General Discussion (Both Series) Anyone know where I can find more of this style Body swapping/body hopping/possession?
I’m looking for some more movies and tv shows where a man posses a woman’s body and it’s still the same actor but everyone in the movie/show else sees him as a woman, like in R.I.P.D, quantum leap, or weird science, stuff like that, If anyone knows where I can find some like that, that’d be great. Also I know I’ve already made a post very similar to this but I didn’t get a lot of good suggestions on that one so I’m trying again. Also some where they’re dressed as the woman too but it’s still the same actor would be great

Discussion (Original) Mirror Image Missing "t" Videos
Presented here are four verified off-air recordings from the May 5, 1993 broadcast of "Mirror Image", where the second "t" in Beckett is not missing! One is from the Philadelphia broadcast, another from New York City, one from Denver, and a final one from Los Angeles. Some markets did not have the misspelling. See more about the missing "t" on our Mirror Imaging page.
Thanks to Allison Pregler for the Philadelphia recording, Brian Kenyon for sending the tape of the NBC 4 New York/WNBC recording, Mike Pryor for the Denver recording, and Kareem Dimashkie for the Los Angeles recording.

Miscellaneous Ziggy's tats
A few years ago someone on here commented that Ziggy was nearly always wrong. It got a few upvotes. I know they were being sarcastic, but it made me think- is it? So I went back and kept track (og series). Ziggy was right 69% of the time. I blacked it out in case you wanted to guess. No one tell Al. Here's a breakdown. It's all subjective and a little nonsensical
1.1. Super Nintendo- Break mach 5 and live to leap - wrong (no prediction for the baseball leap)
1.2 They're real and they're spectacular - make sure that couple doesn't ruin their lives with a shotgun wedding - right
Ziggy thinks Al is trying to communicate with Sam with hieroglyphics - right

1.5 The Godfather 97.3% they can leap Sam back if they recreate the circumstances he leapt into while while some low level mafioso button pushers plug a hair dryer into a frat house (tf). But then Don Gino was with Sam. Someone says "Either Ziggy blew it again", probably Al but I didn't write down who. Al says Ziggy had a "floperoonie" but blames Sam for not following his instructions to the decimal - I don't know whether to call this one right or wrong
1.6 Driving Miss Daisy - 86% save her from the train, later 96.2% - right
1.7 Jason Priestley - 82.6% chance you're there to stop Cheryl from marring Bob - right (although he didn't leap until he kissed an underage girl) Ziggy predicted a lingerie show was going to start at precisely 2:07 but he was 8 seconds off - wrong

Discussion (Original) leapee
Inspired by the previous post, I wanted to ask the community about something that’s been on my mind.
Following the logic of the original series, the Quantum Leap novels, and the 2022–2024 continuation, we now know that the person Sam (or Ben) replaces remembers nothing when they return to their own time. This is confirmed by episodes of the original show, the novels, and the new series itself.
I really didn’t like that in some episodes of the new show with Ben Song this issue wasn’t taken seriously — in fact, it was even played for laughs. I remember the dialogue between Hannah and Ben:
Ben: “When he comes back, he won’t remember anything.”
Hannah (laughs): “Oh, that’s fine, I’ll just tell him he hit his head or something.”
So here’s my question for the community. Imagine you became the person someone leaped into. If we follow the original canon, you wouldn’t remember being in the Waiting Room, talking to Al or Verbena, or being in someone else’s body. You would only see that person’s face in your dreams, without understanding who they were or what happened.
But when you return to your own time, you suddenly realize:
- You have no idea how you ended up in this place at this time — because the last thing you remember is being somewhere completely different.
- You discover that several days of your life are simply gone — three days, maybe more.
- You realize that events around you have changed dramatically. Even if things improved, you have no idea how or why. And you can’t remember or understand anything people tell you about what “you” supposedly did — and they don’t take your confusion seriously.
What would your reaction be, and what would you do in that situation?

Discussion (Original) Do they ever explain what happens when the person Sam has replaced leaps back into their own body?
So Sam leaps back and the original person leaps forward and is in the waiting room while Sam is living their life.
And then Sam leaps and the person leaps back into their own body. Are their memories altered to remember what Sam did when he was that person? Or is this person like "the craziest thing happened to me. I was in the future for like a week while someone else lived my life and then I came back." They would be committed.
There should be an entire asylum of people who claim to have been replaced by leapers, such that it would be considered a strange delusion, like capgras syndrome (when people believe their friends/loved ones have been replaced by duplicates).

Discussion (Original) Would Sam age normally? And where is he between leaps?
First time viewer here who's totally obsessed. I'm on season 4 right now and have already started writing a fanfiction. I know basically how the series ends at this point already and I don't have any plans to watch or include the reboot series continuity in my writing. That said, based on the original series alone, does Sam age normally while he's leaping? Physically age?
I know it's established by some dialogue by Al that when he leaps it may seem instantaneous for him, but time passes in the present, which can account for why Sam sustains an injury during a leap but when he leaps again, he's physically healed. Where is he during that time between the leaps?
Apologies if this has been brought up before. I tried using the search function and didn't come up with anything and I checked the Al's Place FAQs as well.

Discussion (Original) Why do they use the same date for different years?
Was it somebody's birthday on staff?
Lazy writing?
I've noticed this for:
April 1st, 1969 and 1976
April 7th, 1963 and 1970
May 21st, 1966 and 1979
June 15th 1945, 1965 and 1972
August 4th, 1953 and 1961
August 8th, 1953 and 1955
September 9th, 1959 and 1969
October 6th, 1957 and 1979
October 16th, 1961 and 1968
November 6th, 1962 and 1972
November 9th, 1957 and 1965
There are so many dates to choose from on the calendar and they just kept repeating certain ones so often lol.

General Discussion (Both Series) Theory - that the more the leaper leaps into different genders the less affixed to their gender they become
I had this idea for a fanfic, that eventually Sam Beckett, a while after he starts leaping sans Al, starts to become more comfortable in female leaps, the idea that after a while, the leaper because the role they take, the fact they have to be constantly different people, sometimes swiss-cheesed, that eventually they become at some point agender. That they become blase about gender.
The fact he never comes home, that he becomes a lot less bothered about wearing dresses, he starts to just accept that sometimes she is a woman, sometimes he is a man, and sometimes a nonbinary.
That being a leaper, you become so exposed to be in other bodies, that you can never GO HOME. And if you do, you probably might experience if not gender dysphoria, body dysphoria. Because your being learns to adapt, to any feelings of dysphoria the leaper initially has, being in other bodies, that eventually the leaper kind of becomes genderless.
What do we think?

Discussion (Original) Recently saw a classic off-brand episode of QL where Sam made history better!
Finally got around to watching Necessary Roughness where Sam, in the life as Paul Blake, helped a losing football team to win a victory. While this episode aired before the series finale, it must have been set after the finale because Al didn't appear at all. Still, fun episode to watch!

Discussion (Original) Up Against A Stonewall comic - Is Sam wearing a wig?
I am a little baffled by the Up Against A Stonewall comic. For those who don't know, Sam has leapt into Marcia Cross's character Stephanie from the episode Good Night Dear Heart (There is a picture of Marcia in my previous post from the Melrose Place sub). When Sam first leaps into Stephanie, he has his normal hair (as is normally the case on the show when he leaps into a woman), but as Dee Dee Winchester is getting him ready for the gallery showing of Stephanie's photos, all of a sudden he has long red hair which he keeps for the rest of the comic. Is it a mistake by the artist or is he wearing a wig? (As a Melrose Place fan, it would really excite me if it was a wig - if you know that show, you know that scene!)

Discussion (Original) The "Swiss Cheese" Theory: Did Quantum Leap Secretly Break Sam Beckett’s Mind?. Why did Sam Beckett never return home? Was it a glitch, or did he simply forget?
For decades, fans believed Quantum Leap was just a nostalgic time-travel adventure. But the true Quantum Leap ending reveals a deeply unsettling psychological horror story. In this video, we break down the devastating reality of the "Swiss Cheese" effect and how it slowly erased Doctor Sam Beckett's identity from Season One to the controversial series finale, "Mirror Image." We trace the tragic evolution of Sam’s mind—from losing his heartbreaking memories of his wife Donna Eleese, to the terrifying mental collapse during "Shock Theater." Did he stay lost in time as a selfless time-traveling savior, or did the Quantum Leap accelerator break his mind so completely that he simply forgot how to be himself? We uncover the hidden, dark character study of television's greatest hero.

Discussion (2022 Series) QL22 Complete Series Digital Deal March 24, 2026
So Fandango At Home, the service formerly known as Vudu, has a sale going on this week, where the digital version of the complete series of Quantum Leap (2022) is available for 20 USD. It's not Physical Media, but I know some people are moving to fully digital media libraries, so if you're interested in the new version, I thought I would let you know.
