Short drive to wildflower viewing from agua caliente

We're traveling with 6 year olds. Going to be staying at agua caliente. We are already doing lots of driving on the trip so we don't want hours more in the 4x4 truck but would love to have a picnic and see some great flowers. Sandy roads are fun for all. Short hikes are good Suggestions?

Try June Wash. Nearby, and usually good.

Coyote canyon north of Borrego Springs is where I’d start to look.

Not to see flowers last week. This week after the rain, absolutely.
