Any Liberal States good for homesteading?

My husband and I are looking to find a place where we can settle, garden, raise goats animals. I've been looking at a lot of "top rated States to homestead in" type lists online and noticed the pattern that most listed are extremely red states. We are generally pretty liberal so I was wondering what were good states to homestead in that are more liberal politically. I did a search but couldn't find any real answers. Does anyone have any experience or reccomendations?

And the constitution, human rights, immigration. The list is endless. My core values are crucial for me especially when it comes to who my neighbors will be.
