A bit of a weird post

Upvotes

Honestly feel so lonely at this uni, it’s now summer and I'm about to go back home. I fell out with my closest friends and never felt so alone at uni. I wonder how my next year will be and if it’ll be easy to make more friendships in my course. Everything feels so daunting. This is kind of a weird post but i think i just wanted to let it out somewhere

Disabled Student: International Halls Vs Garden Halls

Hi everyone o/

What are your experiences with International & Garden Halls? For context, I have autism/anxiety and some physical mobility issues so I'm basing my decision on which halls I move into based on that. If anyone could answer the following questions I'd be super grateful, TIA ❤️

- What is the vibe in the halls? Is it a lot of late night screaming/partying etc?

- Do the lifts consistently work? Climbing lots of stairs wont be possible for me

- Are the doors heavy? Not just main doors but any interconnecting doors you'd be going through to get to your rooms

- How friendly are the staff / how understanding are they of disability?

- Will reception sign for your parcels? I get glass bottle medication delivered which has to be signed for, what is the procedure for how they handle mail like this?

- Is there a smoking area on site or do you have to leave the building completely?

And for all my mentally unwell/ehlers-danlos or otherwise physically disabled queens:

- What was your own experience/someone you knows experience with the halls as a disabled student?

- If you/someone you know is physically disabled, did the staff help these students move their belongings into their rooms from outside the building?

Subletting near KCL in July/August

Hi all,
I'm coming to London for July and August from the U.S. for a research program located right near the Shoreditch High Street stop. I noticed that KCL is nearby and might be a good spot to sublet. Any common method for people to sublet in the area, perhaps from students? Thanks!

Unable to Access Accommodation Portal

Hi! Is anyone else seeing this?

I registered less than two weeks ago and I'm currently on the accommodation waitlist. I'm getting a bit worried that I won't be allocated a room.

Has anyone who registered recently had the same message, and did you eventually receive accommodation? Any experiences would be really appreciated!

Accommodation I am on my way to book Vauxhall!! Anyone else there too??

So after 2 weeks of badgering the accommodation team with emails and calls, finally my booking option opened up. (Its a long story…)anyhow— I am looking at Vauxhall as an option coz thats the closest to my campus (Strand) and within my budget.
Before booking, I wanted to know, anyone else booked Vauxhall?? I am really confused on which floor I should target (I am thinking 17th and up should not be a problem with the train sounds and stuff right)
Also if you’re staying at Vauxhall, lets connect and get to know each other 😀😀 (Drop in a DM!!)
Anyone stayed there before— pls drop in a review about the social life, nearby grocery and shopping options and what’s best and what’s not and stuff…

Undergraduate Anyone still waiting for CS uncon offer?

I’ve applied for Computer Science at KCL and I’m still waiting for my unconditional offer. I submitted my final grades and IELTS test result at the beginning of May, and I’ve already passed the qualification check. As far as I know, I’ve met all of my offer conditions, but I haven’t received any updates yet. Is anyone else in the same situation? If you’ve recently received your unconditional offer for Computer Science, how long did it take after submitting everything? Starting to get a bit worried, so I’d appreciate hearing about other people’s experiences.🥲🥲

Class divide within British students

Whenever someone asks about classism and class divides at KCL the answers always focus on internationals but I’m curious about the British students side of this.

How does the class divide manifest here? Is there typical snobbery and overtly posh behaviour? I’m assuming befriending them can be quite difficult if you’re not from their background too?

Thanks 😃

Postgraduate MA Public Policy

I am debating choosing between MA Public Policy at KCL or MSc International Public Policy at UCL.

Has anyone taken MA Public Policy at KCL? How many people were in this course? Would you say the campus life is better at KCL than UCL?

I can now only access rooms that are standard price, I emailed kcl twice and they haven’t replied. Has this happened to anyone else Ik it’s my fault but idk what to do 😭

All offer conditions narrowly missed

The conditions for my ucl bsc Econ offer was A* in maths and AA. I achieved AAA with 89% in maths. I also missed similar conditions for all my other offers (kcl and Warwick). (4.9 TMUA)
I have to decide which ones to pick as firm and insurance by tomorrow 😬.
I was originally thinking Warwick and kcl cause that’s probably the highest chance of me getting in. But I really wanted to get into ucl.
Realistically speaking are there any chances of me getting into a uni if I pick ucl and Warwick instead?

ATAS

Hi all, anyone has experience with ATAS? I was accepted for a PhD program in engineering (my background is Indonesian, so any Indonesian please connect with me). I wonder how long does ATAS usually take? I'm afraid it will take some time because my program starts at 1 October 2026. Thanks

Moonraker Point vs Spring Mews

Hi everyone!

I'm an undergraduate exchange student coming to King's College London for the Fall 2026 semester and am trying to decide between Moonraker Point and Spring Mews (Vauxhall).

From what I can tell, I really like that Moonraker Point is much closer to the Strand Campus, which would make it easier to get to classes and spend time in central London. However, I've noticed that Spring Mews seems to have better overall reviews, especially for its facilities and student experience.

I also understand that Spring Mews is managed separately from King's accommodation, which makes me a little unsure about what the experience is like compared to living in a King's residence.

For anyone who has lived in either, I'd love to hear your honest thoughts!
