ARTICLE People doing real "PvP" in the PvE Game --- Madness of this Legendary S**t Show

Update 2026 Jan 22nd:

BMPT2025 nerfed, but, as I said down there. More arguments are from the matchmaking system, and the way of disturbing the blue prints, not really the balance of a specific tank.

------------------------------------------------------------

First, I dislike this legendary system. I explained the reasons before. However, I never said that people using these tier 11 are bad, nor encouraged players use any unsportsmanlike behavior. I also did not suggest people stop using OP tanks to fight for crates nor purchase crates or coins. All I said was, the environment would be worse, the Dev was bad, what they wanted, and what might happen next. I rather people prove me wrong than this.

So, what's the story?

------------------------------------------------------------

I won't be hiding the ID this time, since this dude was publicly asking for tips on how to push/block other players.

One of my friends posted this in a chat room, saying he was using BMPT 2025 in a random game. This dude from [LABS], using Type 10, was actively insulting, blocking, and pushing him. He failed to "punish" this BMPT.

OK, at least he was honest about it.
Apparently, he failed in his inappropriate actions. In another word, he was a loser of "being a loser".

This was another player who successfully "punished" the BMPT2025 user, and caused a losing game for everyone (now they only have 3 players, one heavy hitter and heavy shield were gangbanging). I guessed, he should be happy about making everyone actually lose.

Another guy, but he did it!

After this match, he asked others in official Discord channel about what tank was the best to use when he wanted to "punish" more BMPT users.

Fun fact, if you were looking for a vehicle that was fast, heavy, large-sized, and had ability to screw up broken BMPT2025, you were looking for another broken vehicle - VN20.

The victim found that this dude was an active user in the channel, so he posted about this unfriendly encounter in the channel.

Posting whatever he did in the channel directly.

After some arguments, SS found out about this mess. Both users involved in this were banned for some hours, including the victim of this incident.

The victim was banned as well, due to "fairness". And I don't think these suggestions will affect Dev, nor hide the fact that you were pushing/blocking people in-game. The Dev team is arrogant, believing they will listen to suggestions is even more arrogant.
Easiest way to deal with conflicts and inequality, make both sides silent. Oh, aren't you a part of Dev who made all these Legendary BS?

That was basically everything. And up until now, I have not heard from the victim that CraigMitchell made any apology privately or publicly.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, this seemed to be a simple "hate crime", why did it matter? What are behind this?

Players did unsportsmanlike behaviors before in PvE, against players using TOS 1 (unnerfed version), Namer, VN20 etc. The common point was that victims were all using OP tanks. Same reasons, the OP tanks broke the game, ruined the fun etc. However, this was not too common in the past.

The main argument comes from the fact that PvE part of AW is mission-reward driven. It is natural that players want to use the best tool to finish the job with least time and effort possible. OP vehicles are obviously the most efficient tools. Using those tools to fulfill the requirements has nothing wrong. It is the basic logic. You are OK to do whatever you like as long as you don't violate the rules. Pushing and blocking other players, are not OK. If you really really hate to play with the OP tanks, you can throw and leave. The team only loses you, one player, not two. Doing low damage and not respawning are not against the rules. The broken tanks, poor balance, and stupid missions were not made from the players, but the Dev.

This unsportsmanlike things occurred in the past, why this time the situation is more severe and the hate is stronger? In the past, the challenge missions of BP asked you to get 10 Bluestar (can be done in heroic), do xxx damage/kills, or first 3 kills etc. Usually, if one fulfilled the requirements, others all failed. However, you only needed to do these missions once per season. The loses of not doing these challenges were acceptable. You were free to do whatever after the missions are done. The level of hate could be alleviated throughout time. Now, there is crate things everyday, asking people to get 10 Bluestar everyday instead of every season. The crate is the major free source of a new currency. This new currency unlocks new set of super-power tools. The new tools give you even higher efficiency to finish the missions. Then what do we have? The usage of OP tanks significantly increases. Some people paid and rushed the BP ranks for blue prints. They used these legendary tanks that are even more OP, making others feel more uneven. Then we have more hate. The hate against the users of OP tanks. And ofc, players are free to make payment what so ever. This does not against the rules, and keeps the game live longer. This is funny. Who made these OP tanks, and conditions of unlocking? Not the players who got blamed, but the dev.

Why does it matter that I pointed out this dude is from [LABS]? I do not have problems with this clan. Quite the opposite, in my opinion, [LABS] represents the highest level of game-play in both PvE and PvP (as a whole clan, not saying there aren't individuals out perform them). Their members play significantly better than most of players. You can trust them 100% in Spec Ops, and you want to avoid them in a Bluestar fight (and they can handle it without you, no problem). Not only they demonstrate pro skills and deep understandings of the game, but also they are active community contributors! However, what happens now? One of the members violated the game rules, significantly prohibited other people's gameplay, and publicly asked advice on how to better block/push people. To me, it was really surprising. Even worse, some other members of this pro clan showed supportive attitudes towards such behaviors. If a clan accepts these members and their behaviors and attitudes, that means these behaviors aligns with clan's current values and spirits. They claimed to love the game, and usually showed supports to game Dev. Why did some members violate the rules? Some members said Legendary tank users were ruining the fun. Why did these guys keep silence when seeing some other [LABS] members using Legendary tanks in regular PvE games? Was that double standard? So, the question is, what made these great players doing such things? They used to be super good and now they are mad. Oh, ig, the new legendary system and chronic inequality turned good people into devils. Who caused these situation? The Dev.

I understand why there was anger, and now we know the cause. Why didn't they aggressively target the Dev, but aggressively punching the other players? Clearly some gentle suggestions on how to improve could not make the dev care. Advising SS was not effective at all, and won't hide the fact that he was violating the in-game rules. Ig, this is why. Here is a quote from famous Chinese writer, Lu Xun. I translated it. “The brave, when angry, draws swords against the stronger; the coward, when angry, turns their blades on the more vulnerable.” Why not unleashing anger directly towards SS and the Dev team? Fear of getting banned and kicked? Or just enjoying praising SS and hoping he will return some love? Pushing and blocking other players, and calling it "protecting other people's fun", "keeping balance" and "justice"? Or just because it was easier? Lame, maybe these guys have skills, just not guts...

The brave, when angry, draws swords against the stronger; the coward, when angry, turns their blades on the more vulnerable --- Lu Xun aka. Shuren Zhou

As for SS, was it fair to ban both? Say, you are a content creator from War Thunder. AW seemed fun and you wanted to enroll. (OK, I tried to stop this guy at this point, asking him not to play. I failed, and Ig he understands why now). You started to play for some weeks and got some high level tanks. You paid for some weekly prem tanks in your game play. Now there was a new system. You purchased even more and got newest legendary tanks. You played them in both PvP and PvE. Some people broke the rules and treated you unfairly in games just because you were using a new tank. You found out that one of the criminals was actively asking how to "punish" users like you in official channel. You posted your complains against this rule-violating behavior. You got banned too by dev and community manager called SS, maybe because he thought this "broke the peace and harmony". Wow. This is how Dev treats a new player but who had already paid lots of money in short period of time? I wonder what is Dev's real attitude towards other customers, who paid just a little or play without paying. This is how Dev understands the term "fairness"? No wonder the balancing between tanks and the way of disturbing rewards are s**t shows. Ignoring opposing voices or burying existing conflicts won't make the problems go away. But, it will make the players go away. It is always easier to kick users away from channel than to kick away the real problems, conflicts, and bugs.

What can be done to get out of this? Maybe first part a player can do is to follow the rules, and report unsportsmanlike behaviors like blocking and pushing. Save the replay and submit the tickets on portal, with the replay, screenshot, other evidence and a detail description of what happened. If you are angry about the situation, know that other players are never the real targets to blame. What can dev do? Well, they don't listen, so it doesn't matter what players suggest. Maybe asking them to listen is the most important thing. What else I can think of are changing current method of disturbing blue prints, and/or adding more free methods of dropping the crates, and these methods need to be more "noob friendly" and less degree of grinding, if everyone has it, it is more fair; running full and serious tests before releasing anything, so they can avoid many possible BS, nerfing it afterwards is kinda scam, especially for the payers; improve MM of PvP, avoid imbalanced matches like 0 vs 4 legendary tanks; make less difficult and shorter missions, so after people are done with them, they get to chill with non OP vehicles; adding some mechanism to give other players crates if Bluestar owner had already earned 10 crates already etc. There is no way to undo any systematic changes or completely rework the framework of this game. They already messed up. And again, I am not asking people to give up using OP tanks, or stop purchasing. It is rightful for you to do whatever you want as long as it is not against the rules.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Well, yeah, ig, more arguments are from the matchmaking system, and the way of disturbing the blue prints, not the balance of a specific tank.

This may suggest that the future legendary tanks can be more OP!

Here are some ideas:

Unnerfed original version of CATTB with large clip size, overall buffed stats and retain current reload mechanism.

Unnerfed original version of PUMA, with buffed AB rounds, invulnerable side armor, and overall buffed stats.

Unnerfed original version of T15 K, with buffed Recoil Stabilizer system, faster firing rate, and overall buffed stats.

Unnerfed original version of TOS 1M with super 122 mm rockets, faster fire rate, invulnerable turret module, and overall buffed stats.

VN50, basically same as VN20, but, you know, stronger. And make the turret available to shoot ATGM as well.

Leclerc NG, basically Leclerc T4 with all modules selected, buffed everything, and return the unfixed buggy HE rounds.

All using existing models, no need to make new! Easy copy-paste! Easy money and player activity statistics.

ARTICLE The new legendary tank system is a bad move

Update 2026 Feb 27th:

Lots of LBMPT on street. If you really dislike them, don't go and push them like some dudes. Just simply leave, better off for everyone.

Heroic mode no longer drops L Crates. This was done by removing Bluestar for all tie in exp situation. Previously, in normal PvE game, if you were tie with someone in exp earning, both of you could get Bluestar, and one of you got Crate randomly. Now, no crate for both of you. It was a lazy change to reduce rewards for every player.

About new LV design contest, it was simply a way to show "the interactions between community thingy". And in this way, they don't have to think of their own ideas of how to make new LVs to push people to fight each other in PvE. It was questionable how their coding abilities gonna achieve some new mechanism too. Like... changing frontal armor to 9999 was a "new mechanism" for them that required hard work. What do we expect. Oh yeah, btw, do you remember how SS stole the tank design of ZTZ20 from a Chinese artist? He got smart this time. Why don't we just publicly asking for ideas and taking them. Easy and legal.

Update 2026 Jan 22nd:

BMPT2025 nerfed, which... idk. LV should perform like LV. If you work hard on crates, you should get some crazy stuff. How about buffing LV Leo2 and M10?

Update 2025 Dec 23rd:

The expected value of opening the L-crate is above 10 blueprints and below 15 from my personal experience. Still, it needs to be more transparent about the drop rates.

You can earn some Blueprints in BP. You can get some Blueprints from 1-50 main progression (740) or missions (260), which are 10% of a L-tank in total...

10 additional over progression levels are just wild! Pictures are attached in the end. If you ignore the craziness of requirements, you still find it weird. At level 51 you pay 7000 coins to get 1000 Blueprints, lv52 is 24k for 1000 Blueprint, lv53 is 37k for 1000 Blueprints, and at level 60, you pay 200000 to get 5000 Blueprints (40000 to 1000). It is getting more punishing when you are ranking up. Remember in the last BP with over progression, every time you rank up from 51 to 60, you get ascending awards with almost the same requirements. If SS wants to punish players who reach high level and does not want people to actually have blueprints at all, he can just say it out loud, like a man. You can argue that you don't always need to play over progression, sure, ig... The goal is never providing "free items" so everyone can get. The goal is to put the bait, and create anxiety and anger. People will pay to speed up the free progress under the pressure of "others having them but I don't".

Here is the news from AW website https://armoredwarfare.com/en/news/general/legendary-vehicles-are-here

I will be updating this post if anything new about this topic pops up. Mostly bad things.

And as always, I posted negative comments previously in Discord, I got kicked. I posted negative comments on Steam, I was banned from the AW community. I posted negative comments on YouTube, I got shadow banned. Same with FB. Still, people should know what this update is about and where it will lead AW to. Shutting voices, banning people and deleting comments won't make you better but more like a clown, SS.

Very funny that I posted exactly same thing over there

Well, not trying to change the update or their attitudes. You can not ask some one who decided to stick to one's guns to change course. Once you started, you could only walk on this dark path till the end.

Good and surface:

  • It adds end game goals to grind.
  • You don't need to stick to garbage vehicles like obj 292 line unlock conditions.
  • You can buy progress if you really don't want to grind.
  • They are unbelievably over power in some aspects, great if you have them.

Good and hidden:

  • This system unlocks possibilities of new challenging modes and events.

Bad and surface:

  • Not fun to grind at all.
  • Not enough participation awards for non-top players if you see it as a long-term grinding process. 50 BP per week or 5000 gold buy it directly. Wow, 0.5% per week for non-top players with no pay-to-win items. That is very kind.
  • Too much grinding if you see it as elite mission series.
  • Directly reusing existing models with ugly skin and not allowing to customize freely (decal placement is silly btw).
  • Simply changing some "numbers" of existing mechanism to make it OP. What is this 30 mm cannon having 100+ per AP shot? What is this 120 mm AP doing 500% more modular damage? Did you just directly reuse the original un-nerfed XM1302 and renamed it "M10"? What about real M10?
  • The rate of blue print dropping is not transparent. Claiming to be 1-300, but getting 1 BP five times in a roll is common. Is this a fraud or a trap?
  • Limited to 10 crates per days, asking players to be on everyday. And this setting does not allow big grinders to get it faster than others. If people wants to rush for it, they will have to pay, but......
  • They are for sold at a funny price in so called "daily event". Just call it "daily bundle".
  • They are unbelievably over power in some aspects, too bad if you don't have them.
  • The introduction of a new currency would make all your previous grind useless. No matter how much time and effort you had spent in pass few years, you had to "enjoy the process" again.
  • Not rewarding for GO, so, no one plays GO now.
  • Do you know that, you can match up with BMPT-2025 while you are in a tier 8 in PvP. Oh, too bad, only enemy side has a 2 -man BMPT 2025 squad, and you have a team of XC8

Bad and hidden:

  • Promoting cut-throat competitions and toxic game plays. That is the worst in a PvE coop game. You must be the top to have a chance to lottery random number of fragments.
  • Promoting people to purchase super prem vehicles like VN20, or BMPT2017 (or even purchase BMPT2025 directly), you can't expect to win Stars in most of other tanks.
  • Further twisting environment which all people aiming to use super damage vehicles to pad damage and sometimes ignoring the mission objectives.
  • Not encouraging sharing environment in PvE. If people seeing themselves unable to get top in team, they will simply afk/sus and switch to next game. The people who are left in the game are likely to be overwhelmed and lose. No reward for everyone, all people lose.
  • There are LOTS OF different vehicles in this game which all are part of experience of this game. The environment pushed player to pick only OP damage dealers. That completely buries 90% of the beauty of this game. When you are not using OP tanks, like you are on your track leveling up a line, you will earn less and enjoy less because more players around you are fighting for damages.
  • People who unlock these super tanks either by luck or money will have higher chances to grab more top 1s in game, making it easier for them to snowball the next legendary tank. This also will give other players hidden pressure, promoting them to purchase.
  • Dev can make future missions (like Battle Path missions) harder, more competitive, more time consuming and less team-play by saying "just use legendary tanks and stfu."
  • Considering how easily they copied and pasted a "new Legendary Tank", they can create as many as they want in just 3 min in the future to make people grind for 3 months+ each.
  • Missions with unreasonable requirements for exchanging Blueprints would be made in the future. They can humiliate players whatever they want and put small amount of Blueprints.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have played for 10 years from testing; I have paid ten thousands of dollars in this; I have owned ALL the tanks and commanders (not some reskined tanks); I could win Blue Stars easily with OP tanks (or harder if not with OP tanks). This is not about me. Every time I fulfilled a conditions of a challenging mission that only one of the team members can achieve per game, this popped into my mind, "what about the others?" Aren't these who failed to fulfill the conditions the majority of the community? What if they are not happy and quit forever, who am I matching to? If I am getting a PvE match with people that all are super crazy about damage, will I be happy about the game like I was? No. Well, it is still about me after all. I want to be enjoying the game not driving OP tanks and going for damage padding all the time. I don't mind doing heavy lifting and carrying in some spec ops a few times. But, sometimes, sitting in Merk Mk4M and relaxing are great. I am selfish, yes, so please treat the majority of the players well.

PvE should allow all people enjoying the game, it is ok that good players enjoy it more, but please do not create "losers" on purpose.

Updates on what is the game becoming and something else:

A friend sharing screenshot. He was using BMPT2025 and got pushed onto a train by a unhappy player. They have lost to this normal PvE game in the end. I understood why people are unhappy about tier 11, but please direct the angry to Dev, to SS, not the players. Players who used these tanks did not make the rules, the system or the tanks. Dev did. Players against players in PvE is bad.
First, they create imbalanced tool first. Next, they create unfair environment and promote toxic game-play. Then these create anxiety among players. The anxiety eventually pushes players to speed up the progress and pay money for these "free to earn" things.
rank 51, 7000 coins for 1000 Blueprints
Rank 60 200000 coins for 5000 Blue prints (40000 for 1000)
What happened? It is just a different crate. Can't even fit in the screen?
Official gifts for everyone! 2 L-crate in total when you finish weekend SO (which likely you get 1 blueprint each). At the same time, you are not getting crates with coins for next BP, 20 experimental repair kits and 2 rental tanks (250 gold if you own them). It is just too hard for them to give you both types of crates as rewards. And it did not change the stupid drop rate of the L-crate.
Yeah, stupid dev
You see, people started to push others because they failed to get top damage in first 2 min. That was sad. Even sadder, that dude did not get it. The saddest thing was the Dev inducing this toxic environment. Expect to see more!
People who dislike the game environment were accused "bot-enjoyer" by a believer of AW. You know, the Legendary Tank is really encouraging people to bite on each others, lol.
This dude was playing fine, and about to get a star. He did not push/block people or something. He was simply telling the truth to everyone in the end of a match. idk why the original source masked the word "losers". It was not really inappropriate language.
Player with BMPT 2017 quitted directly in the beginning just because his spawn point was behind another BMPT and getting 2.5k damage less in the first encounter. He did not make any mistake, just spawn point RNG.
People, who wanted to just have fun, started to afk and quit. (Smoking is bad for your health!)
"You can get 1-300 blue prints by opening a crate." Can you? I am actually lazy about this. It should really look more like f(x)=1/x^5 something.
From a friend, I guess this is the reason why they don't dare to post the drop rate of crate. I have a suggestion to improve this. Just remove the "Congratulations!" if you are getting few blueprint, so it does not look like you are mocking players.
So, this is an event? Not even Gaijin is like this.
