Had always wanted a yellow diamond.
Fiancé went with three yellow stones that ombré out into the pave band.
But literally no one has recognized it as an engagement ring since I’ve been home.
Should I change the center stone to a classic color?
Are the prongs ginormously thick? Does the edge around the pave make it look dirty/ costume? Should it have been set in yellow rather than white gold?

Edit: I went so thick as I WORK heavy w/ my hands and wanted something substantial as I wanted a bigger stone.

am I just overthinking this?

He proposed during the most strenuous (and gorgeous) hike of our lives. Still not sure how to best photograph the ring, but I’m too excited not to share!

My boyfriend (now fiancé) proposed to me on a hike in a quiet moment with exactly the ring I had envisioned. Simple, classic and a lasting design since I want to continue wearing it with my wedding band.

After we scratched our initials in a near table. The hike was called the love bench way (Liebesbankweg) and had a bunch of benches dedicated to couples and families.

Couldn’t be happier and wanted to share. 🤭

Apparently I got my own ring size wrong, so it is slighty too big and we will have it resized.

Ring details: Lab grown 2 carat diamond, emerald cut, size 52/6.5

I actually got this ring about two years ago, but I never really got a chance to show it off (I have a very small friend group).

My spouse borrowed my colored pencils, drew the design he was picturing, and took it straight to a jeweler. I did not see the ring until it was finished.

I absolutely love it.

Moissanite (center), sapphire, and diamonds. I genuinely don't remember my ring size - it's quite small, though.

The center stone is a 10x5 marquise cut.

I love my ring, but I feel like it’s so high. I told the jeweler that I’d like “low profile” and they said that this is as low as it’ll go to be able to fit a wedding band.

Does it look normal, is this low profile?

More info: I’m considering a plain gold band so I may ask them again about lowing it when we go wedding band shopping. I don’t really know much about rings 🤷🏼‍♀️. Thank you so much!

Hi, I’m really happy with my engagement and wedding rings, they’re simple yet sophisticated, which fits my style perfectly. I specifically wanted an oval diamond (it even matches my naturally almond-shaped nails) and nothing too oversized.

My husband picked both rings out for me in Turkey without me being there, so choosing the perfect match was a little hard. I recently noticed the two rings are slightly different shades of gold though, is it noticeable?

Another thing: my diamond ring frequently slides to the side, even on warmer days when my fingers are more swollen. My wedding band is also flatter than my engagement ring, so sometimes the stack doesn’t feel super cohesive together.
I’m curious what you would do in this situation. Should I just leave it as it is, or? opinions/advice from people who wear stacks every day 🫶 ty!

Started lurking here 6 months ago when we were looking for inspiration, and now I finally get to post mine!

I wanted a clear Australian parti sapphire in forest greens and yellows to remind me of home. I thought would be pretty straightforward but it turns out was actually harder than expected once we started narrowing down to a carat range, certification and heat treatment.

Well as luck would have it, our jeweller found this GORGEOUS sapphire after scouring his supplier network. I never considered an Asscher cut but we paid to get it shipped from overseas and I fell in love with it immediately. Once we picked the stone my fiancé worked with the jeweller on the rest. I think he absolutely smashed it!

There are so many colours in it that it glows. I’m so obsessed and I can’t stop staring!

My fiancé did such a good job with the ring! He planned a surprise weekend get away for us and popped the question on top of a mountain hike! So so happy!

He knew I’ve been snooping around so he planned an entire decoy date on Saturday to get me off his tracks, but he finally proposed on Sunday!

I’m just too inlove with my ring. I told him my minimum was 1ct, but he got me a 3ct and nailed it down to the tiniest detail.

The diamonds on the pavé bridge facing outside are all white/colorless while the diamonds on the pavé bridge facing me are pink. It’s a little secret detail meant just for my eyes. The center stone on the pavé bridge is also a slightly darker pink than the rest. 💗

I have tried to search for posts on coloured gems with inclusions and haven’t had any luck. If this has been raised before please send the link to any posts that relate to my question!

My fiancé and I are working with a jeweller to have my engagement ring made. I’m looking at getting an Australian Sapphire, however, I don’t want a perfect high quality stone.

I want something unique with character and I have started looking at stones with inclusions. I’m not sure if this is the right decision because people always have the “perfect” gem in their engagement ring, so I don’t have anything to compare or guide me.

Please post pics of your rings with a coloured stone that has visible inclusions!

(Please no diamond rings, I’m sure they are pretty but they won’t help with my decision here!)

We went with moissanite cuz I'd rather have my dream ring without the cost and/or guilt for bragging rights or something lol.
