Lore I didn’t realize how many people don’t know how to get up this….
TIP: Stand on the far left square closest to you. Look up and jump.
Bro I literally watched a dude try to get up this for 8 minutes and then just surrender.

Stella months, assembly to robotic sandbox transition with a busted open wall that leads to lobby metro(down) or security lobby(up) when you get through it.

u/HomoProfessionalis 10h ago
You say this like Stella montis has a layout and isnt a shifting hellscape that constantly leads you back to the med area.
2
u/SixthSacrifice 10h ago
I have an average time-per-run in stella of about 7 minutes.
And about 1100 runs in Stella.
You can learn it. It only takes 7700 minutes, and you'll still get surprised, but you can learn it.
Edit: I have spent over 120 hours in Stella ALONE, that's more time than I play 99.9% of video games

Except the floor is higher on the left side. So this is just like a basic concept of living in a 3D universe.

This dudes going to pretend like it didn’t take him a few times to learn it and act like everyone should just know it. Gtfo outta here.

You know what I do when I find someone that can't get up here? I help them and then move on with my life. I don't take a screenshot and post about it on reddit as if I'm smarter than everyone.

u/Santasam3 6h ago
While OP may be dicky about this, I still only learned this trick because of the post. And I bet there's plenty more people, so don't undervalue the effect.

100%.
Also, what is he getting messages and seeing posts about not being able to jump up this?
Not to mention Stella has been out a while, like 6 months later bro is making a post about it.
He literally just finally figured it out and it’s like, how do you not know how to do this!!!?

Used to hit it 10/10 never missed then after last patch 0/10 I didn’t know if it was a fixed or something to do with expedition reset stats. Will try again now.

It still works, I do it in most of the Stella matches I play, last night did it dozens of times probably lol

Naw what you gotta do is come in at a 45° angle from the left and try and jump as soon as you hit the raised corner on the back left square. I pretty much always have to look kinda down at it too. Sometimes this jump is fuckin finicky though
2
u/Vafler69 20h ago
Damn yes! The thing is in that corner: just stand on it and jump+grab I’m dead of all those theories in comments😭
1
u/Brobin360 7h ago
Lol I seem to have it down but there are still times occasionally where it just doesn't wanna work for ya right away
4
u/Huh_noWayKid 19h ago
I had a random guy teach me how to make the jump and stand there cheering me on until I got it. People that play this game are great
9
u/AntiSaint_Mike 21h ago
I used to run and jump and get it everytime. Now I can only do it the walk and look up way
4
u/PowerDreamer2493 21h ago
It’s like riding a bike. Either you know how or you don’t. And if you know how, it’s super easy.
4
u/Nitaboo0531 21h ago
I watched hubby and his three men team state “we got to jump on each other back “…… 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀
2
u/UNFAM1L1AR 21h ago
As with any jump like this notice it's sloped, if you come from the highest side, the left, and basically run at a downhill angle (so you're almost perpendicular to going straight at it) you'll obviously have your best chances of going up. A few jumps work like this in the game, so its good to know.

2
u/Hamilton-Beckett 21h ago
There’s a move I do at testing annex where I jump out of the building and grab the dish scaffold thing on top of the evac on my way down before hopping to the ground with no damage that no one I play with is even willing to try!
2
u/Forsaken-Image-5012 19h ago
Try this during hurricane when the wind is blowing in the wrong direction. Lol I've done that jump many times but the one time I was in hurricane didn't think about the wind and it blew me back lol
2
u/Dothe_impossible5227 21h ago
I’ve tried so many times and have been left behind by so many buddy’s, one guy would let me jump on him and then he would jump and boost me up there. I’m determined to get it now with this data.
2
u/osseggi 21h ago
I slow walk and jump perpendicular (off the top square on the ground), turn midair and attempt to grab, this works on every single jump in the game like this, 100% of the time. Something about turning in the air seems to make the game give you a bit of leeway on the height and timing for the jump.
2
u/Atrocity_Gemini 21h ago
I usually just vault off the yellow unit a few feet to the left. Feels like a much cooler way to do it
1
u/Zouse918 18h ago
I had to do this as a last resort after getting ditched so many times. It does feel great when you pull it off.
2
u/MrAwesomepants 20h ago
i can’t do it to save my life. and when i okay with my friends they all make fun of me :(
bastards
2
u/ParticularBanana8369 20h ago
Just gotta believe.
It looks impossible until you hit the angle right and magically float up to the edge and grab it.
2
2
u/Xyon888 19h ago
Oh yeah once I hit a point of competency in the game I realized the answer is to simply put a Snap Hook in your safe pocket and pull it out for this situation and anything else that needs it. Pull it out, snap hook where you wanna go, back into safe pocket. Problem solved. Never made the jump and don’t care. Also used to use Survivor’s utility spot for Zips and set one up before realizing I don’t need to be scared to bring a Snap Hook as default equipment. Never once made the jump, and don’t care. Snap up.

u/Potential-Sand-1554 21h ago
i went in just to practice this jump. people saw this and stopped to give me pointers. even after getting the first time go back down and do it again until you can do it multiple times in a row
1
u/addandsubtract 16h ago
Is OP's description accurate? You stand on the front left panel, look up, and jump? Not walk / run, and not tap jump again to grab the ledge?
1
u/Potential-Sand-1554 10h ago
walk up to it and as soon as you reach the panels on the floor spam the jump button real fast, as soon as you see your character vaulting hold the jump button. another tip was to look at it from an angle, from the side, but this tip might just complícate things.

Also, if you're with a friend who can't make the jump, crouch right under the opening. They can use you to get up there.

The tip is to walk to it not run towards it - plus / jump a lot sooner than you think you need to
1
u/U-Should-Get-A-Job 8h ago
idk what you're on about i sprint everytime. It doesn't matter if you walk or run. People swearing that you NEED to not run are having placebo.

u/Slipnaet 20h ago
So it wasn't me then. Cause I didn't know either. Had to watch a video on yt to learn. Turns out I had the correct positioning but I wasn't mashing space after my jump so I was failing.
1
u/kawarazu 20h ago
Someone taught me, I tried for 5 minutes and felt like I was wasting time in a run so I didn't bother learning
1
u/NUTTA_BUSTAH 20h ago
I always instruct my friends to jump when they hit that first square and see their character on top of it. Seems to work.
1
u/link1189 20h ago
I don’t know if it’s imperative but having your gun out always helped me. Walk, look up with fun out and jump when you hit the corner.
1
1
u/Yets_ 20h ago
This jump is very unintuitive. If you run and jump you'll likely miss it. You have NOT RUN for your character to magnet catch the edge.
1
u/U-Should-Get-A-Job 8h ago
Magnets just fine without walking. It doesn't matter if you walk or not.

1
u/Triple516 19h ago
Hahaha that might’ve been me, but I don’t think I tried for 8 minutes before I quit. I fuckin hate Stella montis, I’m sure there are still spots I’ve never seen and forget about finding a key room.

In fairness to most people, the "look up" part was not necessary until one of the patches a month or two ago. There are many guides and explainers videos that simply show that you need to run in and jump from that corner while looking at the opening. That's how I learned to do it and it no longer works without literally looking almost straight up.

u/BigHobbit 18h ago
I'm always packing a snaphook in my quick menu, never really thought about how to without it lol!

When I first started the game my duo partner had to show me how to do it. Now, he suddenly forgot how to do it and gets mad that he taught me to do it so fluently. 🤣

Wait til people realize that there’s a difference between normal walking and actual slow walking. You gotta do this with the slow walk

Its me..... I still struggle with this jump alot especially when the shredder is on my ass lol

Worked twice for me, once running and once walking and never thereafter. Will give this technique a try!
1
u/julianknee 16h ago
If you elevate yourself on the corner of the panel on the ground it’s also a 10 out of 10 success rate for me
1
u/ResponsibilityDry854 16h ago
Dude, I know it's on an angle but fail every time. Going to trying the crosshair advice, thanks!
1
u/erskin_23 16h ago
I for one, appreciate yall for the tips. I get stuck here for 5 minutes and almost die of anxiety. Once I make it I’m downed before getting on the train or the shredder gets busy 😂
1
u/juzt1n10 16h ago
imo it’s a shitty game mechanic. Relying on the game engine to register a grab animation. Just put a box there and allow people to get up or make it too high to get up. Not this crappy jump glitch thing.

1
u/grahamcraaacker 15h ago
My 5 yo nephew can do this with ease, meanwhile I still need him to boost me up.
1
u/Shikamaru_irl 15h ago
Just yesterday, my team and I heard a guy trying to get up this and we waited to ambush him as soon as he got up. We sat there for about a good minute and just decided to talk him through how to get up and he was actually still going for it. Once he finally got up, my buddy started lighting him up but he scurried away before we could finish him.. seconds later he goes “nice trick, why don’t you come down here so I can show you how I get up there”
1
u/TuxedoCatsParty_Hard 14h ago
I only run solo and always teach people the trick to get up here if they don't know. I've made so many friends cos of this jump. 😃
1
u/ImSoShook 14h ago
If you want a noiseless clamber. Aim at the right corner adjacent from the top rivet in the panel.
Putting you guys on some tech here
And as you walk up hold jump. Your raider will feel like a magnet being drawn up to the ledge .
No noisy jumping required
1
u/Proof_Store7199 13h ago
Stand on the far left square look here. There’s a shredder coming. Oh no I hear a rat. Jump! Fuck i missed. Run!! That’s how this area goes for me.

You're all complicating it too much, you just need to look up when you jump, thats it. Just look up!

This jump is so weird. It’s seemingly meant to be a skill expression, but it’s also super finicky. I use it a lot and sometimes it’s just stubborn.

u/evilravdi 7h ago
I once went to Stella for fun and ended up with a guy who was teaching me how to get there and I couldn’t get it for a long time, but he was patient and now I can do it easily:)
Thank you bro 👊🏻

u/ShayDeAurora 6h ago
I've noticed seeing the animations of other people jumping, they don't actually grab onto the top of the ledge. They grab just below it. Thank you for this tip though cuz I can't get up there still

The one single time I've gotten up there I got shot down by someone camping up there.

Thanks, saving this for later. My girlfriend would do as she calls a noble sacrifice and crouch so I could jump on top of her character then on to the ledge. She would then run off and take the long way to meet up with me.

in addition to OPs: if you aim your crosshair at this line, walk forward and press jump it's literally a 10 out of 10 times success
