All Fizzi here, AMA! Summit stats guy, smashgg employee, monitor lag

Twitter: @fizzi36

Hey guys, I'm Fizzi and I'm a smashgg developer. I've worked on a few projects related to smash, mainly:

I'm going to post this AMA now and likely check it every now and then throughout the day to answer some of the easier questions. If there are more complicated questions I might wait until after work to answer them properly. I'll be doing the AMA all day. Please ask me stuff!

BenQ setups introduce 2 frames of lag when compared to a CRT. It's very possible that some players are simply more susceptible to lag, however small the difference.

2ms. 2 frames would be 32ms. People could definitely notice that. No one can notice 2ms. That's 2/1000 of a second.

I think he meant BenQ setups that aren't setup properly?

When one was taken to our scene (actually the one I'm typing on now, though it wasn't mine at the time), it wasn't setup properly the first week. It definitely had some significant lag, but not so significant it was unplayable. Probably 1 to 3 frames. Once he got the correct adapter, it felt like a CRT response wise.

It's usually 2 frames. Minimum lag with an HD display is 1 frame. The upscaler (capture card or Framemeister or whatever) adds at least another frame. There's no such thing as 2ms of lag in practice.

You're 100% wrong.
