Hi everyone. My partner and I are thinking about buying a property on Ellen ave (29732) or Marshall St (29730) in Rock Hill. We've visited both areas and it's hard to tell if the neighborhoods are unsafe or if they just have low income populations. I know the two are closely related, but not always.

I've looked at the crime maps for both areas and it doesn't look great, but I'm not sure if we should be more wary of the potential crime/safety in those areas or not.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Turns out, the pandemic lockdowns brought about some pretty wild changes. Case in point - the city added more fire staff, but subtracted almost 2000 power poles!?

Makes you wonder, what were all the new firefighters up to between calls? 🪓😂

I recently learned that SC leads the US in banned books. I'd like the full list of titles to use as a reading list. I called the library in RH hoping to get such a list. I thought a public library in SC would have a list of banned titles, here. I sure was wrong about that - they have no readily available list. That doesn't surprise me, but it is disappointing.

Anyway, I want a reading list because I'm thinking about starting to hang at Amelie's one morning a week and publicly, quietly, read a banned book with my latte. Include a sign that says "I am reading a banned book".

I think this is the same guy who got banned from all those churches in RH for arguing with the pastors. He flipped one of the signs around and it said "Rock Hill worships Baal." Didn't realize the Civitas statues were so controversial.
