•
u/IntroSkeptic Mar 27 '20
I got into Dartmouth, Harvard, and Yale today, and I finally asked the awesome guy I’ve been seeing for a month to officially be my boyfriend, and he said yes!! I’m sitting in bed about to go to sleep right now, but at am going to remember every fucking detail of this day.

•
u/bigred816 Mar 26 '20
Welp I’m officially rejected from Cornell, the only ivy I applied to. Guess that means Stanford is a no for me as well
•
u/practicalformality Mar 27 '20

Well I only applied to Harvard and got in lol. Had to wake up early to check results. My stats are terrible so if you worked hard and didn't get it, it's just shitty luck, not a reflection on your character or anything.
•
u/moonmanonearth Mar 27 '20
Wow, if u don’t mind asking, what did u do? (Extras)
•
u/15thissucks Mar 27 '20
I'm in the army so I think that was my main extracurricular. But my highschool grades were garbage and I got a 1350 on my sat last year, and I'm not special forces or have a medal of Honor or anything impressive like that.
I also didn't get into gwu or american so it feels a little... Weird I guess.

Fun fact about Cornell/SUNY Ithaca - it does have a few state schools included such as ILR and Human Ecology, so the title SUNY Ithaca might be warranted!
Good luck all, I hope you all get into where you want. I didn’t get into exactly where I wanted last year, but I’m still happy where I ended up. Keep an open mind and don’t stress too much - if things don’t go to plan, don’t let it ruin your thicc coronacation.

Rejected from all 8 Ivies. 1520 SAT 4.4 GPA graduating early. Top 2% of my class.
Here's a lesson, kids: if you're not hooked (or have perfect scores and ECs) don't waste your time and money.
I had good scores, a good GPA, pretty good essays. Bad ECs though.
•
→ More replies (2)•
u/ml32304 Mar 27 '20
Literally the same here... I got good academics but average ECs, ended up getting rejected by four schools today. Jeez, I wish my counselor told me the importance of perfect ECs before I applied.
•
u/dontreallyknow4 Mar 27 '20 edited May 04 '20
Accepted: Columbia (with full aid!!), UCLA, UCSC, USCB, RISD, Pratt, Fordham.
Rejected: UC Berkeley
Waitlisted: NYU
4.15 GPA,1350 SAT, First gen, Latina, from California. Only one major leadership role (Art Club President) but most EC's were outside of school.
Good luck to everyone!! And if I've learned anything is that you should definitely invest time in your essays. Good writing CAN help make up for average/low stats.

Got rejected by Berkeley, Davis, UChicago, Yale, USC, and Connecticut College
As a 3.83 unweighted gpa student with thousands of community service hours, I'm disappointed. Only option left is community college because there is no way I'm going to go to a CSU and pile up debt.

Hi! Fellow Columbia reject here. I also got rejected from most top schools I applied to and will likely be attending UMich Ross in the fall. Here’s how I see it: those four colleges fucked up not taking you and it’s up to you to spend every day showing them. If it’s going to kick you into a new gear you didn’t know you had use it. Just remember how much they love using their alumni as bait and how good it will feel to become as successful as you surely will he knowing that none of them can claim it was due to them. Prove just how wrong they all were :)

Add this: You are going to love Michigan. Public Ivy, brilliant professors, diverse and friendly students, amazing D1 sports culture, top research university, every kind of club and student organization known to humankind, and beloved by grad schools and employers. I attended two state schools (the second a T10 law school) and met my double-Ivy husband at the same prestigious law firm. Many paths to the same destination, and we both agree I had way more fun getting there. Good luck!

Edit: howdy folks, I apologize for posting a message where I failed to correctly convey they friendly and jesting sarcasm I intended. I meant to only put out good vibes, especially on a day that need good vibes like today. I thought humor would be a good route, but I failed at it. Good luck to everyone today and know that someone as special as you guys can make any place into the place you were meant to be at!

•

No sir. In order to further crush your dreams, after getting only rejections/waitlists Ivy Day, you'll get your hopes up for Stanford (which releases the day after Ivy Day) only to have them reject you.

i am a junior from south texas. had a dream the other night that, as a junior, i applied to michigan? It was supposedly decision day, and the decision was out/coming out soon, but I didn't know my username and password. I cared but I didn't know it and my parents were asleep and I was too scared to wake them up to help me out. Literally didn't make any sense and then I woke up. No sense at all.
