Just realized during re-watch..

I was watching the Death and Stuff episode from season 1 and realized that the lady that comes to look at the washer and dryer with her husband is the same actress (Lee Garlington) that plays Darlene's friend Karen in the Santa Claus episode from season 4.

I know its common to recycle guest stars, but this one made me laugh because of how crazy the episode was. It would of been hilarious if they would of kept her name as Carol and had her make a reference to it when she sees Roseanne at her book store.

Rodbells/Lanford Cycle unanswered questions

  1. Why didn’t Rosanne and Bonnie get jobs in the Rodbells bargain bin after the restaurant closed?

  2. How long would Becky and Mark made if the bike shop didn’t close, or if Mark found a job in Lanford? What if the bike shop closed after she finished high school?

  3. What would Darlene have named her pony?

The first question kept me up at night.

DJ is honestly worse than Becky.

Im a bit younger than most of the people who watch the show (I was born in 2000). And I see a lot of people complain about Becky. While I do think shes absolutely spoiled, I dont see anyone talk about the weird little psycho, DJ.

Im a only child so I never had a sibling to base any of this off of. But what was the deal with his attitude? He seemed waaay more whiny comapred to the other two, and he was a bit of a wuss unless it was making fun of David or arguing for what he wanted.

A good example was the episode where Rossane broke her back druing his birthday. That boy had no reason to go out and get that game system, then act a fool during his birthday. Sure Rossane isnt supposed to be a perfect mom, but I felt bad for her and Dan when Bev did that behind their back.

Is this a normal thought with older viewers?

Tax episode question

I absolutely love the Tax Day episode (especially the "audit" gag) but the ending of it has always confused me. After Roseanne & Dan finally get back home from the IRS office, Becky & Darlene present them with their completed tax return, and all they have to do is sign it and take it to the post office (at least I assume that's where they're going at the end). But how did the return get finished while they were out all that time? Did Jackie do it for them?

Becky whiplash

Wtf is going on? I watched the show for the first time several years ago, and I am rewatching, currently on season 9 (god it's bad). The early seasons were so funny, though. Anyways, the way the Becky actress keeps switching back and forth is absurd and annoying. That is all.

Watch Roseanne on Archive

I canceled my peacock subscription because of how much they altered from the original. Someone on here mentioned Archive.org, and it has been fantastic. While rewatching all of the seasons, there are SO MANY scenes that were never removed. These scenes help to explain multiple jokes/provide actual context to what is happening in the scene.

The only downside is the listing of each episode not being in order. After one episode ends, the next will play automatically (not in the correct order).

On a different note, I finished the episode where Fred takes Jackie to the cabin. Roseanne is watching her fantasy on the tv and the guy gives her the video tape…..ROMANCING THE BONE?!?! 😭😭

Edits on Peacock driving me crazy

Is there another streaming service that plays Roseanne without a bunch of stuff being cut out? Almost every episode I have watched today had scenes cut out or shortened. For example, I just watched Terms of Estrangement pt 1 and the scene where Roseanne asks Darlene if Becky is going to school was completely shortened. In the original, Roseanne tells Darlene to look her in the eye and tell her she isnt lying. Darlene then says, "That only works on DJ".

On this watch, the first part is omitted and Darlene still says, "im not lying". I know its not a huge deal, but once Darlene left it still shows Jackie asking Roseanne if Darlene was lying to which Roseanne replies, "IDK that only works on DJ". How are they gonna cut out parts of scenes and include other parts that go with it?

I know its not a huge deal, but I am a die hard original Roseanne fan and the cutting of all sorts of scenes and cold opens is driving me insane!

After Jackie leaves for trucking school. And Becky is growing up. And Darlene is leaving, because she went to a party lol. He's the one who's been waiting in line.

When this part comes on, I always stop and watch. It's such a beautiful moment.

Which character(s) were only on for one or two episodes that you wish they would have developed further? Just for fun, I would like to see what things they could have done with Bert! 😂

Season 9 of Roseanne isn’t my favorite and here’s why.

So I love the show Roseanne however season 9 of Roseanne isn’t my favorite. Why?

well I don’t like the Dan cheating arc because it doesn’t seem right for him in character, also of course the ending of season 9 I don’t think anyone likes. Reminds me of Dallas season where it was all a dream when someone died except it was the complete opposite where the entire season 9 was a dream with someone alive and revealing someone died.

But also the lottery ticket wining.. okay I kinda like it but the other stories that are in the season is just.. odd? Like the train Epsiode, the one where a prince dates Jackie? Idk If it’s just me but those stories seem filler stories and doesn’t make season 9 all that good.

only one thing I like from season 9 is where Darlene has her baby early and the entirety of it was written well.

i want do know what is y’all’s opinions on the entirety of season 9?

Bridge Over Troubled Sonny

I just rewatched this episode, and I forgot how everyone laughs about Sonny being in the bridge. I know it’s a sitcom, but he’s dead and buried in a bridge! It’s wild that everyone giggles about it and can’t keep a straight face when it’s brought up.

Guilt by Disassociation is one of my favorite episodes and Roseanne's back and forth with Muriel is such an iconic scene. Muriel hiring Roseanne without even clarifying her skills was devastating too

Making Jackie straight

So.. didn’t it go against the way Roseanne was and what she stood for, for her to change the fact that Jackie was gay? Why would someone who loves someone deny and change the sexual preference of someone they love? Of the final episode, that part has never sat right with me..

I absolutely love that scene and his nonchalant agreement.
I’m sure I quoted it wrong though.

How Long Would The Revived Series Have Lasted With Roseanne?

Roseanne never gets fired , how long does the new series last? Would her continued presence have stifled the character development of other characters in your view or could it have helped them?

David look alike today

Sorry as much as i really really wanted to take a picture of this guy , i did not. But. I must share.
I was at my local cvs waiting for meds and around the corner to the counter came this guy priv in his early twenties, looked exactly like David. Hair style and all. Except he was Asian. Even this guy’s mannerisms were the same.
You don’t know how bad i wanted to say something. Possibly whip out a pic of David. lol.
That’s it. That’s my story. I just had to stare as no one in my real life watches.
