In the 16th cycle they pulled the infamous switcharoo between those actually staying and those going home. Ondrei Edwards was one of the models picked to remain in the competition.
She was a beautiful model with potential. Sadly she entered ANTM with quite a bit of emotional trauma. She later revealed to the models the loss of one brother to a car wreck and one was murdered, the night before her prom.
To me this heightens the cruelty of the so-called "prank". To come all that way while dealing with such painful losses, be told no you're going home only to be later told PSYCHE! was cruel and sick. I would imagine it would have hurt her badly.
As to having the others make comments of:
-why did you come?
-I couldn't be here
-why aren't you showing emotions?
She stated she came in order to do something with her life, utilizing opportunities her brothers would never have. If she allowed herself to cry, show emotion and fall apart she probably would not have been able to function within a stressful and demanding competition.
After this was said to her, she called her family. Maybe it was what she needed to hear to realize she needed to step back and take the time to invest "me" time. Her overall well-being was much more important. Rewatching that episode made my heart go out to her again.
