Free! First grief jog/walk & coffee club for young adults this Saturday in Bristol

Hi, I’m Luke and I run a community called Too Young To Grieve for young people navigating grief and loss.

After losing my dad, one thing I struggled with a lot was feeling like there weren’t really spaces for young people dealing with grief to connect with others who genuinely understood it.

Over the last few months we’ve started building relaxed runs/jogs/walks and coffee meet ups for young people navigating grief, loss and mental health struggles, and this weekend we’re bringing the first Bristol one together led by Emma.

The idea is very simple.

No pressure to open up or talk about anything heavy - just getting outside, movement, coffee and being around people who understand.

Some people come for the walk/jog, some people come more for the conversations afterwards, and most people actually come alone for the first time.

One thing we’ve loved most about these meet ups recently is seeing how quickly strangers connect when there’s already a shared understanding there.

You don’t have to be a runner to come down, everyone’s welcome.

We’ve also got a WhatsApp community where people stay connected between events and meet ups.

Would love to have some people from Bristol join us this weekend. Feel free to share this with someone who might need it 🤍

Where To? Pokemon cards, clubs and toys?

hi everyone!

I have an autistic 6 year old girl who is suddenly mad into pokemon cards. however, she kind of can’t handle the uncertainty of buying a pack and not knowing what she’ll get. she doesn’t know how to play, just likes looking at stuff.

is there anywhere in Bristol you can buy individual cards and/or just look at Pokemon stuff? or any Pokemon kids clubs? or somewhere i can cheaply buy a second hand bunch and sift through?

she basically doesn’t know anything about it but is hugely interested.…so no serious leagues etc (I mean she’s 6 so I doubt anyone would suggest that lol).

I tried to google but looks like geek retreat is closed and couldn’t figure out if the shop in staple hill is open still?

any tips appreciate!

Back in ancient times when I lived in London, I loved going to jazz clubs .. The Vortex, Uncle Sam's on kingsland road .. lots and lots of traditional jazz.

I really wish Bristol had something similar.

Hello!

I’m wondering if anyone knows of active film clubs in Bristol?

I’ve been going to the cinema (watershed and the cube) solo but wouldn’t mind a chat afterwards!

Cheers

Hi Guys, I (27M) am fairly new to Bristol and looking to get back into road cycling after a bit of time off due to an injury. Are there any local clubs that run weekend group rides etc?

Thanks!

Hey! Me and my partner are attending the Liberation TruthorDare swing/kink club in early Jan. it’ll be our first time going to something like this and am interested in people’s experiences.

What’s the demographic? Age, gender?

How is the tour in the beginning?

What did people mainly wear?

How did you find the night?

I’m curious and like to be prepared lol. Thanks!

Where To? Good groups/clubs to join in Bristol to meet people?

Hi, I’m in my early 20s and looking for some ideas for groups or clubs to join in Bristol where it’s fairly easy to meet people.

I’m trying to get out more and build a bit of a social life again, but I’m not really into big drinking/nightlife scenes. I’d prefer something more relaxed or structured where it’s not awkward turning up alone.

Open to things like walking groups, classes, volunteering, or anything similar.

Also ideally something quite positive/low-pressure as I’m focusing on my wellbeing at the moment.

Would really appreciate any recommendations 🙂

I was invited to paint this logo upon my clients shop front so it would catch commuters eyes. They will be using this space as multifunctional venue for social clubs/games nights/language lessons/barber shop & tattoo parlour. Go check them out. Painted by Conrico Steez, drop us a message if you have a sign or mural you'd like painted for your business or home.

Babble Which football club REPRESENTS Bristol??

As a Bristolian with scouse heritage down the line all my family are Liverpool, but it never really imprinted on me so I’m taking my time to decide for a club to follow as I’m only really getting into football now.

Because of this I decided to play a visit to both major football clubs in Bristol.

Question for fans of both?

What football team do you think actually represents Bristol as a city, for example one may say rovers as they’re older or city as they’re more central idk.

Who do you think has a better atmosphere. And what are some reasons why you support your club (manor farm fans can also comment)

Many thanks all

Anyone who likes CHESS and Dub Techno, look no further than next Saturday (11th) evening at The Love Inn. A free event with amazing vibes. Top sound system with bass driven tunes, echoing hypnotics and undulating rhythms.

Boards are provided.

Open to all abilities.

Great place to meet people.

Hope to see you there!

Self explanatory caption really haha, just wondering which people prefer considering they’re right next to eachother!

Looking for opinions on the OMG bar vs club too? We have an OMG club where I’m from, but not a bar.
