Need some cheese to go with my whine 8 weeks pregnant w/ #2 nausea is so bad
Hey everyone,
I am so so so nauseous this time around. I’m 8 weeks pregnant & my first born is almost 6 months old. Drinking water first thing in the morning triggers the nausea & I feel it all day. It sucks so bad. The only food that sounds good is top ramen… I know that’s not healthy at all but your girl is struggling…
I’m waiting for my OBGYN appointment in a couple weeks to ask for anti-nausea meds but omg… it’s been so bad.
Anyone else experience worse symptoms the pregnancy after your first born?

I lived on ramen during my first trimester for both of my pregnancies! I would not use the little spice packet and use bone broth or bouillon instead.
If you can stomach a protein drink right away in the morning, it may help with the nausea. We are talking the second you wake up, you go try to sip on a drink. Fair Life tastes like chocolate milk, and Chobani makes drinkable yogurts that are also pretty good.

I drink coffee in the morning and used protein shake as creamer

For a little extra razzle dazzle, I do a splash of the Chobani creamer too if it’s not sweet enough!

Yes!!! I’m picking up some Chobani creamer at the store next time I’m there!

Definitely gonna try to ditch the spice packet. Thanks!

I’m not sure how much of a difference it makes, but somehow it made me feel like it was slightly more nutritious if I used broth or something in its place. I’d also add in a few things like frozen corn, some garlic, and a pat of butter. I also liked to add low sodium soy sauce.
Edited to add: I would reach out to your OB and ask about anti-nausea meds. I am guessing they would be willing to ok Unisom + B6… no reason for you to suffer until your appointment! Another thing I also started doing was taking my prenatal at night right before bed instead of in the morning!

I had ginger ale first thing in the morning during my first trimester. Only thing that got me by, but a few times I still got nauseated it entertained our eldest who was a year old at the time, who makes realistic puking noises now.

Boooooooo :(

Right?? I don’t think it is common though. Just know that now is about survival, and do what you can to make it through this window. It will pass.

The only thing that’s helped me is making sure I eat the second I open my eyes. Even if it’s a single saltine cracker. Then constantly eating high protein snacks no more than 2 hours between eating meals. Even if it’s a handful of nuts. Lots of apples and peanut butter here.

I’m 11 weeks with my third and the nausea has been so intense from like the day I got the positive test. I finally saw my obgyn and they told me to start taking vitamin b6 and unisom. It’s really helped over the last week or so.

I'm also 8 weeks! I have a 13 month old who just learned to walk and likes to run to the bathroom as soon as I do 😅 I was neverrr this sick with my first pregnancy. I've had no appetite and making meals has been nauseating. I also don't remember feeling this exhausted?! Hope it starts looking up for us soon! Also, congrats!

I got pregnant really soon after my first too, I feel so bad for you, morning sickness while caring for a baby is so so awful. My husband one time said he’d never been happier and I said “this is the darkest chapter of my life”. I felt like a shell of a person. And then the guilt kicks in bc all I could really do was stare at my daughter while she watched ms Rachel, but I sincerely could not function. I didn’t even trust myself getting out of the house to take her for drives.
I’m so sorry and the only thing I have to say is that it passes. And while it passes, your first will get easier to care for as well. But I wouldn’t wish those hard months on anybody. I hope your husband is helping you.

my first pregnancy was ROUGH and this one has been quite good.
i kid you not, my daughter is made up of almost exclusively mac and cheese, the occasional quesadilla and diet pop. i straight up could not stomach anything else 🤷🏻♀️ don't worry about the healthy. do what you can, when you can, but when you can't, don't stress. my mac and cheese kid is literally perfect.
you might be able to ask a pharmacist for a temporary prescription of anti nausea meds, they often can prescribe that to you while you wait. (at least, here they can. not sure about where you are, but doesn't hurt to ask!)

I’m sorry love. Hopefully it gets better. Whatever you can eat stick to it and hydrate. See if doctor can also give you meds to help. Each of my pregnancies were worse with nausea too. That’s when I realized three kids is all I can physically handle. Sending you love 💗

9 weeks pregnant with a 14 month old! I swear it’s so much harder the second time around when you have a baby depending on you.
I take unisom at night which helps a lot!
My advice is never let yourself get hungry. I am constantly snacking - goldfish and teddy grahams have been my go to. For some reason, bottled water is the only water that doesn’t come right back up. I think it’s the temperature?
Also chewing spearmint gum has been very helpful.
So sorry you’re going through this. Hoping it’s temporary and you have some relief the second trimester!

Yes. It’s usually worse with a baby girl! I took Zofran and unison and it was OK, not great. Balancing my blood sugar helped a ton. I followed a gestational diabetes diet even though I didn’t have it and it helped.

Unisom every night and vitamin B6 25mg 3x a day. Can order from amazon or pick up at any drugstore. You can also call your OB to call it in to a pharmacy. It’s literally a miracle worker for nausea

Oh man my second pregnancy was as rough. I was practically bed bound because any movement had me bolting to the bathroom. I remember my best friend begging me to take her to her Mayo Clinic surgery when I was 8 weeks and I sat in the waiting area focused on the bathroom door for 5 straight hours.
That was when a nurse checked on me (solid as a statue and never broke eye contact with the stupid door) and came back and gave me sea sickness bands. She put them on really tight to where they hurt, but for some reason they actually helped a lot. They sell them at Walmart and Target!
Because my first (girl) was so easy and had no morning sickness, I was so sure the second was going to be a boy. She was another girl so I guess all pregnancies really are different!

Call your OB and get a med sooner. Ask for Zofran if you’re comfortable with it. I’ve taken Zofran all three pregnancies and they are all perfect. I’ve don’t my own research and have determined the lack of risk (basically nonexistent) is worth the benefit. For my first two pregnancies, my obgyn was emphatic about zofrans safety. We moved and I saw a midwife one time and she acted like I was asking for a meth injection when I asked for Zofran. I switch to another provider and yet again, they were very supportive of my desire for relief and the lack of risks of Zofran.
eta— you are NOT alone. I suffered horribly all three pregnancies. It was awful. It has passed thank goodness, but I hate when people minimize how hard it really is. “Oh it gets better if you wait”… ok so I need to feel like death from weeks 6-14 mk mk mk.

Diclegis (unisom + vitamin b6 25 mg) saved me during my second pregnancy. Took it up until delivery date because the nausea never ended for me.
Both are over the counter medications - you can probably message your doctor for them to confirm, if you’re uncomfortable taking new medications without OB’s approval. You MUST take them both together for it to have anti-nausea effects. I always took mine at night because of the unisom.
Wishing you the best of luck and hope you feel better!

The sea bands and the morning sickness lozenges helped me before I got zofran. Also eating anything is better than nothing. Don't worry about nutrition. I was sick all 9 months and I lived on mashed potatoes, graham crackers, and plain pasta. Water made me throw up too. Take a prenatal (also made me throw up) and don't worry about not eating healthy. Keeping anything down is better than attempting to eat healthy and throwing it all up and then some. On really bad days I took my prenatal with milk and that worked amazing
