Product Review Found an alternative to Aquaphor or CeraVe Healing Ointment
I love those products, but you can’t really get Aquaphor in AU (you have to buy it online), and I find that CeraVe is a bit pricey, even for the smaller tube. The La Roche Posay balm is also on the expensive side, so I was looking for a more affordable option that you can easily get here.
This product is basically a petrolatum-based ointment with the same kind of texture as those — great as an occlusive. Of course, Vaseline works just fine, but this is a good option if you just want something with extra humectant ingredients to help with hydration. I been personally using it as a lip balm.
The box even says it’s suitable for babies, and I believe it’s a German brand (you’ve probably seen their bandages in stores).
Here’s the ingredient list: White Petrolatum, Thin Paraffin Oil, Ceresin Wax, Glycerin, Panthenol, Glyceryl Stearate

This product is an absolute sleeper agent !!!
Grazed knees, dry lips, burst blisters from rude shoes, new tattoos, lasered off tattoos, cooked skin barrier, scratches , itches , scabs, under eyes when u cried too much and they're red raw
Prob wouldn't use it on new sunburn or laser, just because the petrolatum will keep heat in ur skin, but a few days in when u have the flakies: yes
Good for post sex injuries too but don't use it if u use condoms
I have also used this on my cat who has had the chronic itchies / hay fever and post surgery after she had skin cancer removed and she also tolerated it very well

This is the GOAT. It healed my second degree burn on my arm from my oven grill beautifully. The scar is there but only discernible from the slight difference in texture with the rest of my skin. Created a fab environment for the burn to heal (after proper first aid of course). Have used on other minor skin conditions and it’s just so good.

I love this stuff!! It’s safe for pets too! If they’re licking something they shouldn’t like a scab, it helps create a barrier and it’s got no nasties in it! Obviously don’t feed it to them haha

Yess I haven't experienced any peeling on my lips since I started using this. Most lip balms just worsen my dry lips 😭

Even Lucas’ Paw Paw? My holy grail

Lucas Paw Paw is definitely good! I’m mainly talking about lip balms that contains a ton of stuff

Ahh yes, if I use anything other than good ole Lucas’ my lips peel like a mandarin. I have put bepanthen on a few times but it literally tastes like shit

$7 for 100g I think will be worth a try, getting through other things first.

I am really liking the Elastoplast ointment but it’s good to know that there’s other options:))

Another ointment to consider is Dr Pickles. I use that for my tattoo healing, and also just cute and grazes. Really good stuff.

Your nails are perfect. Also good find. The la Roche one isn’t that good imo, it’s spreads thin and doesn’t do much. The Avene one is way better than la Roche. Cerave is great at everything, even their spf goes on nice and keeps everything in. I legit have no idea what Aquaphor is, assuming it’s just straight occlusive.
