Lore I didn’t realize how many people don’t know how to get up this….

Post image

TIP: Stand on the far left square closest to you. Look up and jump.

Bro I literally watched a dude try to get up this for 8 minutes and then just surrender.

in addition to OPs: if you aim your crosshair at this line, walk forward and press jump it's literally a 10 out of 10 times success

u/RedEye-55 21h ago

Gonna load in naked and do practice runs 😭😂

187

u/APartyInMyPants 21h ago

Don’t do naked. Do it with a cheap augment and a shield, just so you get used to the (albeit slight) movement penalty.

72

u/OneSpicyPapShmear 21h ago

Damn good advice. I forgot about that.

Light shield with the perk has no penalty if i recall? EDIT: Light shield has no penalty at all.

20

u/Frosttfire 18h ago

A light shield simply has no movement penalty, used to the weight only affects medium+

21

u/vijineri 18h ago

Light shield has no movement penalty no matter what

8

u/APartyInMyPants 20h ago

Is that true? I honestly have ZERO idea.

great comment

2

u/ionshower 18h ago

I mean, and a hatch key if you spawn in assembly and wanna get out, or go spicy and craft one from Assembly, after your jump practice.

23

u/Lilcommy 21h ago

If you struggle put your gun away. I can't do it when holding a gun but can the second Im not

16

u/Hustlehard93 21h ago

I do naked Stella runs to reset my ABMM after a weekend of trio killing. Can confirm that’s how I got my reps in practicing this. I make my way from through there to the breaches underground often.

8

u/Buddy_Kane_the_great 20h ago

Same here. Naked Stella is like a detox for me lol

3

u/Old-Link2399 20h ago

How many raids does it take until you start to see a difference in your lobbies?

11

u/Hustlehard93 19h ago

Depends what I’m going for and how many I knocked during my KOS runs.
But around 8-15 raids depending on how long I’m topside and what activities I do. Surrendering doesn’t work any more but I never really used that method. Just go in naked and run it like a normal match but don’t shoot. First couple games you’ll get shot quick. After about 4ish you’ll see a difference, once you start seeing SOME cooperation between raiders hang around with them and bandage them once in a while or defib if you find one. That seems to make it go quicker IN MY EXPERIENCE. After you start doing more cooperative activities you’ll start seeing more friendly raiders in each run. I’ll do this until I start seeing people completely ignore the threats of other raiders and working together (IE: 4-8 people extracting together, hullcrackers being fired in the distance, and people offering you loot they don’t need) I maybe run another match or two to cement my aggression range then start bringing my kits back in while being slightly cautious. The longer the raids the more impact they have.

I do naked over free kit because I have a safe pocket incase I find something juicy I want to keep. I also hit security breaches when I’m naked to build my gun collection while resetting and dip if I get a purple gun though 🤣

7

u/Buddy_Kane_the_great 19h ago

I feel like the sub doesn’t talk at all about how cooperative actions are probably factored in as well. I can’t imagine that defibbing a stranger doesn’t count towards “good” behavior.

6

u/Hustlehard93 18h ago

That’s probably why there’s so much difference in gameplay too. People complain about being friendly but stick in PVP lobbies, but if you look at the verbiage Embark uses they don’t say Friendly and Unfriendly. They use the terms Cooperative and Competitive. The people having a hard time getting to the very friendly lobbies probably loot and scoot with little to no raider interactions.
It’s my opinion, but my experience is that if I assist kill an arc, defib another raider, extract with others, and most importantly heal other raiders I tend to get much friendlier lobbies quicker. I’ve even hidden under the train at lobby metro multiple times and went to go eat or do some dishes testing if raiders simply extracting near me helped. Haven’t been able to track that data personally but am starting to test that theory out. Kinda nerdy but playing with my ABMM and testing out different things is fun IMO but I’m a data guy tbh

4

u/Buddy_Kane_the_great 16h ago

I wonder too if there are other indicators that are tracked cooperatively. Amount of people in extracts/hatches at the same time, defib/heals, sharing items, etc. The community focus is probably on the competitive side of things since those are more negative experiences and tend to stick with people. I play very friendly but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do and I have yet to be severely “punished”

5

u/Hustlehard93 16h ago

Same here, I’ll be honest, it’s far and few between but very rarely I’ll blast someone for a random reason and have no consequences. That’s why when people complain about 1 kill and being pushed into KOS lobby’s I question what their play style is like.

Like a week ago I was in plaza Rosa and a dude rushed past me and I said let’s split the loot. He naturally looted everything as I was up at the breach. So naturally I blasted him. Then proceeded to act like I knew nothing, helped out other raiders like usual and didn’t even notice a difference in my next couple matches.

1

u/Sweeptheory 13h ago

I like to bring vita spray and defibs. I try to spray the dude who is trying to kill me for extra helping points.

1

u/ThatOneGuy11490 8h ago

I also only bring a hullcracker, seekers, and wolfpacks. I literally couldnt harm another raider if I wanted to.

u/Sweeptheory 4m ago

You can hurt players with all of those. Throw a seeker when a tick jumps on someone for a spicy new type of lobby experience

2

u/Buddy_Kane_the_great 19h ago

I genuinely don’t do it to manipulate the matchmaking so I don’t know. I simply know I always need exodus modules and it’s the best place to get them

1

u/RedEye-55 19h ago

Until you hear hullcrackers and energy weapons. Peeps don’t typically bring those out in PvP 😂

2

u/Hustlehard93 18h ago

Middle ground lobbies you’ll find them, I’ve learned not to use that solely as the gauge but it is a solid indicator you’re heading in the right direction for sure. Never hear hull crackers in my PvP lobbies lmao

1

u/Fit-Percentage-9166 12h ago

I disagree. Obviously there are exceptions, but hearing an energy weapon is like a surefire sign you are in a carebear lobby.

1

u/DynamicBSdetective 20h ago

I do this a lot after I lose a fight. I usually earn enough after a couple to low kit my way through until I start hitting security breaches or getting decent gun cases.

1

u/blackhole_knight 14h ago

I would just do a free load out

16

u/randymercury 21h ago

I find I can only not get up with a heavy shield. I’ll give this a try though. I rock a heavy shield most of the time

12

u/ChrisHange 21h ago

You can unequip the shield and re equip it after the jump. A lot of work but it is a great short cut.

4

u/RyanBordello 20h ago

Jfc that's so simple and I never thought of doing that.

6

u/2AisBestA 19h ago

You'll have to wait for it to charge back up but it's a strat

2

u/HexTheHardcoreCasual 18h ago

You can walk at the slowest speed and make the jump with a heavy shield.

So raised square on top left ground, aim top right line. Will try while under fire.

3

u/TANKxSPEED 20h ago

It’s tough on controller but you can’t be moving much and gotta be looking super right

4

u/JazeyOne 21h ago

Ohhhhhh, I saw tfue do this I think and I was so confused because I thought there was genuinely only 1 way to do it lmfao

2

u/420longdongsilver69 21h ago

there are other ways to jump up there, but i find this the easiest of them

1

u/UrFriendTilUrEnd 19h ago

I go to the back left tile (on the raised corner), look at the top right corner of the door and jump. It's the only method that worked immediately every time for me

2

u/soldins 21h ago

I learned this method from a video posted in this sub some weeks ago, and have used this exact explanation. Although for me it's important to stand on the closet corner (to the user) of the fallen piece of metal that's underneath it, too.

2

u/PixelationIX 19h ago

Thank you

2

u/VCTRYDTX 19h ago

I'm on Console and the only method that worked for me was Aiming Directly Up at the Ceiling. Not sure why it works. I can do the exact jump from the same spot and it wouldn't work. And then I look up as much as possible and it's like my character finally realizes I'm trying to go above.

2

u/StumbleFish25 10h ago

I have never been able to get this jump right, so if this works, I’ll pay your taxes. In the game of course

1

u/JayScramble 16h ago

Um this is the far right not the “far left square”

1

u/CurrencyGlass3995 4h ago

This is the kind of “obvious after someone shows you” tech that makes you question every 8-minute struggle you’ve ever had in a game.

2

u/SixthSacrifice 10h ago

I have an average time-per-run in stella of about 7 minutes.

And about 1100 runs in Stella.

You can learn it. It only takes 7700 minutes, and you'll still get surprised, but you can learn it.

Edit: I have spent over 120 hours in Stella ALONE, that's more time than I play 99.9% of video games

It still works, I do it in most of the Stella matches I play, last night did it dozens of times probably lol

5

u/Affectionate-Try-390 21h ago

They for sure changed it bro, much different during release-March /april

28

u/Potential-Sand-1554 21h ago

it’s a short cut to the metro so you don’t have to go through the robótic sand box

9

u/bot9987 20h ago

Ooo, I hate that place

5

u/Brobin360 21h ago

Naw what you gotta do is come in at a 45° angle from the left and try and jump as soon as you hit the raised corner on the back left square. I pretty much always have to look kinda down at it too. Sometimes this jump is fuckin finicky though

2

u/Vafler69 20h ago

Damn yes! The thing is in that corner: just stand on it and jump+grab I’m dead of all those theories in comments😭

1

u/Brobin360 7h ago

Lol I seem to have it down but there are still times occasionally where it just doesn't wanna work for ya right away

4

u/Huh_noWayKid 19h ago

I had a random guy teach me how to make the jump and stand there cheering me on until I got it. People that play this game are great

9

u/AntiSaint_Mike 21h ago

I used to run and jump and get it everytime. Now I can only do it the walk and look up way

4

u/PowerDreamer2493 21h ago

It’s like riding a bike. Either you know how or you don’t. And if you know how, it’s super easy.

5

u/NSNIA 21h ago

Biggest tip of all: don't sprint

4

u/Nitaboo0531 21h ago

I watched hubby and his three men team state “we got to jump on each other back “…… 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀

2

u/UNFAM1L1AR 21h ago

As with any jump like this notice it's sloped, if you come from the highest side, the left, and basically run at a downhill angle (so you're almost perpendicular to going straight at it) you'll obviously have your best chances of going up. A few jumps work like this in the game, so its good to know.

1

u/Potential-Sand-1554 21h ago

i had better luck when someone told me to walk not run

1

u/SixthSacrifice 17h ago

After watching someone do it from a standstill, my mind was opened.

2

u/Hamilton-Beckett 21h ago

There’s a move I do at testing annex where I jump out of the building and grab the dish scaffold thing on top of the evac on my way down before hopping to the ground with no damage that no one I play with is even willing to try!

2

u/Forsaken-Image-5012 19h ago

Try this during hurricane when the wind is blowing in the wrong direction. Lol I've done that jump many times but the one time I was in hurricane didn't think about the wind and it blew me back lol

2

u/Dothe_impossible5227 21h ago

I’ve tried so many times and have been left behind by so many buddy’s, one guy would let me jump on him and then he would jump and boost me up there. I’m determined to get it now with this data.

2

u/osseggi 21h ago

I slow walk and jump perpendicular (off the top square on the ground), turn midair and attempt to grab, this works on every single jump in the game like this, 100% of the time. Something about turning in the air seems to make the game give you a bit of leeway on the height and timing for the jump.

2

u/Atrocity_Gemini 21h ago

I usually just vault off the yellow unit a few feet to the left. Feels like a much cooler way to do it

1

u/Zouse918 18h ago

I had to do this as a last resort after getting ditched so many times. It does feel great when you pull it off.

2

u/MrAwesomepants 20h ago

i can’t do it to save my life. and when i okay with my friends they all make fun of me :(

2

u/ParticularBanana8369 20h ago

Just gotta believe.

It looks impossible until you hit the angle right and magically float up to the edge and grab it.

2

u/mattrob77 19h ago

Approaching 300h and I can't do it

2

u/Av0ll 19h ago

My buddy knows how to get up it, and still struggles every time.

2

u/Xyon888 19h ago

Oh yeah once I hit a point of competency in the game I realized the answer is to simply put a Snap Hook in your safe pocket and pull it out for this situation and anything else that needs it. Pull it out, snap hook where you wanna go, back into safe pocket. Problem solved. Never made the jump and don’t care. Also used to use Survivor’s utility spot for Zips and set one up before realizing I don’t need to be scared to bring a Snap Hook as default equipment. Never once made the jump, and don’t care. Snap up.

1

u/GigglesMJ 17h ago

Snap hook superiority 🙌

2

u/Prestigious_Abies 19h ago

My first time I was going with a big group (5-6 raiders). They showed me but it still took me a minute... in that time they were all slaughtered at extract, I managed to make it out 😳

3

u/Potential-Sand-1554 21h ago

i went in just to practice this jump. people saw this and stopped to give me pointers. even after getting the first time go back down and do it again until you can do it multiple times in a row

1

u/addandsubtract 16h ago

Is OP's description accurate? You stand on the front left panel, look up, and jump? Not walk / run, and not tap jump again to grab the ledge?

1

u/Potential-Sand-1554 10h ago

walk up to it and as soon as you reach the panels on the floor spam the jump button real fast, as soon as you see your character vaulting hold the jump button. another tip was to look at it from an angle, from the side, but this tip might just complícate things.

1

u/addandsubtract 4h ago

Alright, I'll give it another go. Thanks!

1

u/Delightsomeandwhite 12h ago

yeah my friend kept retrying that juump too once he messed up

1

Also, if you're with a friend who can't make the jump, crouch right under the opening. They can use you to get up there.

1

u/Miserable-Phase-3331 20h ago

The tip is to walk to it not run towards it - plus / jump a lot sooner than you think you need to

1

u/U-Should-Get-A-Job 8h ago

idk what you're on about i sprint everytime. It doesn't matter if you walk or run. People swearing that you NEED to not run are having placebo.

1

u/CushKoma 20h ago

Literally just walk, don't run to it. Works every time

1

u/Slipnaet 20h ago

So it wasn't me then. Cause I didn't know either. Had to watch a video on yt to learn. Turns out I had the correct positioning but I wasn't mashing space after my jump so I was failing.

1

u/kawarazu 20h ago

Someone taught me, I tried for 5 minutes and felt like I was wasting time in a run so I didn't bother learning

1

u/NUTTA_BUSTAH 20h ago

I always instruct my friends to jump when they hit that first square and see their character on top of it. Seems to work.

1

u/link1189 20h ago

I don’t know if it’s imperative but having your gun out always helped me. Walk, look up with fun out and jump when you hit the corner.

1

u/Yets_ 20h ago

This jump is very unintuitive. If you run and jump you'll likely miss it. You have NOT RUN for your character to magnet catch the edge.

1

u/U-Should-Get-A-Job 8h ago

Magnets just fine without walking. It doesn't matter if you walk or not.

1

u/CReece2738 19h ago

People dont know every little detail about games... NO WAY!!!

1

u/Triple516 19h ago

Hahaha that might’ve been me, but I don’t think I tried for 8 minutes before I quit. I fuckin hate Stella montis, I’m sure there are still spots I’ve never seen and forget about finding a key room.

1

1

u/BoggTheFrog 19h ago

I seen people jumping there before, but I can’t for the life of me, where does it take you??

1

u/f3ropeadope 19h ago

I.know it, I just only hit it successfully like 7% of the time 🤣

1

u/yangtze2020 19h ago

1

u/OiTheguvna 18h ago

Normally I can get it in 1-2 tries, but last night it took me legit 20+

1

u/teddyslayerza 18h ago

In fairness to most people, the "look up" part was not necessary until one of the patches a month or two ago. There are many guides and explainers videos that simply show that you need to run in and jump from that corner while looking at the opening. That's how I learned to do it and it no longer works without literally looking almost straight up.

u/xxoberry 18h ago

1

u/juzt1n10 16h ago

imo it’s a shitty game mechanic. Relying on the game engine to register a grab animation. Just put a box there and allow people to get up or make it too high to get up. Not this crappy jump glitch thing.

1

u/grahamcraaacker 15h ago

My 5 yo nephew can do this with ease, meanwhile I still need him to boost me up.

Just yesterday, my team and I heard a guy trying to get up this and we waited to ambush him as soon as he got up. We sat there for about a good minute and just decided to talk him through how to get up and he was actually still going for it. Once he finally got up, my buddy started lighting him up but he scurried away before we could finish him.. seconds later he goes “nice trick, why don’t you come down here so I can show you how I get up there”

I only run solo and always teach people the trick to get up here if they don't know. I've made so many friends cos of this jump. 😃

I didn’t even notice this location before, so thanks!

If you want a noiseless clamber. Aim at the right corner adjacent from the top rivet in the panel.

Putting you guys on some tech here

And as you walk up hold jump. Your raider will feel like a magnet being drawn up to the ledge .

No noisy jumping required

Stand on the far left square look here. There’s a shredder coming. Oh no I hear a rat. Jump! Fuck i missed. Run!! That’s how this area goes for me.

I didn’t realize how many people realize, they stopped playing and also hate Stella.

Some days I do and some days I don’t.

Someone showed me last time I was there. Its easy when you know where to look and jump.

1

u/lynxafricapack 12h ago

You're all complicating it too much, you just need to look up when you jump, thats it. Just look up!

1

u/KrazieKoala 11h ago

Oh he really means it. Four dots bro. You are crazy

1

u/Atago1337 11h ago

The look up and spamming space bar makes you do the jump 100% of the time

You sow me mybe because I tried for few minutes then I surrender 🥲

1

u/Jace_Static 11h ago

You can do this from a stand still 100% of the time a much easier way

Bane of my life that jump

This jump is so weird. It’s seemingly meant to be a skill expression, but it’s also super finicky. I use it a lot and sometimes it’s just stubborn.

I once went to Stella for fun and ended up with a guy who was teaching me how to get there and I couldn’t get it for a long time, but he was patient and now I can do it easily:)

Thank you bro 👊🏻

I've noticed seeing the animations of other people jumping, they don't actually grab onto the top of the ledge. They grab just below it. Thank you for this tip though cuz I can't get up there still

The one single time I've gotten up there I got shot down by someone camping up there.

Key thing is to WALK not RUN.

u/hillcityanimal 3h ago

u/ddphoto90 38m ago

I have to practice now, thanks 😂😂

Thanks, saving this for later. My girlfriend would do as she calls a noble sacrifice and crouch so I could jump on top of her character then on to the ledge. She would then run off and take the long way to meet up with me.

I just use my snap hook

2

u/Potential-Sand-1554 21h ago

i was doing this for a while but after the update i can’t afford to bring in a snap hook to stella so i forced myself to learn it. Watch videos and ask people for pointers
