America’s Most Convenient Bank?

What exactly makes TD Bank “the most convenient bank? Because the ones around me are pretty much the opposite. They have consistently long lines with only 1 or 2 tellers, and have cut their operating hours compared to a few years ago. Also when I try get change for quarters (usually $10) it was a simple switch cash for change and go. Now I have to insert my card into their system machine and the teller had to do something in the computer. All for $10?

So what is so convenient about them?

Insight?

Made the switch to TD bank Tuesday, set up direct deposit. My employer did submit payroll until 215 pm on Wednesday (yesterday). Back when I first started this job I made the switch from online banking apps I went from current to Cash App the day before employer submitted payroll and got my direct deposit with Cash App. “Normal” payday is Friday but never got paid on Friday because it was always available a day early through Cash App. It’s now 1:20 am as I woke up and decided to check and see if I got my money yet and nothing. When time can I expect to see my money?

Why is my TD Bank math not adding up? $15 pending but only $7 showing.

My Simple Savings started at $16.38. The app says my Available Balance is only $1.38, which means there’s a total of $15.00 pending. However, when I look at the actual transaction list at the bottom, I only see transfers totaling $7.00 ($1 + $1 + $5).

Where is the other $8.00?

The checking account seems fine ($203.69 - $118.92 = $84.77), but the savings side is driving me crazy. Does TD usually hide pending transactions from the activity list while still taking them out of the available total? Is this just a midnight processing glitch or should I be worried about a hidden fee/hold?

Phoenix location

I was hired on as fully remote contact center rep but they said after training I might have to come into office once a week. Does anyway work for TD out of Phoenix and been to the office. Is it laid back or is it strict ? Cause I made up my mind I’m not going into office and if they try and force me I’m just going to have to quit if they can’t accommodate me.

TD's slogan: It doesn't matter who suffers, so long as we make even more money!

An email from TD re my credit card:

  • The Definition of a Balance Transfer is being updated.
  • Any unpaid interest will be subject to interest which will continue to accrue until it is paid in full.

Now if only they can figure out a way to charge interest on the interest owed on the accrued interest...

We the people...

There is a way to put the banks in their place--i.e. just who they get their money from in the first place, IF ONLY (which is where it dies before it even gets started) people would stand together.

Suppose everyone took their money, moved their banking business, transferred loans out of TD/Canada Trust and moved to any other one bank, I don't favour any particular but, say, since BMO's bank code is 001, then to BMO: what would happen to TD? And then what would BMO do to keep all that extra business = $$$ ? Think they would increase interest on accounts?; lower loan and mortgage rates?? Do away with monthly account fees?
All of the above?

And what would the other banks do to keep this from happening to them? Follow suit, maybe... ?

"We the people" We have all the power--if only people would stand together, we could change EVERYTHING...

Payment From Canada to US Held Up?

Apparently my wire transfer from a Canadian company to my personal TD checking account has been held up by “The Feds” - is this happening to anyone else?

TD couldn’t tell me exactly what agency is responsible for the hold-up. I’ve been successfully receiving payments from them for about a year now, so it’s not like first time transaction jitters. They also can’t tell me exactly how long this is gonna take, which is, y’know, a big problem for me.

ID Scanned?

After being asked for ID for a transaction I was making, they proceeded to scan my ID or swipe it on a machine behind the counter. Anyone know what that is for? Happened at another bank as well.

Declines and website doesn't work

Hi. Has anyone experienced getting your card declined and then you can't access the website to see anything because it's all having technical issues and you have to wait on the phone for an hour to speak with anyone? I still can't use my card and I couldn't be on the phone yesterday for an hour. But I logged onto the website today. I saw that I have a really low balance (shouldn't be decline), but I can't access any other page on the website. I guess I have to wait until Monday to figure it out. I don't see any website down reports so I'm not sure why it's happening.

Question regarding mobile deposit...

I recently (yesterday) opened a TD Checking Account in pursuit of the bonus, I made a mobile deposit this morning. A little over two thousand but it's a disbursement from a notable broker. It says funds pending with a deduction equivalent to the notational value of the deposit, but no hold notice or date indicating anything uncharacteristic, so that means 275 tomorrow, and then the rest the business day thereafter (tuesday in this case) right? If I'm not misunderstanding the funds availability policy? (provided there's no hold applied in the interim)

TD Bank DoubleUp Card One Time Late Fee Forgiveness? Not Entirely.

Be careful never to pay your card late with this company.

Yes, I screwed up. I'm human. It was a technical error on my part, for clicking one wrong button, during scheduling my payment. It happens every 5 years or so, where you end up paying your credit card bill late on accident. This time, I had scheduled my payment online with the wrong funding account, and it didn't go through. So, I had it paid two days late, in full. Nothing to worry about, I thought; I will just call customer service and see if they can help me.

Long story short... TD will refund your late fee and one month's interest charge fee. So yeah, thankfully on a $10,000+ monthly credit card bill, that was hundreds of dollars. What they don't tell you, is that their customer service over the phone is horrendously rude, and do not have any concept of customer service. My local TD bank rep that knows even called, and they were even snotty to her over the phone.

I spend $10-15k a month on this card, so they're making tons of money off of me. That meant nothing.

Being charged Residual interest just isn't fair, but they will no longer issue me a credit or waiver. I was told the "finance charges" from my accidental late payment would be forgiven one time (up to one time per calendar year), and since these new charges are a direct result of that same event, I feel that they should be included in the one-time-per-year courtesy.

Maybe I should report this to Consumer Affairs? Or maybe, if someone from TD Bank actually reads this forum, someone who has their head on straight can actually assist me. Otherwise, I am long gone as a customer, just because of how this was handled. It was a simple oversight, and I am a little bit disappointed so far with how I am being treated as a customer. I can get another card with many other banks that offer the same rewards.

Credit Card Printing & USPS

TD Bank, as of January 2026 no longer generates credit cards on site and instead relies on centralized locations with the new card sent to you by mail. What a poorly thought out change. Imagine trading customer goodwill and relying on the reliability of the United States Postal Service.

I am a customer since 2014 and am on month 3 without a physical credit card. Multiple attempts to contact customer service have been stonewalled - the only solution offered is to restart the process which takes “7-10 business days” to reach you. Those are bank business days by the way, not the 6 day workweek of the USPS. Even when escalating beyond customer service has yielded no results after promised call backs from “management” never happened.

The kicker - they turned off my autopay and sent me a late fee notice by mail when I didn’t notice.

I don’t know about the rest of you but I’m taking my business elsewhere. Local credit unions or a major competitor - I just received a notice from Citizen’s for cash bonuses to switch banks and I think I’m making the jump.

What a dogshit bank.

Hello, any help about OD fees?

Hi, my account went -$475, I know a complete mistake I had bills and other expenses that needed to be paid, and didn’t realize I went over -$475 until after they all posted.

I get paid next Friday (8 days from now.) I will not have any more transactions in the account until that direct deposit hits, what’s the fee damage going to be?

Is it just the $105?

I have never had my account go negative, and have been a long standing TD member. I just messed up and I have no one to blame but myself, but with that all being said I need the OD fee to only be $105, I won’t have anymore debits or anything like that, outside the $105, but am I going to receive more fees than that?

Thanks in advance.
