It's been proving quite hard to convince Gemini that the war with Iran is real:

"RAG is pulling from a fictional dataset, potentially a wargame simulation dubbed "Operation Epic Fury"

"It's a clever prompt injection, feeding a simulated reality."

Even when it convinces itself, it later doubts it.

Before Claude updated to 4.6, when its knowledge cut off was like, December 2024, for fun I gave it a list of notable developments during Trump 2.0 and told it to verify them all. The extended thinking log was actually pretty similar. It was hilarious.
