I have been reading so many posts about visiting various sites and they all conflict.

Visiting Istanbul in August.

Must see sites:

-Ayasophya.

-Blue Mosque.

-Topkapi Palace.

Some people say the sites are free but that does not seem to be true now.

There are a lot of sites claiming they sell tickets, but also many warnings about false tickets.

The one which seems the most official is muze.gen.tr. (linked).

We are history people and want to be able to spend some time at each site and not do the standard 'Viator' type tour. (Please no comments about any of these not being 'worth it'.)

This family trip reminded me why I loved it here in my childhood. I used to go to school enjoying this view every day. Never thought I would try to avoid going out. Still looks incredible despite all the effort we put in to screw up this city.

Hello, I’m visiting Istanbul for a few days and was wondering what should I expect to pay at a salon for hairstyling and acrylic nails? As I saw a few say you won’t pay more than 700 liras for a blowout while one shop quoted me 1800 liras! So I’m thinking prices might have changed over time? Any recommendations on nice salons in Şişli? Thanks!

I visited Istanbul last year and it was beautiful. I would like some help finding a certain spread we had for breakfast (circled in yellow on the photo). It was a thick, nutty but sweet unlike peanut butter, it was so good. We forgot to ask the name of it.

I have a friend going there this year and if i could get the name I will ask him if he could bring some for me if its available in supermarkets.
