Where do I find coloured safty eyes?

Hello everyone!
I recently bought this super cute pattern of one of my favourite gaming characters and I’m highly motivated to start.

But I have no idea where to find these eyes they used in the pictures.
I do have safety eyes in different sizes but they are all black or have pupils. Which sometimes doesn’t fit for characters in anime style.

Does these colourful glas-like eyes have a specific name?
I couldn’t find them. Or is there a way to make them yourself?

I hope you guys can help me! I appreciate any advice ♥️

The second ones seem to be cabochons with printed paper glued to the back. (Because it almost looks like you can see the low dpi of the printer.) Then you can just glue them in place. Unfortunately almost impossible to find specific printed safety eyes like that second image.

Could do clear ones and paint the backs yourself. I've seen some tutorials about using nail polish to do it

Yeah but none did fit. And they cost me a half of my liver to ship them to Europe 😂

It's a radish! 😅 (IYKYK.) I've made many Genshin and Wuwa amigurumi. If you'd like to make them yourself (if you plan on making a lot, like I do), they're pretty easy to make yourself - if you want to add another craft. I actually bought eye molds and pour the resin myself, mixing the powders to get just the right color for the characters.

Yes that would be cool. Not just for genshin but for all Amigurumi. For me the eyes make a huge difference in look and I would love to make them!
Can you tell me a bit more about what you use and so on?:3

I make them myself! The creator of that pattern has tutorials on how to make them on their instagram

Would be very cool to make my own custom eyes:3

Grab some normal black safety eyes, sand them ( DONT skip this step, is very important u sand them well so the paint stick and dont fall), paint them with 3 or 4 layers of white paint before u use the actual color (use thin layers, thats why u would need maybe over 2 layers), and use some glossy varnish or even u can use clear nail polish and there u have ur colored safety eyes!!

do you know what grit is recommended for sanding? When I tried to sand some cheap ones they just got super scratched

Meikyniel Handmade makes her own eyes with UV resin, she has a tutorial on her Instagram for it (if you dont want to use resin I'd recommend microcrocheting or needle felting them)

Oh hey!! I buy her patterns too. I've made her Yoimia, Raiden, ayaka, and kokomi. But these are the resin eyes/cabochons that I use:

- Before buying, look at the pictures in the reviews. You wanna be sure you buy the ones that don't have plastic or paper on the bottom of cabochons. I think these glue on kinda weird, and don't look as nice. But etsy has a lot of diff sellers with lots of colors!

Be careful not to buy these:

  • cuz if you look at the review photos they have paper/plastic at the very bottom of it. (I made this mistake and personally they look kinda cheap so I didn't use them). The model pictures can be quite deceptive!

PS: This is one of my own dolls I made after adapting Meikyniel's pattern!
