Ideas for spare day

Hei,

Im visiting Norway from the UK later in the year and am going to have a spare day in Aalesund, anyone got suggestions of things I should try and do/see while there? Im thinking of trying to head up to the view point on Aksla, or maybe the one on Sugarlump mountain, but dont really know how long either of these would take or how achievable they would be for someone who is not necceserily used to climbing mountains routinely. Any insight on that would be handy. Im also open to any other suggestions.

Neither will take all day. I suggest either the aquarium, the largest in Northern Europe, or Sunnmøre Museum.

The museum especially can easily take a whole day. The outside area is large and free to roam around, and it has a lot of restores houses from different time periods, most of which are open to let people go inside and imagine how it was living back then. It also has many historical boats, from a small viking knarr to a boat that was used to smuggle refugees out of and weapons and ammunition in to Norway during the second world war.

Excellent, thanks! The Sunnmøre Museum sounds right up my street tbf. Is it easy enough to get to without a car by chance?
