/uj Imagine advertising your game to feature the first main playable female protagonist in a standard danganronpa game, and then kill her in the first case to replace her with a boy.
Mia Fey received more cases than that dudette. Athena Cykes in SOJ received more screen time and a more active role in the story, and at least neither of those 2 games tried to sell the idea that either of those 2 characters were going to be a main protagonist.

Imagine how sick it would’ve been if it was basically the same, but gender swapped. You play the first chapter as a boy with a pretty likeable personality, but nothing special for the Danganronpa franchise. Then after the first chapter, the protagonist dies (cause they killed someone) and then the female Ultimate Detective takes over. Their personalities are basically the same, so you still get the good Shuichi-like character development and stuff.
Regardless, I still think the original is a very good twist, but the whole short-lived “first female protagonist” thing is an unfortunate side effect.

I think the team marketing the game for having a female protagonist is a horrendous decision, not aided by the fact that the entire murder set up doesn’t make any logical sense in either the V3-1 explanation nor the V3-6 explanation, or how V3-6 basically says “hey remember the blackened rule about how if the blackened murdered someone but someone else gets executed, how everyone else dies immediately? Well screw that because stakes don’t exist, lol."
V3 is damn lucky it has V3-4 and V3-5 carrying it on its back.

I mean, even fans of the first two Danganronpas recognize the third as bad. I don't really feel like there's any worth in going in blind for the series's most infamous move... WHICH IS SAYING ALOT, THIS IS DANGANRONPA

That’s your subjective opinion. If you were a fan of the first two Danganronpa games, then your chances of enjoying the third one are pretty decent I feel like. Just because you think that the game is bad, doesn’t mean it’s fine for it to be spoiled, especially on one of the games biggest twists.
