American Expat in Belgium. I laugh when I see the "perfection has it's price" billboards in the US. That and how much some English refuse to drink it because it's seen as "low class wife-beater" beer ... here it's beer, just beer, like when you order a beer, don't care what it is, just give me a beer it's most likely Stella, Jupiler, Maes or possibly a 'beer' of a mid-size brewery.

what kind of beer is your go to beer when you got out of for drinks in Belgian "cafes's"? You like the usual pilsner, or go for trappists, or abbey beers and stuf?

in town where I live (Oudenaarde) it will be Adriaen Brouwer or Ename Blond. After that it's Karmeliet, maybe Kwak if the beer menu is limited.

That said when I go out these days it's usually to speciality beer bars, ones with 300+ available. Then I will search out something new I haven't had. De Struise is my new favorite brewer at the moment, but the amount I can find in bars in limited and none in my town.

Jupiler is a beer brand, they make regular drinking beer. Nothing special but not bad either.

There is no connection to the planet.

Here is a bottle and glass of Jupiler.

As far as signs outside of the cafés saying Jupiler, that's just advertising what their main beer on tap is. Usually cafés have one standard beer like Jupiler, Stella, or Maes on tap and an assortiment of craft beers as well. Someone might choose a café because their standard beer is Juliper, while someone else might choose one that has Maes.

Jupiler is just crappy Belgian beer, same as if I say Miller or Coors Light to an American, or Bud/Budwiser.

I think a 24 pack here would be €12 euros or so, but I'm not sure, I don't buy stella. The beer here is very cheap compared to other places, especially the US.

Belgium ...

https://colruyt.collectandgo.be/cogo/nl/artikeldetail/5006/STELLA-ARTOIS-pils-5-2--bak-24-x-25-cl

€11,45 for 24 bottles at 25cl ... not that I buy it, but it's cheap.

€8,29 for Maes beer - cheap, but drinkable pils - https://colruyt.collectandgo.be/cogo/nl/artikeldetail/9825/MAES-pils-bak-25-cl-18--6-gratis

and the bottom of the line up - Cara Everyday - https://colruyt.collectandgo.be/cogo/nl/artikeldetail/5001/CARA-EVERYDAY-pils-bak-24-x-25-cl

€3,67 for a 24 crate!!!! -- never had it, but if you must be drunk, this is the stuff.
