What’s the most suspicious event in history that nobody seems suspicious about?

An 80 year old man with papery dead skin once got "shot in the ear" . After wearing a maxi pad on his ear for a few days he came out in public with a miraculously undamaged ear

Oh come on, for someone to do that successfully, they'd have to have some really gullible followers. Plus, why would anyone wanna shoot some old man? I'm sure he's a totally sweet man that loves everyone regardless of race, gender, sexual preference, financial status... Probably gives all his money to charities too, like a sweet old man.
/s if you couldn't tell

That Malaysian plane that disappeared

u/Arstulex 9h ago
Isn't that one basically solved?
If you're referring to MH370 then it didn't 'disappear'. The pilot crashed it in the middle of the ocean on purpose. When authorities searched his PC they found evidence of him having practiced the route he would take on a flight simulator.
As for the plane itself not being found... the ocean is unfathomably big and deep.

u/blythe_spirit888 9h ago
Plenty of pieces have been found, something like 300 bits of plane have washed up in Western Australia, Madagascar, Africa's East coast
1
u/Arstulex 5h ago
If they wait long enough they can rebuild the entire plane piece-by-piece. Kinda like one of those model building magazines you can subscribe to.
2
u/Less_Ganache_9588 7h ago
Oh, was it solved? I'll be honest, I remember it happening in college, freaking out about it for a while, then just.... kinda forgetting about it lol
2
u/Arstulex 5h ago
As solved as anything like that can possibly be, yeah.
Of course, there's room for some doubt. It's not the only route he practiced on his flight sim, so one could still argue it's coincidence.
It's basically a case of "this is most likely what happened", as these sort of things often are.

They still never found the plane and they don't have a good explanation for why the pilot did it

Everything going on in the USA with Jeffrey Epstein. people forgot about it. Charlie Kirk's wife, Erika, was also a part of the Epstein Island sex trafficking ring. Nobody's talking about it anymore, and the connections Epstein had to other powerful figures.

Trump’s election
1
u/OakLegs 9h ago
Which one?
10
u/deadR0 9h ago
2nd. The first was legit
17
u/OakLegs 9h ago
Legit if you don't count the Russian interference
11
u/deadR0 9h ago
I still do not believe it was outright stolen like I do the 2nd.
2
u/Flooping_Pigs 9h ago
Sorry I didn't click "continue this thread" so didn't see that Russia Astro turf was addressed lol but neither election was legit compared to say the 08 election
-1
u/Mottled_Paws 9h ago
Are we allowed to be election deniers now? I was told that was bad after 2020.
2
u/Flooping_Pigs 9h ago
Russian Collusion is legit now?
5
u/sjets3 9h ago
It always was. Do you not remember Jr admitting to meeting with Russians?
3
u/Flooping_Pigs 9h ago
Sometimes, people flippantly admit to wrong doing in an attempt to normalize that wrong doing, as if to say "big deal"

Alexander the Greats father being assassinated and then him working with foreign generals to overthrow their kings. He almost always appointed a local general as ruler after he left and these are probably people he would have met with as a member of his father's household before his death.
I think it was the Zoroastrian astrology record that claims he conspired with their general to betray their king. I personally think he was more a conspirator than he was a great conqueror.

Trump's election to office in 2024. After all, he DOES claim there was massive fraud.

pearl harbor is kinda sus, just saying
2
u/Postulative 9h ago
It has been suggested that the US knew more about the impending attack than was known publicly, but knew it needed something to move public opinion towards joining the war.

u/DontYuckMyYum 7h ago
similar thing happened with getting us in to Nam. so I would not it put it past the govt to allow something like pearl harbor to happen.

JFK assassination.
Edit: ok lots of people are suspicious, but still not enough in my opinion.
18
u/deadR0 9h ago
Really? The single most talked about conspiracy after Roswell? You, sir, do not understand the homework assignment!
3
u/dtootd12 9h ago
No way Roswell is talked about more than JFK, but JFK seems like the most obvious cover up in American history and most people I talk to about it just shrug and/or laugh.
1
u/deadR0 9h ago
Sure, the Roswell thing was a joke. As for JFK, what would people do about it now?
1
u/dtootd12 9h ago
I mean I don't expect anybody to do anything other than be suspicious but they don't even do that.

The immaculate conception.

u/joinedforsecretsanta 9h ago
That is not an event in history. It is like saying: the intervention of Hera in the Troy War.

u/Stogiesaurus 8h ago
So the birth of Christ didn't happen?
1
u/odahviing323 7h ago
That’s not the same thing
1
u/Stogiesaurus 6h ago
How so? That's what I've always heard it called.
3
u/Plastic_Blood1782 6h ago
People are born all the time. Being born without having sex is not as common. That's the difference

The cern super collider I’ll just leave it at that if you know you know

I don't know, say more

Here’s a good google AI description for anyone interested: massive, interconnected web of internet lore surrounding the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and its Large Hadron Collider (LHC)—the world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator located underground on the France-Switzerland border.
Because the LHC deals with the invisible, high-energy building blocks of reality (like the Higgs Boson, or "God Particle"), it has become a magnet for sci-fi-infused urban legends.
1. The Core Theories
The Mandela Effect Machine
Perhaps the most popular theory is that CERN’s high-energy particle collisions are actively tearing the fabric of spacetime, shifting us into parallel universes. Believers blame CERN for the Mandela Effect—a phenomenon where large groups of people misremember historical facts or pop culture details (e.g., remembering the Berenstain Bears as Berenstein, or Fruit of the Loom having a cornucopia logo). The theory goes that every time the LHC fires up, reality "glitches" and merges with an alternate timeline.
Opening Interdimensional Portals (The "Gates of Hell")
Another prevalent theory claims that scientists aren't just looking for dark matter, but are trying to open a literal portal to another dimension. Depending on who you ask, this portal is intended to communicate with advanced extraterrestrials, summon demonic entities, or open a doorway for Lucifer.
The Doomsday Black Hole
When the LHC was first turned on in 2008, a widespread rumor circulated that smashing protons at 99.99% the speed of light would create a microscopic black hole that would swallow the Earth. (In reality, while physicists calculated that microscopic quantum black holes are theoretically possible under highly speculative models, they would instantly decay via Hawking radiation and pose zero threat).
2. The "Evidence" Fueled by the Internet
theorists often point to a few highly specific, real-world details at CERN to justify their claims:
The Shiva Statue
Right outside CERN's building sits a large statue of the Hindu deity Shiva Nataraja, depicted performing the cosmic dance of creation and destruction-2

Just look it up on YouTube TikTok or any AI enjoy you’re rabbit hole my friend😂

u/billthedog0082 9h ago
I didn't know. Thanks for posting this. Why do you think this is a "suspicious event"... please don't leave it for me to figure out.
0
u/Hopeful-Leading-5288 9h ago
Because there’s so many theories surrounding it. It’s a rabbit hole in itself you could go on for hours just researching the company itself and what they invest in where they spend their money etc not to include this crazy particle accelerator that they made and then all of a sudden crazy things happen after they power it up

Covid. A lot of people think that it was produced in a lab, but we never talk about it
12
u/VAGentleman05 9h ago
but we never talk about it
LOL. Everybody who thinks that talked about it nonstop for years.
5
u/chill_lax_bruh 9h ago
I'm tired of the COVID bullshit. Everyone has their theories and not one of them knows anything about science or medicine. It's a bunch of idiots throwing shit and seeing what sticks.
2
u/AidenTai 9h ago
I mean, it's not something you can discredit, it's just that other simpler explanations also work just fine (wet market, etc.) So unless we ever get evidence of a containment failure or similar, it's hard to prove. And if there's no evidence to prove it, we can only have conjecture. Conjecture in the face of a reasonable alternative that's simpler or more probably will not get much support.
