentioned? I googled but can't find an anthelios product with that name, so I guess I've misunderstood what you meant.

Hello! Thanks for the link but I am confused. Isn't this the product OP has posted meaning it is already here in Australia?

I’m aware it has a new UV filter but what does it feel like? I have always found LRP quite greasy.

u/SuperstarDJay Apr 06 '26
I have never looked so shiny as I did when I tried this stuff. And not in a good way.

u/off__it Apr 06 '26
Yeah even the person in this picture looks hella greasy!! I feel like everyone is constantly chasing this “glass skin” look but just end up just looking like they swapped out their makeup sponge with a piece of bacon 😭

I bought a bottle in Paris when I was on holiday there in 2024. As others have said, the main difference is the filters. I love this sunscreen, especially as someone with oily and acne prone skin. I’m thrilled it’s finally available here in Australia as it is definitely HG status for me.

Is LRP cheaper in Europe? I’m heading over in August and was wondering if I should just get them there because it’s a bit too pricey for me.
12
u/jenndolyn Apr 06 '26
I went to Germany in December and tbh the price difference was pretty small (bear in mind this was the lead up to Christmas and I wasn't looking for sales). Personally I'd get what you can here when CW has its 40% off sales and pick up the stuff we don't have while you're in Europe.
2
u/spicyrendition Apr 06 '26
Yeah I agree, if anything I would say it is more expensive in a lot of countries in Europe
5
u/WeaselWithAnEasel Apr 06 '26
I only buy during the 40% off sales at priceline and chemist warehouse. There is normally 2 a year for each and I try to get 6 months worth at a time. Priceline also does some 30% off sometimes.

For anyone with oily skin and has tried the new product, is it mattifying and doesn't leave you like an oily mess by the afternoon?
My current face spf is perfect for me, but I do want to switch back to LRP, and this product sounds promising being 'ultra invisible'. Unfortunately their invisible fluid wasn't suitable for my skin type.

The oily-skin version of the UVMune fluid (green stripe) is WAY less greasy than the original one.
I do find it quite yellow though, even moreso than the original one. I do prefer the gel-creme UVMune for oily skin. That one is more wearable with a similar finish though it isn't as light feeling.

I actually find the oil control liquid slightly better for oil control than the oil control gel-creme for me.
But agreed it is quite yellow. I mix a couple of drops of the tinted which helps mitigate it without making it too dark (I’m ~N15). Either that or purple colour corrector (primer or powder) but I find mixing easiest.

I haven’t tried it yet (still trying to get through a bottle of anthelios xl) but Michelle has a review on Lab Muffin which tempered my expectations as a slightly oily gal who likes to stay matte.

I don’t have oily skin, but to be honest you might find it a bit too suffocating if you’re using the recommended amount. Even with my dry skin walking around in summer I did tend to look pretty greasy at times

Can anyone explain the differences between this and Hamilton Everyday Face? Is one superior in terms of function (i.e. filters)? Just wondering if the price difference is actually worth it. I love the texture and consistency of Hamilton - don’t even notice I’m wearing it.
6
u/spicyrendition Apr 06 '26
The filters are definitely more advanced but whether that’s worth the price is really up to you
1
u/wise_mind_on_holiday Apr 06 '26
I use both and this one is a nice lighter feel for me than Hamilton everyday face

I just picked it up and used it all weekend (four applications a day (4days) in Outback QLD on a Campdraft with sweat sun and dust) I’m obsessed with how my skin feels after use!!

Excellent new filters. It is amazing. I bought the UVMune Anti Dark Spots version in London last year, loved it and stocked up, and am now hanging out for more!

u/noideawhattouse1 Apr 05 '26
I’d also like to know because my sceptical brain immediately assumed it’d be something silly like the bottle top, or the amount that comes out when squeezed not an actual formula innovation.

u/donkeyvoteadick Apr 05 '26
Just responding to you so you get a notification to come back as others have commented the difference now.

lol OF COURSE I just bought two of the invisible fluid as part of my regular restocking. So I won’t be trying the new one for a while. I’d be interested to hear how the UVmune goes!

How do you guys go with the regular invisible fluid?
I love the ease of application, BUT, while having it on, I look like im going through a bad rosacea flare up whilst simultanously running a marathon on a hot humid day.
I find it sits better when I mix it with their matte product.

u/Beginning-End-5883 Apr 08 '26
It’s a really liquidy consistency and goes on really nice and smooth but it doesn’t dry down very well so stays shiny and a bit tacky to the touch. It wears ok under makeup and it doesn’t pill or cake like some other sunscreens I’ve tried BUT this made even my most waterproof mascara smudge like crazy and I was apparently walking around all day with big black smears all around my eyes.
3
u/flygod28 Apr 06 '26
Only thing about these sunscreens is they have “denatured alcohol” in them. Apparently not great for the skin barrier. Saw Dr. V Rattan on YT talking about it, also paulas choice has info about it too.

u/Just_Wolf-888 Apr 06 '26
I recommend to listen to actual chemists and cosmetic formulators.
Nothing to worry about alcohol in skincare.
Here you have a link to Labmuffin's video on this topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JT-6bZU0-b8

Yeah it stings when I have damaged my barrier. I end up going without sunscreen. Currently trying to find one that won’t sting when my face is compromised

Can someone confirm whether this different formula will still likely sting like the previous? Sincerely, desperate to use yet value my eyes.
2
u/lepressexpress Apr 06 '26
I use it and can confirm it can sting your eyes. I’ve accidentally worn it to a sweaty yoga class a couple of times and suffered the consequences. I still love it though.

potentially dumb question but what does the french version of this sunscreen look like? in avignon rn and can’t seem to find it or anything with the same colouring/wording
1
u/FlutterbyeEscapes Apr 07 '26
Will look like this bottle I’m pretty sure.
1
u/Sure_Fee2112 Apr 07 '26
welp, maybe it’s just sold out everywhere here then - nothing with the same colouring (and google translate is not showing anything that says “ultra invisible fluid”). thanks for responding, though!

Weirdly, I was using this when on holiday in NZ and of course has to be reapplied regularly however I ended up with more pigmentation on face than I went there with so that was annoying!

Why are you trying to bring politics into skincare…
1
u/Stallionbutnot Apr 09 '26
Why are so so privileged you don’t think everything is political especially as a woman. You must be white
