As they should. It's advertising, that's their job.

Aye, they're doing a good job. Same with Fosters, over here its, "The drink of the Aussies!" Then the Aussies don't even drink it.

I'm far from a beer expert - in fact I only properly started drinking about 2 years ago (close to 18 now). But I can guarantee you that I could tell the difference between a nice pint of Peroni and a pint of fosters, unless I was smashed.

In fairness, that test you did would not work on everybody. I have tried blind taste-tests and the like before and I'm rarely wrong. You have to bear in mind that some people can't even tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi...

On the other hand, the difference isn't that great, no, but again referring back to Coke and Pepsi - some people may love one and hate the other, and vice versa. If it was Fosters in a Peroni glass as one of my first drinks, I would definitely be able to tell that something was off. Obviously, if I'd had a few already I probably wouldn't, but that goes for most things.

Holy shit you've been drinking for two years straight? I'd ask how you do it but it seems you're not quite human..

50% human. 50% jellyfish. Don't ask me how it happened.

I dont know man, people in on reddit always talk down on budweiser and yet people still buy that rat piss in record numbers.

Its exotic and authentic and apparently Australia and the US are different enough its counts. I've always thought the two are basically the same country on most levels.

u/Larsjr Dec 06 '16

One has better internet and cheaper everything though

Both like their muscle cars.

u/I426Hemi Dec 06 '16

Australia just gets all the Utes and I can't get one in the fucking USA dammit!

Some us like budweiser because it's light and simple and tastes identical everywhere. Whenever I buy a microbrew it's a complete tossup of whether it's going to taste good or be suitable only for beer aficionados, which is something I don't personally aspire to be.

3

u/GabrielBonilla Dec 06 '16

Thats fine man, people can drink whatever they want. If someone offered me a budweiser, i'd accept no problem. But I would never purchase it on my own will.

Lol my husband bought a case of Budweiser for Thanksgiving, because he "thought it was the authentic American way" and he wanted to "be like all the good ol' boys throwing beer cans at their TV screens while watching the football."

But they do have great commercials.

1

u/TheKlonipinKid Dec 06 '16

6

u/Assdolf_Shitler Dec 06 '16

No, Lynyrd Skynyrd Simple Man, possibly the greatest song ever produced by mankind.

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '16 edited Dec 06 '16

Do they even sell it here (in Australia)?

2

u/I426Hemi Dec 06 '16

If by here you mean US you can usually find single cans at most grocers.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '16

Nah, I meant Australia but thanks

In Mexico, Corona (and Sol) seems to be more for gringos on vacation in Cancun. Most people, in Mexico City at least, drink Negro Modelo and Bohemia. In fact, in my two months in living in Mexico City, I never saw anyone drinking a Corona. Interestingly in the U.S., a lot of chicanos like Corona and Tecate, although Mexicans in Mexico have interesting opinions about chicanos, but that's another thread in itself.
*Not Mexican, was just living there for an internship one summer and those were my observations

I tried Fosters in the UK since it's the cheapest beer there. One of the few beers I actually don't like to drink no matter what the price is.
