Parking in Stafford

I’m moving to Stafford soon and have found a place in the town centre. Is there anywhere in the centre or near where there is free parking? I have a car park next to the house but it’s £5 for 24 hours…

Chiedza Nyanjowa is now the 13th person to lose their life in a heatwave water-related incident

Police reveal a 15-year-old schoolgirl tragically died after suffering difficulty in water. The incident happened at Formby beach, Southport as emergency services were called to the scene off Albert Road.

At about 3.30pm on Bank Holiday Monday (May 25) concerns were raised "about the safety of a girl". The Mirror reports witnesses told Merseyside Police they believed the youngster had got into difficulty in the water.

She was rushed to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in a critical condition. Merseyside Police have now issued a statement to say the girl has sadly passed away and is named Chiedza Nyanjowa.

A force spokesperson said Chiedza's devastated family has said she would be "remembered for her kind spirit".

They said: "Her family would like to express their gratitude to everyone that helped Chiedza. Her family are glad that there were people around her to support her, their support shows that she was loved.

"This is a difficult time for the family, who would appreciate any form of prayer. Her family describe her as a bubbly person, she loved Christ and going to church.

"She loved cooking, she was a giver and wanted to be nurse when she grew up so she could give back. She will be greatly missed and remembered for her kind spirit."

The 15-year-old's death comes after 12 other water-related fatalities in the UK during the ongoing heatwave. On Friday, Charlie Noble, 16, was named as the boy who died at Bracklinn Falls near Callander, Scotland.

We spent yesterday at the Burslem Urban Rock Festival, with live music taking place under the shadow of the fantastic Lemmy statue in the town centre. It was great to see Burslem alive with music again, pubs full in the sunshine, and people out supporting local venues, bands and businesses!

Want to set up a group?....Community Space Available In Burton

Hi all

I have recently taken over a space in Burton that I want to make available for community groups at zero cost.

I have three rooms available, basically a small room that can fit around 15, a medium room for around 25 and a large room where we could get around 50 depending on configuration.

We also have catering on site for teas/coffees/cakes and hot food.

So if you have a community group, or are thinking of setting up a group and need a space, feel free to get in touch.

Question Where to buy a flat cap in Leek?

Hello all. I'm on a day out in Leek on Wednesday and am not from the area. I was wondering if there were any recommended shops or market stalls in Leek or nearby areas where I could pick up a flat cap? Not looking to spend loads just something cheap and cheerful. Thank you.
